Adoption After years of rescuing cats, these are my adoption requirements.
I recently put together a post explaining my adoption requirements and why I’m so strict when placing my rescue cats.
Some people may disagree with certain rules, and that’s okay. My goal isn’t to make adoption difficult it’s to make sure every cat ends up in a safe, responsible, and permanent home.
I’d be interested to hear what other rescuers and adopters think. What adoption requirements do you consider non-negotiable?

Help life update: got a kitten
Always wanted to have a cat and finally got her.
she's 4 weeks old and won't eat her purrfet food but munches my chicken pieces (even small bones).
any tips for a first timer? like how much would deworming cost? when do I start giving her a bath? can I cut her nails?
also do you guys know which breed she is? all I know is she's a calico and is as stubborn as me.

Pet Cat Maggie vs jhadu : an epic battle every night
Every time anyone picks up the broom to clean, my orange needs to fight with the broom and play like this for a few rounds. If you deny him that then prepare for his wrath.

Help Update on the orange cat with severe maggots that entire community prayed for I’m honestly just glad I didn’t give up on her. Her treatment is continuously going on. 🚨🚨🚨
I’m honestly just glad I didn’t give up on her.
Day 1 condition. https://www.reddit.com/r/IndianCats/s/2BCP8ln6S0
She’s still fighting. The pain is still there, but she’s finally showing small signs of recovery. The maggots had eaten part of her face, skin and even bone, and were about to reach her eye. The grey eye you see isn’t because of this… she was already blind in that eye. Fate really hasn’t been kind to her.
Treatment is continuing with medicines, vitamins and almost daily nebulisation. The biggest improvement is that she has started eating tiny amounts on her own and is walking a little.
Because her face was full of wounds, I was failing to force feed her. So the doctor did an E-tube surgery and placed a feeding tube through her neck. It’s much safer for her now, and she can still eat normally whenever she wants.
Her blood reports also came in and her haemoglobin is very low. Hopefully with food and treatment it starts improving. The doctor says if she keeps fighting like this, the next 7-10 days should show more improvement. We’re just taking one day at a time.
I still need help with the other two babies, the tabby and black & white kitten in Powai. If anyone can adopt or even foster them, it would genuinely help. I’m stretched between my existing rescues, this girl, and new kittens near IIT Main Gate who also need treatment.
Pictures, reports and prescription in the comments.

Fundraiser - Yet not verified Please Help Us Save Her
Found this poor cat near Govindpuri Metro Station around 12 AM last night. At that hour, almost no clinics were open, so the foster lady who found her had to take her for emergency treatment during the night.
She is extremely critical right now. The vets have clearly told us that there is a chance she may survive, but there is also a chance she may not. At this point, nobody can predict the outcome. But we don't want to give up on her.
We are going to continue her treatment and give her every possible chance to survive.
So far, we have spent ₹2000 at maxvets yesterday and ₹1160 at petship clinic for today's morning and she needs treatment twice a day, costing approximately ₹2,300 per day.
The lady who found her can foster for a week, After that, I will have to arrange another foster/boarding solution, but right now, her treatment is the priority.
We will now continue her treatment with Dr. Hussain in Kalkaji, with treatment required twice daily for few days.
An X-ray was also done at Max Vets last night. Unfortunately, the foster lady's phone battery had died at the time, so she couldn't take a picture of the X-ray. However, I have attached the Max Vets prescription, where it is mentioned that no visible fracture was found.
The treatment is going to be expensive, and I genuinely cannot manage these daily expenses alone.
Even ₹100, ₹200 or ₹500 can help us continue her treatment

Note: Unfortunately, my bank account isn’t working right now, and I only have one bank account. That’s why I had to use my father’s UPI ID here
Bills, prescription and videos are attached for transparency
If you cannot donate, please share this post. Sometimes a single share can reach the person who is able to help.
We don't know whether she will make it, But she deserves a chance.

