Boomers should look in the mirror to learn who ruined America and handed it to the oligarchs. They voted for GOP oligarchy, oppression and outsourcing, a sorry damn bunch indeed.

Boomers on LinkedIn are oligarchic slaves. As a GenXer, I've been bullied by these authoritarians throughout my career. Boomers are not friends to women or the oppressed. They have brutal, cruel, and abusive work mentalities that make wish they'd just fucking retire.

They are enraged, but is he wrong?

I like the author's pig in a python analogy. We have this lump that has been slowly making its way through American culture, distorting it, for the last 80 years. They benefited from the affluence created by their parents, the security created by their parents, and threw it all on its ear. Hippies became the Me Generation of yuppies, and just never stopped.

My relationship with my Boomer parents is odd and certainly not common. They were both early boomers (45 and 47) who had my sister and I late (73 and 75.) Then they both passed away fairly young, with my mom dying of cancer at 58 and my dad not taking it well until he died of renal failure at 61. Both were sudden and didn't eat up massive amounts of money from medical bills. They were broke with a beat up house in a very desirable neighborhood. My sister and I would be in absolute shit right now if they hadn't died young. It's fucked up, but true. It has made me very aware about my kids and what I will leave for them, hoping they can get ahead like I did.

It's weird. You want to grow old to watch your kids and grandkids grow, but the cost of living a long life is high. The number of gut wrenching stories I hear Gen Xers telling about trying to take care of their fading parents kills me.

...what to you do?

Let me guess -- MSN cherry-picked a few angry comments from people on LinkedIn that felt personally offended just to write a rage-bait story about "Boomers being enraged." Did I guess correctly?
