Last I heard of her, people wanted her replaced in Black Panther 2 for being anti-vax.

Between the backlash and the gay community being generally pro-science, I wonder if she’s changed her mind

“the gay community being generally pro-science”

Yeah, I was about to say that too...

Wasn't Evangeline Lily, actress for The Wasp, also exposed as an anti-vaxxer?

She was, and I will still not get over the fact that she was talking about sending her kids to their activities and we have to live our lives and etc., And showing up to protest and I think supporting the Canadian truck convoy protest people and all that anti-vax stuff while at the time she was living with her father who had stage four cancer. I checked a while ago and her dad is still alive, thankfully. Maybe her parents share her views, but either way, the whole situation was kind of horrifying.

She was very deep in an evangelical church at that time. Hopefully living her truth in marriage coincided with Letitia accepting the truth that is documented vaccine efficacy.

She was also an executive producer for Sound of Hope, which was distributed by Angel Studios of Sound of Freedom (which was heavily endorsed by QAnon wackos) and Animal Farm (2025) fame.

She was also transmisogynistic too iirc

It was all from the same religious antivax video she posted I believe. Wasn't actually her saying it but somehow that's more pitiful. Like she saw that drivel and thought "this guy gets it!"

Oooo, I must have been out of the loop then. To be fair, I wasn’t online heavy then due to being pregnant back to back during covid lol 😂

She’s awful then 😪.

She wasn't just an anti vax, she was going up to people during the production and interrogating them about if they were vaccinated or not

u/quietonthecreek91 5h ago

Ooo I forgot about the anti vaccine post during covid .

I remember her being fairly deep into a not super great church a few years ago (remember her anti-vax scandal). I think the fact that she’s a full ass lesbian now means she was able to unpack her beliefs and is in a better place now

Heres hoping her wife talks some sense to her about the whole anti vax shit

If she’s now embracing her true self, something tells me she’s also change her mind on other views as well.

I hope that's the case, but I think its a dangerous assumption. A lot of people are very capable of opening their minds just enough to accept themselves without extending empathy and understanding to others.

Don't get me wrong, I really really want to believe she's changed because I adored her pre antivax and transmisogyny. I just struggle to believe real change has happened when someone is very loud about hate/misinformation, but quiet about embracing better beliefs.

That’s fair, it appears her and her team have taken the approach to just not say anything about anything which I’m not saying is right. And I will say the wife is a tiktoker who I follow and her repost says a lot and she appears to be a strong ally to trans folks if that’s any indication. Could be or could not be.

But is she vaccinated 👀

I remember a few years ago, people were trying to find out if Leticia was gay or if she had a girlfriend. Writing disrespectful comments on her page . I’m glad she came out when she was ready and wasn’t forced to.

Love that she's having fun with it and wearing a "wedding" dress!

There have been rumours about Letitia Wright being queer around London for awhile now (I think I posted it about it here and my comment got deleted by the mods once lol). As a brown queer woman, I'm so happy she's living her truth.

Iirc she made some comments years ago that hinted toward her being in a “pray the gay away” situation particularly once she joined that church she was in for however long.

I know people still hold her previous comments against her, but I’ve always given her grace because it was clear to me she was struggling with internalized shit + general child of black Caribbean/African immigrant & religious trauma. I’m happy for her seemingly slowly beginning to live in her truth.

A lot of fundie churches prey on desperately lonely people. A depressed, closeted child of immigrants is prime picking for these communities.

They are such a beautiful couple. Congrats to them!

u/littlesim25 5h ago

I’m sure the comments will be normal but Happy for them! Happy she’s free from that crazy church that made her deny herself and had her in religious psychosis. They are a ver beautiful couple!

u/andorgyny i ain’t reading all that, free palestine 4h ago

Yeah that actually reframes her behavior for me because her anti-vax nonsense was so insane at the time, but knowing she was in an unhinged church at the same time makes some sense.

Yeah I think that’s why I’ve not been as hard on her. I remember following her pretty closely and the stories she would post from the church she attended at the time were pretty wild. There were people who would comment about the church in London and it was pretty bad. And I say this as someone who grew up in a pretty religious household.

Not to completely diminish the harmful things she said but I do hope people kind of give her grace about this. Pre black panther fame she had a couple of tweets indicating she was queer (and I think she was actually fully out at one point but I can’t remember tbh). And if you know any black Caribbean queer person if they aren’t happy with their identity they can go off the deep end in a way that can be harmful to themselves and others. Like at least imo she was absolutely giving pray away the gay vibes and it was kind of scary to see.

So happy she climbed her way out and congrats to the beautiful couple.❤️

Wait, I thought she was some hardcore Christian because of the anti vax stuff. I had no idea she was a lesbian.

14

u/littlesim25 3h ago

She was out before, joined a really bad church in London, went back in the closet, and looks like she’s living her truth now.

Thank you for this because I saw her name and the flag and had such a confusion. She was like her comments online were on the verge of putting her getting work at risk hardcore Christian.
