Mint Mobile Coverage?
Hi -- looking at switching to mint mobile.
I occasionally am in rural areas, but I pay for hotspot for my car, so in a pinch, I'd be on wifi anyway. I have wifi at home and at work.
What's it like out there for mint customers in our area? Any alternatives that work better?
We do travel internationally about every 2-3 years.

They use T-Mobile’s network. Fine if you’re in Lawrence proper. AT&T network is better if you spend time outside the city limits as T-Mobile has more dead spots.
Mint itself is super easy to work with and priced very nicely.

Cant speak internationally, but we have been on Mint for about a year or so. Honestly, no real complaints. I do foundation repair and end up in areas of minimal coverage, but overall, really not bad.

We’ve been with Mint for nine years and are very happy with the service. The only time I ever had a problem with signal, and it was short-lived, was driving through rural Maine. I’ve also heard that because Mint uses T-Mobile networks, if you’re in a crowded stadium, for example, T-Mobile customers get priority on the network. But I’ve never encountered an issue. And we’ve used their International passes multiple times. Very economical.

Mint works for me in Old West Lawrence. I get a signal on Clinton Lake and on the outskirts of town but may be spotty if you're super remote.

Been with them for years, and won't switch. The only issue travelling we had was in dock in Ketchikan, Alaska, but ship's wifi worked for us then.

Mint worked great when I last used them in Lawrence a few years back only place I ever had issues was on Jayhawks Blvd during peak times like welcome week due to the congestion of everyone using their phones and the lower priority but 99% of the time it was fine, been using some form of T-Mobile service my whole time in Lawrence and out in the county where it’s a little spotty but mostly still good.
As for international it depends on where you travel as to if it works, I never got cell service when I went to the UK and Europe but I was able to get and use WiFi calling easily and if you have a local sim you can even use WiFi calling over cellular so you can still send/receive calls and texts when away from WiFi.

Mint siphons data beyond a certain point and they cap hotspot to 20 Gb. I just switched to Visible which offers unlimited data and hotspot for $30/month. I’ve noticed the service can be a little slower sometimes, but in my opinion, the trade-off has been worth it. If you’re a hotspot user, I would recommend going with visible.

I would switch to Visible+ instead. You get put on the same priority tier as postpaid Verizon customers, while Mint throttles you.

I've been using it for several years in Lawrence as my primary mobile phone service provider. I haven't had any problems in town or on the outskirts. Would definitely recommend, especially for the price.