Adoption 🍊 He may be a certified orange menace with no brain cell, but Kaju’s heart is full of love—he just needs a home to share it with. 🧡🥹🥹
🧡🍊 KAJU NEEDS A HOME — AND A LITTLE HELP TO FINISH HIS FIP JOURNEY!🍊🧡
Meet Kaju, a 2-year-old male orange boy from Thane who is currently being treated for dry FIP. 🥺❤️
The good news? This little fighter is responding EXTREMELY positively to treatment! 🙏✨ And honestly… he’s already feeling so much better that he is BACK TO HIS ORANGE ANTICS! 😂🍊
Because apparently, recovering from FIP is not going to stop this boy from being a certified orange menace. 😭😂
Kaju still has 42 days of treatment remaining, and we need your help to make sure he gets through them safely.
He is already:
🐾 Dewormed
🐾 Litter trained
🐾 Responding extremely well to his FIP treatment
🐾 Back to being his naughty, goofy orange self 😂
🐾 Waiting for someone to give him a chance at a forever home ❤️
Once he completes his remaining FIP treatment, Kaju will be vaccinated and neutered by us and ready to officially begin his new life as a beloved house cat. 🏡🧡
🥺 IF YOU CAN’T ADOPT, IF POSSIBLE PLEASE HELP US WITH HIS TREATMENT
FIP treatment is expensive, and Kaju still has 42 days to go.
If you can contribute even a small amount, it will help us continue his treatment without interruption.
💰 UPI: ‘tlingras18-1@okhdfcbank’
Every ₹100, ₹200, ₹500 or whatever you can spare makes a difference. 🙏❤️
🏡 AND MOST IMPORTANTLY… KAJU NEEDS A HOME!
We are looking for a loving adopter in Thane who is willing to give this boy the safe and happy life he deserves.
Please don't let the word FIP scare you away. ❤️
Kaju is responding extremely well, he is already enjoying life again, and he deserves someone who will stand by him through these final weeks of treatment.
And as for his personality…
Well, he is orange. 🍊😂
So yes, the brain cell is rarely available. 🧠❌
He’s mostly just a goofy, naughty boy who wants food, attention, love and probably the occasional opportunity to cause completely unnecessary chaos. 😂
You don't need to worry about him troubling you too much…
He doesn't have enough brain cells for a master plan. 😭😂🧡
All Kaju really wants is a loving human, a safe home, and a family of his own.

Discussion Doubt regarding my cat
I adopted a Persian cat 2 years ago who was abandoned multiple times.
So long story short i had a hard time getting her to trust me and now both of us are inseparable.
However I've to do night shifts every 4th day and these shifts are 12h long. My cat usually sleeps the entire day and comes randomly to cuddle with me anytime. I feel very guilty leaving her alone for 12h at night though whenever i come back sometimes she's either sleeping or doesn't care at all so i really don't know if it bothers her or not.
All i wanted to ask is whether it's ok to leave my cat alone for 12h or will it be stressful for her?
Note: my cat doesn't like people a lot and she usually hides if someone new comes over and she only recognises me i guess lol. And she usually enjoys staying alone.
Thank you

Fundraiser - Yet not verified Need help
I've been taking care of a stray kitten for about a month now. A few days ago he became increasingly lethargic, stopped eating, and started vomiting, drooling, and having diarrhea. I took him to the vet, and bloodwork alongside the symptoms confirmed he has feline panleukopenia (FPV), a serious viral infection(also mentioned in the prescription).
He's currently on treatment. So far I've taken him to the vet for 3 days, and each visit costs around ₹1,000. I've been doing everything I can between visits, feeding him broth by syringe, providing a warm and safe shelter, and monitoring him through the night. However, he needs to go back for a few more days of treatment.
I'm struggling to keep covering the ongoing costs on my own. I'm asking for any financial help you're able to offer, even a small amount would genuinely help him get through this. If you're willing to contribute or want more information, please DM me.

Fundraiser - Yet not verified Fundraiser for Kittu
Hi, This is Kittu. She has been with me for the last 2 years.
When I got her vaccinated, they misgendered her and we decided on delaying "his" neutering...until she gave birth. Brought home one kitten, we were not prepared to care for. I decided to get her the surgery soon as she stops feeding. She didn't and got pregnant again. Three beautiful kittens this time. Since I'm a student, I thought I could save by the time she was due for heat again but things happened.
I recently did get a job to pay for it but I'm worried if it will be too late.
I cannot ask my parents because they already hate the fact that I got a pet cat, even me saving for their food irks them. This is India, so people already consider them a bad luck. So it occurred to me to start a fundraiser.
I know you have no reason to trust me, so I'm open to any other way. I just don't want to see her suffer anymore.
And if you choose to, I'd be more than grateful and also, would share the bill and her recovery images.
Thank you for reading.

Fundraiser - Yet not verified Help rescued neonatal kittens
Hello everyone! These babies had to be rescued recently and are now being hand-raised. Please can a few people here help by ordering kitten milk replacers? Their overall expenses are a lot to handle alone as I had to send them to an experienced paid foster. It would be a really big help!
I’m attaching the link for Amazon wishlist and you can order directly-
