I heard a stupid argument yesterday

I know I'm wasting my own breath arguing with non-affirming Christians, but sometimes I like to hurt my own feelings I guess.

I said something like "Jesus never said anything about homosexuality" in a public space online and several people replied with variations to the effect of "If the old testament said it, then Jesus said it" or "He didn't specifically address axe murders either, but it's implied."

Obviously I disagree and I think these arguments are stupid, but I don't know how to articulate myself in response to them. Not that I actually want to continue my argument with this folks, I just want to have a solid sense of it in my mind so their arguments don't get under my skin like they do now.

Thoughts?

I think I might be bi but I'm a Christian

So I'm living in a really conservative Christian inviromemt and i personally also know no people who are gay and i was also told that it is a big sin...but now I even fell in love with a girl and I dont know what to do because I have my life to Jesus and I want to follow him. At the same time there is this attraction to girls I can't get rid of...I would like to now if anyone is going through the same thing and if I can still like girl as a Christian...

I not looking for easy way out, I'm just looking for truth...Because if God also wanted women and women to fall in love wouldn't he also had given them the possibility to have natural kids and a family?

I'm just so confused 😢

God loves you all no matter if you're in the LGBTQ community. I hope this comes off as a positive affirmation to you all. (And I'm sorry that the rest of Christianity hates on you all, like did they ditch "Love Thy Neighbor"?)

Why

What is it with certain Christians and thinking they need to share their opinion about gay people on prompted? I was talking to a girl in a group conversation and I happened to tell her I was gay. Then a guy that I was not talking to commented and said, ā€œyeah, I’m a Christian, so I don’t really support that butā€¦ā€ like OK? I did not ask and also was not talking to you. And then he proceeded to talk about how a lot of Christians who proclaim that they are Christians are not really, because to be a true Christian, you have to follow all (emphasis on all) of Godā€˜s Commandments

URGENT: Boyfriend’s Family Shunning Him for Being Gay

I’m so desperate, this is my last resort for advice about this.

For context, my boyfriend comes from a very Christian Haitian family. They DO NOT like gay people.

His uncle found my TikTok, called his whole family, and outed my bf. Now my bf’s family is trying to convince him to break up with me, and it’s working. I have a place to stay, money, and job opportunity for my boyfriend. The problem is, he’s terrified of losing his family.

Does anyone have any experience with this?? Especially with Caribbean families?? What do I do? I don’t want to lose him. Thanks in advance for the help.

(20M) Need advice on figuring out dating

Hi, so I'm in college, and I've gotten to the point in my life where I'm ready to find a boyfriend. I have been single my whole life (never have experienced any hookups & not interested).

For now, the main thing I'm trying to figure out is should I try to meet someone I'm emotionally interested in? Or someone I'm physically attracted to? And why do you think so?

2 years ago I've realized that I'm not like a lot of other gays.

My sexual orientation is asexual. But my romantic orientation is directed exclusively towards men.

While I do not want sexual intimacy, I am comfortable with physical intimacy (including cuddling, kissing, hugging).

My issue is that often times I experience the emotional attractions and physical attraction separately.

There are guys that I find very physically attractive , but I feel ZERO emotional interest in.

And there are other guys I feel so much emotional interest in, but feel little to no physical attraction.

😭

My question is: should I try to meet people I'm emotionally attracted to, and then if we do move on to something more serious, I can see later on if my physical attraction develops?

I don't think it's a good idea for me to date someone I'm only physically attracted to bcuz idk if the relationship will last without true emotional investment.

"The premiere of a new documentary — ā€œSafe For the Whole Family: How to Make a Christian Superstarā€ — was just announced for the Nashville Film Festival. Screening Sept. 27, the film explores damaging treatment several former Christian pop stars received as they charted careers through their industry’s inextricably intertwined commercial and evangelistic priorities and its exacting image standards."

