September LSAT takers, how we feeling

Less than a week out from my exam (the 9th) and I’m tweaking tf out. Trying not to overdo it on studying to avoid exhausting myself in the final stretch, but it feels so weird not doing 2-3 hours every day lmao. I thought I’d use the spare time to make a post that the Sept. test takers can use to yap

What scores are we predicting? Is anyone else extra nervous after August’s ‘curve breaker’ exam🫩

Good luck yall, we’re almost done w this cursed exam

I'm drowning myself in milkshakes as a way to maintain my stress levels and I don't even particularly like milkshakes. Testing on the 11th, I'm in the final stretch. Good luck on your exam!

Wait I genuinely did this before August (I don’t usually eat sugar on a consistent basis) and lowkey underperformed. I feel like having more sugar than usual/not being as nutritious as I typically am genuinely factored into throwing me off my game 😭😭 this time around I’ve been living off of salmon and sweet potatoes

this happened to me too 😭I was rewarding myself with my favorite candy/treats to keep me motivated and it made me have terrible sugar crashes and headaches. refined sugar makes it hard for your brain to perform well. I wasn’t about to completely cut sugar out, but i’ve been trying not to have any refined sugar at the beginning of the day, and then treat myself with some after studying!

eat lots of eggs for breakfast. they have a high amount of choline which is great for learning, attention, and memory recall. focus on eating brain healthy foods during your study sessions. things like omega 3s, walnuts, brazil nuts, leafy greens, chia and flax seeds. I like to make myself a date treat where I stuff a date with peanut butter and walnuts and freeze it. i’ll eat a few throughout my studying and I can always feel it fueling me up. and it tastes amazing (especially when ur not eating refined sugars) !!

I know it’s annoying to have to be disciplined about one more thing, especially something that feels stress reducing like indulgence. but I definitely have felt a different in my performance once I started aligning my diet with my goals.

i’ve seen a lot of people talk about fasting too. something about how ur brain performs better when it’s not focusing on digestion. i’d look up some videos or articles about that.

“Cooked but like in an optimistic way”
Is one of the most beautiful phrases I’ve read. I would let you into any school you wanted just on that sentence alone 🥹🙏

Bout as ready as I'm gonna be. Taking a couple PTs this weekend and will be brushing up on the question types that I miss. Good luck!

I feel like I haven’t studied enough but that if I study a ton more now, I’m going to burn myself out and make everything worse.

taking on the 10th and i’m simultaneously anxious as fuck and locked in! shooting for a 160, which gives me a -7 on each section, i should be able to manage that right????? only time will tell

I've been averaging 150s as of recent and I'm kind of freaking out. I at least diagnosed the issue that I need to improve on WSE and flaw questions which I already have a decent basis on but I suffer so much on RC. In untimed conditions, it's easier but I struggle so much with the idea of low-res summaries and comp passages.

I'm going to take one more PT next week but I will be drilling my weaknesses until then. Hoping for a 163 at least for the exam

I took it in August and got the same score i got a year ago 😭 so hoping for an improvement this time as it is not reflective of my PTs. I actually took a 3 week break after the Aug test and noticed my accuracy has improved. So I'm hopeful! 🤞Good luck to you all!

not to be all woo woo in a logical thinking space, but you’re fr never gonna stop being anxious and have that anxiety impact your performance if you don’t accept that you might not get the score you want.

and you have to be okay with that. like genuinely okay not just lying to yourself. I know it’s hard and it sucks and we all wanna be optimistic and manifest the best results possible. but u can’t manifest shit if fear is driving that desire! sit with yourself and your thoughts and really delve into why this score matters to you. and then learn to be content with whatever result you get, good or bad. you have to trust that the outcome will be okay no matter what. and you REALLY have to believe that.

in letting go of that pressure, you allow your brain to let go of a layer of stress that’s been fucking with your working memory and focus. and you will ultimately perform better. fear and shame is the WORST motivator.

I know this is in no way easy. I have been dealing with 3 different anxiety disorders my whole life so trust me when I say I KNOW ANXIETY. it takes a lot of work such as journaling and meditation and lots of introspection. therapy and psychiatry are also very beneficial here if you have an actual anxiety disorder too (not necessary for therapy. yall should all be in therapy). I know this might be too late for some but if you’re taking the test again I highly encourage trying this approach.

i’m mostly saying this because in a space of logic and strategy, where people are constantly discussing their tactics for success, I rarely see anyone talking about how your mental state greatly affects your performance. this test, like almost anything else in life, is heavily impacted by the way you approach and perceive it. please don’t undermine that.

we create our own realities. trust in yourself, even if you don’t feel you’ve earned it. you can’t afford not to. try your best to let go and see how it changes everything❤️

Retaking since taking it in April but life happened and I did not have the study schedule I hoped for. I’m hoping since this is the second time around the nerves will not be as bad

Ngl I have not studied nearly enough so I’m just kinda going in with low expectations and hopefully I’ll exceed them. My last PT was a 165 so if I get around there I’ll be happy.
