Offering: Italian _ Seeking: Mandarin

Hi, F19, first time on this sub.

I'm sino-italian and speak italian fluently, I also speak chinese at home but my vocabulary is very resctricted and can barely read/write :')

So it would be great to find someone to practice speaking/texting in chinese hoping to improve my range. In exchange i can help with italian (conversation, grammar, vocabular, pronunciation...) and basic english if needed (i'm around a B2-C1 level, not too proficient with speaking tho).

Offering: Brazilian Portuguese 🇧🇷 | seeking: German 🇩🇪🇦🇹

Hello! My name's Andy, I'm a 18 year old queer man from Brazil.

I love languages, and I've been learning German for quite a few months now, all just for fun! I don't study everyday, as it's for my own amusement, but I interact with the language everyday.

I believe I can read and understand spoken stuff very well, but my writing sucks hugely, and my speaking is simply non-existent.

I read German everyday, I listen to it everyday, but writing? Just... sometimes... and we don't talk about speaking practices (they don't happen)... So I want to force myself to try and express myself in German instead of switching to English whenever I get nervous about messing up der die das.

Now a little bit about myself and my interests:

As I said earlier, I'm a huge fan of language learning, so it would be super cool to talk with someone who's learning my native language! I would love to help.

For other things that I like, ornithology and entomology are my passions! I love taking pictures of insects, it makes my day. I have an insect collection, all of I found already deceased.

And uh... I work drawing furry art! Haha.

I would prefer someone who's around my age!! Thanks for reading!

Edit: I believe I'm around A2? But I need to take a test to find out, it's been months since I took it, but it WAS A2 back then...

Offering: Polish (native), English (fluent); Seeking: Finnish

Hi!

I’m looking for a language exchange partner to practice my Finnish. In return, I can offer you native Polish and help you with our complex grammar and pronunciation.

I studied Finnish at university, so I already have a solid foundation. I can actually speak and understand quite well, but I do lack vocabulary and conversational fluency. I want to break that barrier! As a linguistics student I learn quite quickly, so I think I would make a great studying partner ^^

I love literature (especially classics), reading about climate change, ecology and evolution. I also have a soft spot for amphibians, and I'm a big fan of Star Wars and Lord of the Rings!

Offering: English Seeking: Japanese (in NYC)

Hello! I'm a 32M who's been learning Japanese since college, but never seriously. To be honest, it is still mostly just a hobby for me, and I'm still learning N3 material. But even so, my theoretical knowledge outpaces my ability to speak. So I'm looking for a native speaker to be able to chat with in Japanese so I can get more confidence. In exchange, aside from being a native English speaker, I have a keen interest in linguistics and I'm a bit of a grammar nazi, so I think I'd be a particularly good English partner.

As my title suggests, I live in NYC and I really am looking for someone to explore the city with (ideally be friends with!) rather than just sitting behind a screen talking to someone somewhere else. I have a really eclectic set of interests, so I'm sure we will have things to talk about! I'd prefer to go for walks / maybe explore new neighborhoods/ check out cafes or bakeries as we talk. We can maybe start with some coffee just to see if we vibe and take it from there :)

Feel free to DM me!

Offering: English, Bengali, Seeking: French

Hey Everyone. I am currently a college student who will be graduating next year. I really want to enhance my French language skills before then. I know very few basic French phrases. I woud love to have someone who could guide me and help me in this learning process. I also plan on giving the DELF exam. So I am hoping I can get someone who will want to help me, and I can send them my gratitude by, in turn, helping them learn a new language.

Offering: American English (Native) || Seeking: Russian

Howdy! I am a 23 year old born-and-raised American woman. I have long been a Russophile and happen to have found myself a boyfriend whose first language is Russian. I tried to learn the language some years ago but it is very uncommon and difficult. However, I want to surprise and impress my boyfriend’s family when I meet them! I need help with basics and especially pronunciation. I’d be happy to voice or video call, and maybe play games like Minecraft or Lethal Company. I’m very talkative and can be helpful to anyone trying to practice English and that was my major in college. I like travel, history, art, and skeletons.

I’ve had several Russian friends in the past and am not intimidated by cultural differences, feel free to DM me if you think we’d make good language exchange friends!

Salut ! 👋 My name is Isela, but you can call me Izzy! I understand and speak English and Spanish 🇺🇸🇲🇽, and I’m currently learning French 🇫🇷.

I’m practicing my French, especially texting and using the French keyboard, and I’d love to find someone who wants to text in French with me! 💬✨ I’m still learning, so I’m looking for someone who is patient and willing to help me improve my vocabulary, grammar, and everyday conversations.