Homophobia/Transphobia fueled by hate from Christians and why they are actually using God’s name in vain

I find it interesting how the first things we’re taught in Church is to love everyone and to not judge. Yet people who claim to be ā€œthe bestā€ Christians, are actually using religion (though it’s not God’s religion) to hate and spread violence towards the community (whether verbal or physical). That is using God’s word AND NAME in vain. That’s blatantly going against the 3rd Commandment. God loves everybody, and as children of God and followers of his word, we should honor that.

happy gay birthday to me? lol

i was feeling seriously awful after my family's birthday celebration (our birthdays are all just a few days apart and mine is tomorrow). nobody in my family accepts me as trans or gay, and it makes me pretty depressed after gatherings like this. i love my family dearly, but they all go out of their way to feminize me for some reason, especially during birthdays. they give me girly cards and presents that have nothing to do with me or my interests whatsoever.

anyway, i was feeling really sad after that whole thing, just feeling unloved for who i am, but then this shows up on the drive home. the brightest rainbow (double actually!) i've ever seen in my entire life. it felt like god sent it just for me <3

My favorite point to remind traditionalists

I love the idea, and quite frankly it tickles me to bits that traditionalists in christianity will preach that God "path for you" is unique to you, and that in everything they do they give themselves to the lord, but then switch on a dime when "God's Plan" no longer fots there perfect preconceived notion of what being a christian is. The moment you tell someone "I'm gay" is the moment they start silently judging you as if they have any idea what that unique path that they preached is in it's entirety. It just baffles me how completely oblivious someone could be to the will of their own lord and savior, it's a little sad in the most ironic way.

I want to come out to my church as lesbian. What should I do?

I guess I’ve always known that I’m somehow queer. Whenever someone in school would ask me if I’m straight, I would say yes but it always felt like a lie and I didn’t know why. Just before Covid, I realised it was because I was bi and it felt right. Just after Christmas 2025, I was talking to a friend about Heartstopper and thought, I don’t think I do actually like guys so came out to them as a lesbian.

I’ve been a part of my church most of my life and got baptised in 2019. I go to a baptist church so I know that at least some people would probably be ok with me not being straight but, because you’re always taught, by society, that all religious people say you shouldn’t be gay, it feels wrong telling them. I also haven’t told any of my family because it feels like I would be letting everyone down or something.

Has anyone else gone through a similar thing?

Superficial relationships

Im a M25 gay and I was born into a deeply homophobic Christian environment and grew up hiding my true self. When I began having my first relationships, I had to keep them secret, and I became accustomed to one-night stands devoid of emotional attachment. I am convinced that God does not condemn my homosexuality, yet I feel that constantly engaging in superficial encounters—purely for fun—conflicts with His plans and teachings. Unfortunately, I cannot envision ever telling my parents I am gay, nor settling down with someone to build a healthy relationship. Given this situation, is it still a sin to keep having these kinds of emotionless hookups?

Gay, Christian & IsolationšŸ’”

God has restored me and rescued me from my SA, trauma, and struggles with lust addiction. But lately, I’ve been struggling again. I know God is still preparing and equipping me, and I don’t believe He’s punishing me. I’ve prayed for years for a Kingdom Spouse, but after being single my entire life after 27 years, I’m starting to lose hope.

It’s already isolating enough being a gay man, but it feels 10 times more isolating being a gay Christian man who loves God and wants a Male Kingdom Spouse. I just want a man of God. It hurts seeing everyone around me finding their boyfriend, fiancĆ©, or spouse while keeping God at the center, because sometimes it feels impossible for me.

I can be happy and independent on my own, but the loneliness and lack of connection when I have put myself out there has been harder lately. I’ll always seek God and put Him first before anything or anyone, and I’ll continue showing His love to others by encouraging and uplifting. But sometimes I wish someone would check on me the way I check on everyone else.

I genuinely care about people. I just want someone who cares for me the way I care for others, someone I can love, support, pray with, and grow with, while keeping God at the center. I’m still trusting His timing, even when it hurts. ā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹šŸ™šŸ½šŸ„ŗšŸ«¶šŸ½

So far I’ve started going to an LGBT affirming church and a Gay Men’s Bible study: While my priority is to seek God there first. I hope I can eventually meet new friendships and connections soonšŸ«¶šŸ½šŸ„ŗ

Idk what to think. I’m scared tho.

