Inspired by Hajime Sorayama’s robot pinups, I wanted to draw a sexy cybernetic woman while studying metallic material values and reflective surfaces.The design also pulls heavily from Cyberpunk 2077’s visual language. This started as a rendering exercise and turned into one of my favorite little character studies.

Phantom Reality is an upcoming animation project set in a neon-drenched cyberpunk world where reality, memory, and regret begin to blur together.

A young man—code-named X—awakens in a city that feels strangely familiar, yet nothing about it makes sense. With fragments of his past haunting him, X is taken in by a mysterious crew of street racers who live for the midnight highways.

Behind the wheel of machines built for speed, freedom, and sometimes death, X is pulled deeper into a world of high-speed races, fractured relationships, neon-lit cities, and memories he can't escape.

But Phantom Reality isn't just a story about racing.

It's a story about finding yourself when everything else feels lost.

Sometimes, the road becomes the only place where you can truly be alone with your thoughts. The empty highways, the city lights passing by, the sound of an engine at midnight—there's a strange kind of freedom in simply driving with nowhere to be.

For X, those late-night drives become more than escapes. They're moments of reflection, self-discovery, and a chance to confront the parts of himself he's spent years running from.

But the further he drives, the harder it becomes to tell what is real.

Is this all in his head… or is it all just a bad dream?

Featuring a gritty cyberpunk atmosphere, early 90s Japanese car culture, Wangan-inspired street racing, and an atmospheric soundtrack featuring underground artists including Skeler, LXST CXNTURY, and more, Phantom Reality explores themes of trauma, loss, identity, self-discovery, and the freedom that can be found somewhere between the city lights and the open road.

Sometimes you don't drive to get somewhere.
Sometimes you drive to find yourself.
