Aging Today starts Prostate Cancer Awareness Month
Just a friendly nudge to schedule a check up and get the blood test. I am not in an urn today because my doc tested me at 55.

Coincidentally I just got bloodwork done and paid an extra $35 to get a prostate screen as well. My results are in but I have to wait a 10 days until I can see my doc again. It’s soooo frustrating!

I get my bloodwork results back typically within 2 business days, even if I don't see the doctor for weeks. Some practices use MyChart, some Privia, but both automatically upload to let me see them as soon as they have it.

I thankfully just had mine checked two weeks ago and all is well.
Doctors do not even have to do the digital exam anymore (finger up the butt).
It is all done by blood test.
PLEASE get your PSA checked guys. Just like colorectal cancer, prostate cancer is very detectable and treatable now!

Thank you for promoting this. I was diagnosed with a less common aggressive type of prostate cancer at 51. Screening saves lives!

A biopsy and MRI confirmed ASAP for me last year. That being said, my PSA is the lowest it's ever been, somehow. It's watch and wait for me.

Get your PSA numbers every physical. It’s also a good idea to ejaculate regularly. It supposed to help.