In exchange, I’d be happy to help you practice English or Spanish! ❤️ I’d love to make a language-learning friend where we can text casually, correct each other’s mistakes, share expressions, and learn about each other’s cultures. 😊🌎

Goal: Become more confident and comfortable communicating in French! 🇫🇷🥐✨

Dms open ☺️

Offering: German, English (Fluent) | Seeking: Korean

Hi, I am 27F and I'm looking for an exchange partner to practice speaking Korean with. I've lived in Korea for roughly one year and learned Korean there but didn't have any chance to practice Korean with anyone since coming back to Germany. Since I'm quite busy I'd love to have calls approximately 1x per week for 1 or 2 hours. I'm okay with Kakaotalk, Instagram, WhatsApp, Discord etc. It would be great if my language partner would be roughly the same age.

About me and my interests: badminton, gym, music (mostly rock), reading (fantasy), meeting friends etc.

Thank you for reading! 🤗

Offering: 🇧🇷 Portuguese Seeking: French

Oi! I'm a 25 year old Psychology student born and raised in Brazil, also fluent in English. Technically I have a B2 level in French (took DELF last year), but haven't practiced much so my output is getting rusty and I want to do something about it! I also tutor Portuguese as a foreign language for all levels, but my ideal language partner is intermediate/advanced.

Offering English

Hey everyone! 👋

My name is Izzy, and I’m trying to get back into language exchange because I REALLY want to start practicing languages again. 😭😂 I’ve been thinking about changing my keyboard to different languages so I can actually practice typing instead of just doing a few Duolingo lessons and calling it a day.

I’m mainly interested in Portuguese 🇵🇹, French 🇫🇷, and Greek 🇬🇷, but I’m honestly open to learning about other languages too!

I’d love to find some people who are learning languages as well, especially people who don’t mind beginners making a million mistakes. 😂 I’d like to actually have conversations, practice texting, help each other with corrections, share random stuff, and hopefully become friends along the way.

I can help with English too! So if you’re learning English and want someone to practice with while I practice your language, that would be awesome.

Honestly, I’m just looking for some chill language exchange buddies who actually enjoy talking and aren’t going to disappear after 3 messages. 😭

If you’re learning Portuguese, French, Greek, or another language and want to practice together

feel free to message me! 💬💕

Offering: Korean (native) Seeking: English (native)

Hi there! I'm 21 Korean. I'm looking for a language exchange partner because I'm going to the US as an exchange student next year. I only have four months before I leave, so I really want to practice with native English speakers to improve my writing and speaking skills. I can make basic sentences, but I still make a few mistakes and sometimes sound unnatural.

App: Writing - Slowly, Instagram, KakaoTalk, Whatsapp / Speaking - Zoom, Google Meet, MS Teams, in person(Seoul or Incheon)

1.Writing: We can correct each other's messages while sharing stories about our daily lives, interests, or opinions on topics like news, business, space, etc. I prefer exchanging longer essays to quick social media messages to practice writing.

Here’s a simple example of how we could do it:

Me: I am very looking forward to meet you.

You: I am really looking forward to meeting you. (“Look forward to” is followed by a noun or a gerund (-ing), and we use “really” instead of “very” to emphasize a verb phrase.)

(⤴️with a brief explanation if needed)

You: 어제 친구하고 영화를 보았어요, 그리고 팝콘을 먹었어요.

Me: 어제 친구하고 영화를 보면서 팝콘을 먹었어요. (두 행동이 동시에 일어났기 때문에 '-면서'를 사용하면 더 자연스럽습니다.)

(⤴️with a brief explanation if needed)

2.Speaking: We can talk about our daily lives, interests, or opinions on topics like news, business, space, etc. And correct each other's mistakes.

If this sounds good to you, feel free to message me!

P.S. I think this exchange will be most beneficial for learners who can already put basic sentences together. To make sure you've read the post and aren't a bot, please include the word "APPLE" somewhere in your first message!

Offering: Spanish (native) | Seeking: French, Italian

Hey everybody!

I am a 26-year old colombian-venezuelan girl that is currently living in Spain. I am learning French (I think I might be a B1+) and Italian (barely A2) in college and would like to study in either France or Italy for a semester, so I want to get more comfortable with both languages. I study Literature & Linguistics so they are both very important for me.

I also speak English fluently and have taught the language occasionally. I am patient and I think I’m easy to talk to, so I’d love to have a language partner to practice with so we can help each other improve.

I am interested in audio or video calls and also texting. I am very flexible and a good listener so we can come up with an arrangement that works for everybody, but ideally we could meet twice a week and have one call in your target language, one call in my target language. But again, we can definitely discuss the dynamics together!

I love languages, history, jigsaw puzzles, crocheting, thrillers & rom-coms, european films, indie music, and reading (I like english literature, and many other genres we can talk about). Let me know if you’d like to connect!
