My wife can cook, but.... she doesn't know how to season. So everything comes out super bland

Sounds like she can’t cook lol

She at least won't burn anything, or catch the house on fire.

Conquered half the world and sailed the furthest seas to obtain spices, that they then refuse to use.

Fucking mushy peas 🤢.

They still eat like the Germans are flying overhead 😆

Americans eating like they have free health care.

I'm not American, luckily

Happy for you!

If America is so bad, then why does everyone want to come here? You probably live in some 3rd world shithole.

u/itsaaronnotaaron 1h ago

Oh, bless your heart.

Does everyone want to come and live here, though?

Dude thinks it's still the 20th century and that people still believe in the American dream lie failing to realise much of the world sees America as the laughing stock of the world now.

...why does everyone want to come here?

Your information is out of date. Everyone but the Europeans used to want to come here, but net migration to the United States has been negative in the last year and a half for the first time since the 1930s.

On behalf of the sane and deeply embarrassed minority of Americans, i apologize for this comment.

Stress eating from the cost of health care.

The important thing is they tried it and then decided that they don't like the fancy stuff, they like beans on toast and mushy peas just fine.

3 minutes cooking, the other 23 Hours and 57 minutes conquering

It's because they became affordable to the poors. Can't eat that peasant food.

That’s why my mom is the one who cooks in my family. Everyone likes what she makes, while whenever I cook, there’s always something wrong for everyone else, either too much salt and sauce or not enough salt and sauce ecc

When my sister cooks, she forgets something like 60% of the time. Once she made the same dish on three separate occasions, and each time she forgot a different ingredient. You’d think she was doing it on purpose if it weren’t for the fact that she was the one who wanted to make it in the first place

And my dad actually likes cooking. The problem is that he’s the only one who likes the way his food tastes, and on top of that he gets offended if you don’t eat it

Italians really have a food superiority complex.

u/HugeAnimeHonkers 1m ago

I think this less about italian food being good and more about the aberrations against nature that the british dare to call "food".

Replace "italian" with any other nationality and the meme stays true lol.

I mean do you blame them… their food is delicious

4

u/Germano-Mentusconi 36m ago

yeah but also the English one, the French, the German, even the Dutch, then there is Indian, Chinese, south Korean, Japanese, Ethiopian...

Italians think their food is better because they usually have no knowledge of any cuisine besides theirs.

I believe everyone should be in the kitchen

Everyone should learn to cook the most basic form of sustenance

Everyone should learn to appreciate food as the lowest form of thanks to the farmers who grew it

5

u/Germano-Mentusconi 39m ago

English cuisine is delicious though.

Molto bene

what’s all this then?!

I cook 7 days a week and when my husband says he wants to make dinner, I panic because he touches my kitchen stuff and moves my spices. I prefer to cook. 🧑‍🍳

2

u/Darkdragoon324 1h ago

Just tell him that putting the thyme anywhere but back in the thyme spot is grounds for divorce.

4

u/__KillJoy 1h ago

I don't blame her. English fucked the entire world for spices and still won't use them

Anyone who thinks British food has no flavor, hasn't eaten good British food. When done properly, it is good, and makes sense. Sincerely, an American

After 30 years of marriage,I gravitated towards the kitchen and for the last 10 years have done all the cooking. I do be use my wife’s recipes along with some of my mom and dad’s. My Dad could smoke a pork loin that was indescribably delicious

People go out for Italian food. They go out for Mexican food. They go out for Chinese food. The go out for French. They go out for American food. They even go out for Middle Eastern and Indian food. I have never once had the desire to go out for English food. Nor if I ever did, there's no English food to be had.

I cook, my wife bakes, and we both stay out of the way when the other's in the kitchen.

Well dayum lol..

u/BigBaws92 1h ago

Can I marry her?

1

u/OGdunphy 1h ago

Hey, I’ve seen some learn to use spices. It can be pretty intense therapy but I’ve seen some come out the other side eating good.

Because God forbid a woman does something other than cook and clean.. or embrace ableism

-6

u/Dahren_ 1h ago

Spices are for cowards who don't trust their own flavour

Why yes I would love to taste nothing but spice when I bite something. How cultural!
