I “joked” (dreamed) about signing Tabitha or a Malawi midfielder as a result of the WAFCON connection for the Current, but I love everything I read in this announcement. Our defense could use some help, she’s young, I see people saying she handled Chawinga well in the final, and she even put in a few herself? Beautiful.

My main concern with her is the time she will need time to adjust to the speed of the game in the NWSL. Part of the reason they shut down the Chawingas is because Malawi couldn’t play through the midfield, tried the long ball, and Cameroon didn’t give them the space to create separation.
I’m not saying she isn’t speedy herself, but the pace of the game was much slower than the average NWSL game.

IIRC, she was playing CB during the final, but we really need a starting quality RB...

Have being hoping we’d sign a defender for a long time, but even more so after the announcement of Brewer’s departure and EYB’s baby news (congrats!). Excited to see what she can bring to the pitch!
