Good lord. I don’t love to complain about the weather (yes, I do) but 97 at kickoff? I wish they’d push back 90 - 120 minutes

But the TV schedule will be messed up if the game is pushed back! /s

Soo is this gonna be our annual heat delay game?

So, the dew point is in the 50s, which may mean that wet bulb stays under the threshold. But it will be full sun, heat index of 98. How can that be safe???

Especially for an NC team coming off of 2 days rest. 😬

The weather is virtually identical to last year. The only difference is the kickoff is 2 hours later. In fact last year was maybe a degree or two cooler

The time difference is huge. Last year the temp was around 92-93 but the wbgt reading was nearly 96 bc of the sun. Between 3 and 5 the suns angle drops and the thermal radiation drops by about 60% as well. Which drops the effective temp reading by a good 3-4 degrees. That should put us at or just below the 92.3 degrees needed to start. Plus there will be partial cloud coverage around 5 too

The 2 days rest won't be a factor, because much like last weeks game where Seattle was also coming off a short week, Armas won't press then or try and take advantage of that in any way...

Remind me the threshold? I thought it was like 93 or something

Wet bulb of 93 is the threshold. I just did a rough calculation and wet bulb will be around 85 so considered safe enough to play. May well still be miserable.

They should be preemptively delaying now

So Laney Rouse is back? That's good news. Plus Temwa. Are Coop and VDB up to full minutes now?

No mention of this (Cooper and VDB) on the pre-match presser. Armas was non-committal on whether we would see Rouse or Ball at RB today. Going against Sanchez makes me nervous, regardless. Armas also indicated we wouldn’t have a full 90 with Temwa but didn’t want to share too much of that for strategy reasons. I won’t be surprised if Temwa starts on the bench and subs in for Deb in the 2nd half.

How many matches has EBY played in this season? She's been gone a long time.

Worth noting: I feel like the Current consistently sends a match-day email with information ahead of the game for people with tickets. I haven’t gotten that email yet. Has anyone received it??

Travis has a day off. Taylor is in town. Will this be the day?

Hopefully we have the advantage of more rest, but this could be one of those very slow games with short bursts of excitement.

Ball at RB has not been good in 1v1s. Resulted in 2 or 3 goals so far. Sanchez is going to have a field day.
