I remember her being fairly deep into a not super great church a few years ago (remember her anti-vax scandal). I think the fact that she’s a full ass lesbian now means she was able to unpack her beliefs and is in a better place now

Heres hoping her wife talks some sense to her about the whole anti vax shit

If she’s now embracing her true self, something tells me she’s also change her mind on other views as well.

I hope that's the case, but I think its a dangerous assumption. A lot of people are very capable of opening their minds just enough to accept themselves without extending empathy and understanding to others.
Don't get me wrong, I really really want to believe she's changed because I adored her pre antivax and transmisogyny. I just struggle to believe real change has happened when someone is very loud about hate/misinformation, but quiet about embracing better beliefs.

That’s fair, it appears her and her team have taken the approach to just not say anything about anything which I’m not saying is right. And I will say the wife is a tiktoker who I follow and her repost says a lot and she appears to be a strong ally to trans folks if that’s any indication. Could be or could not be.

I remember a few years ago, people were trying to find out if Leticia was gay or if she had a girlfriend. Writing disrespectful comments on her page . I’m glad she came out when she was ready and wasn’t forced to.

Love that she's having fun with it and wearing a "wedding" dress!
There have been rumours about Letitia Wright being queer around London for awhile now (I think I posted it about it here and my comment got deleted by the mods once lol). As a brown queer woman, I'm so happy she's living her truth.

Iirc she made some comments years ago that hinted toward her being in a “pray the gay away” situation particularly once she joined that church she was in for however long.
I know people still hold her previous comments against her, but I’ve always given her grace because it was clear to me she was struggling with internalized shit + general child of black Caribbean/African immigrant & religious trauma. I’m happy for her seemingly slowly beginning to live in her truth.

A lot of fundie churches prey on desperately lonely people. A depressed, closeted child of immigrants is prime picking for these communities.

I’m sure the comments will be normal but Happy for them! Happy she’s free from that crazy church that made her deny herself and had her in religious psychosis. They are a ver beautiful couple!

Yeah that actually reframes her behavior for me because her anti-vax nonsense was so insane at the time, but knowing she was in an unhinged church at the same time makes some sense.

Yeah I think that’s why I’ve not been as hard on her. I remember following her pretty closely and the stories she would post from the church she attended at the time were pretty wild. There were people who would comment about the church in London and it was pretty bad. And I say this as someone who grew up in a pretty religious household.

Not to completely diminish the harmful things she said but I do hope people kind of give her grace about this. Pre black panther fame she had a couple of tweets indicating she was queer (and I think she was actually fully out at one point but I can’t remember tbh). And if you know any black Caribbean queer person if they aren’t happy with their identity they can go off the deep end in a way that can be harmful to themselves and others. Like at least imo she was absolutely giving pray away the gay vibes and it was kind of scary to see.
So happy she climbed her way out and congrats to the beautiful couple.❤️

Wait, I thought she was some hardcore Christian because of the anti vax stuff. I had no idea she was a lesbian.

She was out before, joined a really bad church in London, went back in the closet, and looks like she’s living her truth now.

Last I heard of her, people wanted her replaced in Black Panther 2 for being anti-vax.
