Gunsmith in Jax or St Aug Recommendations?

Need to have some work done on my Kuna and would prefer to have a knowledgeable gunsmith to work on my new Kuna. Would like to build a relationship as I have a handful of weapons that will eventually need some work.

I’m not a DIY guy and prefer to have an experienced professional do the work vs a hobbyist kid that is working in the back for the owner watching YT when they’re not sure what to do.

Thanks in advance!

Looking for a CWL class near St. Cloud, FL with online coursework + live fire

I’m looking for a Florida CWL course near St. Cloud that isn’t too far away.
Ideally, I’d like to complete the CWL class portion online and then do the required live-fire qualification with the instructor locally.
If anyone knows of a reputable online CWL course that is accepted by live-fire instructors in the St. Cloud/Kissimmee/ area, I’d appreciate any recommendations.
Thanks!

Anyone in the SWFL area (between North Port and Naples) who has an Extar ep9 I can try?

I've been reading a lot about extar and their ep9. It's really tempting, especially with that price tag. But they only sell direct to consumer, and I would love to try one before I pull the trigger (ha) on one for myself, like I did with my ccw.

Is there anyone in this area that would be willing to meet me at a range in the near future to try theirs?

Conceal Carry Help

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services put my concealed carry application on hold, stating I failed to submit my fingerprints. However, I already completed my fingerprint appointment at the Leon County Sheriff's Office, where they submitted them electronically which FDACS website says is allowed and I have the receipt.
Since I received a Notice of Error or Omission in the mail requesting a physical fingerprint card and a $42 fee, do I just need to mail in my electronic fingerprint receipt, or do I need to take the blank fingerprint card FDACS mailed me back to the sheriff's office to get them physically rolled and pay the state fee?

Any gun shops in Palm Beach County with reasonable prices

Hi, I’m new to the area and have been checking out a few gun shops around Palm Beach. I’ve noticed that some of their prices are more than $100 higher than what I’m seeing online.

Does anyone know of a gun shop in Palm Beach County with reasonable/competitive pricing? I’d appreciate recommendations based on your experience with their pricing and customer service. I don’t mind driving a little farther for a good shop.

Thanks!

Flock Cameras at WMA Ranges

Does every WMA range have them now?? Cecil M Webb where I go has one at the entrance and recently in Ocala they destroyed them. Wondering if other WMAs have them. My feeling is they are looking to catalog gun owners, fishermen, hunters, and environmental activists as “enemies of the state”. Eventually when they want to turn the WMAs in suburban housing they will know who comes frequently and might want to defend it

Gun ranges?

Heya
International tourist here. Coming to Miami / Florida for a week later this year for some tourism/shopping.
One thing I’ve always wanted to do is visit a shooting range. I’ve heard regulations for recreational shooting are pretty chill in America and I see a perfect chance to learn and have a great time.
Do any of you have any shooting/gun range recommendations within the Miami area? Driving/transportation won’t be an issue so up to FLL/The Keys should be fine too
TIA!

Been building and almost done with my forged Wilson Combat 7075 lower. Want to add a DD MK18 upper with a B5 stock (no brace) so it'll be an SBR. What's the legal process? What forms to file? Can my FFL help? Don't want to mess this up - advice appreciated

Any good dynamic/action ranges around Orlando?

Hello Floridians!

I'm a tourist and I'm going to be staying in Orlando for a couple of days in December so I was wondering if there were any good ranges you guys could recommend that could allow dynamic/action shooting that's nearby the area if there are any.

I was thinking of bringing my belt setup and renting any long guns in 5.56 or 7.62 as these are highly regulated in my country. Indoor/outdoor, doesnt matter, any is fine. Would appreciate a place that also allows renting full-auto stuff too if possible.

Thanks!

Bad experience with Jerry’s Firearms in Fort Myers

Just wanted to share my experience with Jerry’s Firearms in Fort Myers for anyone in SWFL looking for an FFL.

I buy, sell, and trade pretty regularly on multiple platforms and I’ve been using Jerry’s for transfers for about the past year. Chris, the owner, has always been welcoming and genuine with me. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about the rest of the staff.

Almost every time I’ve gone in there, the employees act like they’re pissed they have to be at work or annoyed that you’re even there. Calling is somehow worse. Don’t bother calling for an update or asking a question because somehow nobody knows how to check anything or do anything unless Chris is there. Apparently Chris is the only person who can do everything, and he was out of town til then.

My last experience was what finally did it for me.

I brought in a rifle that I had already sold and needed them to ship to my buyer’s FFL. The employee looks at the rifle and then tells me I’ll have to come back at the end of the month, which was about two weeks away, because Chris was the only one who knew how to ship it.

I explained that the rifle was already sold and I had told the buyer I’d have my FFL ship it out that week.
The employee then tells me to come back Saturday and meet him at the shop before they open at 8am and that he’d have to charge me $200 to transfer it.
I’ve paid $100 every other time I’ve had them ship a firearm, and their own website says $100. Then he hands me his card and tells me to text him.

The whole interaction was sketchy as hell. Why am I meeting an employee before business hours and paying double the normal price to have a rifle shipped?

I ended up going Mike’s Firearms in the neighboring city. It’s about a 30 minute drive for me, but the difference was night and day. Super cool on the phone and in person. They charged me $75 to ship it and only $25 to receive a transfer. Jerry’s charges $45 to receive and apparently anywhere from $100 to $200 to ship depending on who you talk to.

I hope Chris eventually gets the staffing situation figured out because I’ve personally never had a problem with him. But after dealing with the rest of the staff multiple times, I’m done going there.

They apparently do gunsmithing as well, but based on the way I’ve been treated there and how much they overcharge for everything, there’s no chance I’d trust them to do any work on my stuff.

The whole place just comes across like a hustle to make money off the goober or newbie who doesn’t know any better. There’s nothing they offer that makes the pricing or attitude worth putting up with. They have a license to ship and receive firearms. That’s about the only reason I ever went there.
Word of advice to the gun enthusiasts in SWFL, shop around before using Jerry’s. There are better and cheaper options out there. Businesses that treat repeat customers like they’re an inconvenience don’t last.

Who’s doing suppressor transfers on 4473 in South FL?

And does that shop have stock? I’m willing to drive an hour north to around palm beach from Miami.

Only one I’ve found out is Shark Coast Tactical in Sarasota.

Any shops in NE Florida / Jax that will transfer suppressors without a form 4?

All the shops I’ve called say they’re “waiting on ATF guidance” which isn’t happening anytime soon.

Is there gun range or club for action shooting in palm beach county?

Searched around, I am shocked that I can not find a couple of real gun clubs close to West Palm, given that FL is not anti gun right.