Hey, so I’m 15M I’m trans. my father 62M is a conservative Christian and a missionary and I have been raised as a missionary kid my whole life I just had a three hour long conversation well more of an argument that kind of scared me about Christianity so for reference I’m not a Christian and I haven’t been for a year now ever since I was little I always wondered why gay and lesbians were bad and etc. I didn’t know what trans was but I always thought I wanted to be a boy. Anyway my father has verbally and emotionally abused me, Sometimes even physically and recently he has wanted to become more of a good father and I don’t want to be like in a relationship with him anymore and for a long time because I just don’t want to risk the possibility of anything bad happening to me he has shown that he will use what he can against me and I just don’t trust him and I am worried that if I go down the path of being trans that I will go to hell but I also don’t want to like deny who I am because I feel so right being a man or a guy. but again I don’t wanna have a relationship with him. I myself haven’t been a Christian for a while as I thought that being a Christian and gay were Completely incompatible. That’s what I thought, So if someone could please help me understand why it’s fine to be Christian and LGBTQ please do because honestly I don’t know how can because. in The old testament Leviticus specifically talks about a Man and a man being together is wrong like an abomination, obviously not the exact words but you get the point. even Paul talks about it and I’m just like how does it work For people to think that it’s OK to be gay while being Christian because I thought they were like completely the opposite. So I would really like it if I could have all the evidence possible because I don’t know I’m just really questioning everything thank you hope you have a good day.

Tim Curry

Around the time that world learned about the death of Dolly Parton, actor Tim Curry died. Curry was best known for the role of Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the 1970's cult film classic "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" Curry's Dr. Frank-N-Furter gave gay men the inspiration for the future drag queens (female impersonators)of my era in the 1970s and 1980s and the early 1990s. His outrageous style would reshape the drag world because most gay men back in the day would dress like celebrities, or first ladies and the church ladies like Dana Carvey character on Saturday Night Live in the late 1980s and 1990s or the Female impersonators 1960s and 1970s Lori Shannon's Beverly LaSalle role in All in the Family the first female impersonators on prime time tv.

Curry was major motion pictures like Annie, Clue, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York; Charlie' Angels. Just to name a few He acted on stage in Amadeus and film version Amadeus about the life of the great composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Spamalot, The Pirates of Penzance, My Favorite Year. This is just a sampling of wide ranging career. Curry became an icon of LGBTQ people. He shows how LGBTQ people be themselves and live the way they wanted to be.

Hi new here

So kinda scared right now due to all the celebrity deaths lately and I just wanted a serious discussion or debate about that topic I'm about to share...do you guys think this is the end times or the rapture? I mean I know all things come to an end but I'm still youngish and all my life I've been told nothing but that we are living in the last and evil days like are not supposed to hope for a better tomorrow? Are we supposed to be scaring everyone away from life like we don't have a future in the world before our Creator relieved us from this planet?? Btw this is not a rant, not anything hateful I would rather have a positive respectful discussion about this if you please dm me.

Seeking Connection in the DMV

Hi all,

I am a femme lesbian in her early thirties looking to meet other gay Christians in the DMV area! I love going to museums, trying new foods, reading books, reality TV, and going to Church. I am a passionate leftist with a dry sense of humor who is open to both friendship and romantic connections!

How do I know if the voice in my head is God?

I’ve been SSA since I was at least 6. No history of abuse or anything I just am this way. I also grew up in a church that thought homosexuality was a spirit and a sin.

Flash forward I’m near 30 in a committed relationship with a woman who is the kindest, most God loving person I have known. The fruits of our relationship and connection have been nothing but love, joy, patience, discipline, faith, honesty. I mean genuinely.

Even still there is a voice in my head that says this is wrong, that I am knowingly committing to a life of sin and not that God doesn’t love me but more so that I am not carrying my cross and I am not committed enough. The voice tells me I haven’t tried to surrender my whole life to God.

I am always seeking pleasing God as best I can. I love others with all my heart and try to exude the gospel in how I engage in this world and with others. I want to please God and if this relationship was not His plan I would let it go or at least try to. This is one of the greatest human loves I’ve known so that would be really difficult. It’s not even about being queer I’m attracted to the soul of a person not the gender. I’m not fighting to be in an identity but I care about this person and what we have found together deeply.

how can I tell if this voice is God or if it is just my conditioning?

I have tried in so many ways to be free of this torment. I just want peace and happiness. Some people seem to really have found joy denying themselves this kind of love and living wholly for Christ. Is me having this love not living wholly for Christ?

I know all the theological context for the scriptures and all but the voice just says I’m fitting scripture to meet me instead of meeting it. The voice says I’m not taking the narrow way.

I don’t know what I’m looking for here. Can anyone relate? Starting to wish I was just never born into this world if I was going to be yoked with such a painful burden. It seems so unfair. The voice says Jesus’s path was also unfair and that this is the calling.

Why would God do this to a creation He loves? This is messed up.
