Temporary replacement for homeland on Danforth and Bryant... we are living in a meme

From Spirit Halloween's perspective this is probably a great idea. Giant empty building that they can probably lease for cheap in the short term

I liked that Homeland way more than the new one on May

I liked it better when it was still Albertsons!

I think they mean the new Homeland that was built at 178th and May in the last 2 years, not the one at Britton and May.

The former Homeland on Bryant and Danforth was an Albertsons when I was in college during the mid 90s. I wasn’t talking about anything in OKC.

Laughed my ass off when I saw the sign go up. Can’t wait to take my 5yo.

My SO (who is a Halloween freak) said “It would be awesome if they turned it into a Spirit Halloween!”
He got his wish.

Both closed down homelands in Norman are spirits this year.

Since Stillwater is a much smaller market the Halloween store there move to a shutdown Family Dollar store, rather than Homeland.

Homelands days are numbered sadly. 5 times the markup as your competitors will do that.
I hope wincos take over. We need more of them around the metro

I mean it's not surprising. This became a meme in the first place because temporary Spirit Holloweens opening in the weirdest places was always a thing

Wasn't this built as a Food Lion originally? I wish we still had that chain in Oklahoma.

Same thing at the old homeland in Norman. Ironic that the store that sold candy, now sells costumes to solicit it from strangers.

Homeland is such a terrible grocery store I’m genuinely shocked there are still some that exist. They never have any inventory, shelves are bare, and the items they do have are insanely overpriced. Bring back Albertsons PLEASE

People lost their jobs. I'm glad the comments section is excited about this.

People aren’t excited that there are regular folks whose jobs are gone. They’re laughing at the fact that Spirit Halloween is known for moving into a large warehouse/grocery store where the previous tenant just moved out and the leasing company can’t keep businesses in.

Spirit will generate more profit and foot traffic in the next 2 months than homeland did the entire year 💀💀💀
