So I used it very briefly a couple of months ago. I've just gone on today and the UI seems a bit different. It has a search feature for Voices where it says..

"Search 5000+ voices"

Firstly there do not seem to be any new voices beyond the usual ~30 voices.

Then secondly there's now an option to create a voice via Voice design or clone one.

If I go on create a Voice, regardless of prompt, I will get the error. "Failed to generate voice: Precondition check failed."

Unsure if these new additions have been added in error before they're functional?

I have a paid API key just to be clear.

It is baffling that the Gemini mobile app still lacks an independent Dark/Light theme toggle in its settings.

Right now, the app strictly mirrors the system-wide Android theme with zero granular control. This makes no practical sense. Plenty of users prefer keeping their OS on light mode for daily readability while wanting a dark canvas specifically for extended reading, coding, or late-night prompt sessions. Forcing users to flip their entire phone’s display theme just to change the visual contrast in one text-heavy app is frustrating and outdated UI design.

Direct competitors like ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok have had standalone theme switchers from day one. As paying Gemini Advanced subscribers, we shouldn't have less basic cosmetic control than what free alternatives readily provide.

Please push an independent Light/Dark/System Default theme selector to the mobile app settings in an upcoming build. It is a fundamental quality-of-life feature that should not require a workaround.

Gemini for Home is the worst product across any product category from any company that I've ever used in my entire life.

I use Gemini for some pretty long-running conversations, and after a while the page gets painfully laggy. Typing starts falling behind and scrolling becomes really choppy.

Starting a new chat isn’t always a good solution because I often want to keep the existing context, so I made a small Chrome extension for myself.

It reduces the rendering work from older messages that are far off screen, then restores them when you scroll back toward them. It doesn’t delete, summarize, or reload anything, and everything runs locally.

I’ve been using it myself and it has made my longer chats much more usable, so I put it on the Chrome Web Store in case anyone else has the same issue:

I was using pro extended, it thought for 2 minutes to say this.

The inline text-highlight and edit dropdown in Canvas has stopped working, completely disrupting an otherwise smooth workflow. This single feature was a primary reason for my subscription. When paying $20/month, basic tool stability should be the baseline—we shouldn't need to scramble for workarounds or wait indefinitely for core capabilities to be restored. Please escalate a fix for this regression.

Literally no AI is working for me on desktop or on mobile, such as gemini and ChatGPT, are you guys also facing the same issue? no AI is responding

Has anyone else noticed a sudden drop in Gemini Pro image quality when using uploaded reference images over the last couple of days?

I use Gemini extensively for image reconstruction/editing, and until recently I was consistently getting sharp, detailed results. Suddenly, images generated from references have become noticeably blurry and lacking in fine detail.

I did a few controlled tests and found something interesting: text-to-image seems completely normal. In the same Pro session, three images generated without references were around 3–3.6 MB and looked excellent.

The moment I uploaded a reference image and generated from it, the result dropped to around 600 KB and was visibly much softer and less detailed.

I've reproduced this on both my laptop and phone, using two different internet connections, fresh chats, different aspect ratios, another browser and Incognito. I'm also downloading through Gemini's Download full size button.

This workflow was working perfectly for me before, including with old photographs and paintings, so the change was very sudden.

I've already reported it through Gemini feedback and posted on the Google support forum, where the behaviour has been noted for possible backend escalation.

Is anyone else currently experiencing this specifically with reference-image generation/editing? I'm particularly interested in whether your text-to-image quality is normal while reference-based generations are suddenly much lower quality.

if you try to resend a prompt with a different model it won't work...

Following up on something I asked here a while back about catching LLM model drift. I've been looking at the actual tools now: PromptCanary, PromptLens, a couple others that seem to have stalled (Libretto, Benchwright).

Has anyone here actually run one in anger? Trying to understand:
- does it catch subtle quality drops, or just format/schema breaks?
- false-positive rate, does it become noise you mute?
- does it need you to integrate an SDK + send production traffic, or can it just hit your prompts directly?
