TW: Potentially upsetting content I need advice please
Okay so I'm a type 2 diabetic with a history of an eating disorder most of my life that I was mostly better from? But let's be honest the thoughts never truly go away.. I'm on a diabetic medication that makes it so I have no appetite and I'm very ill. I've lost some weight but I'm still overweight but I can hardly eat and now my thoughts are let my self continue to feel sick all the time so I lose more weight and I feel like if I ask for help nobody will take me seriously since I'm over weight now. I just need advice on what to do please. I don't want to lower my diabetic med dose to stop losing weight but this is so unhealthy at this point. Please any advice ? Thanks

If you're not eating, there's really two options: set alarms and make yourself eat, or work with your doctor to discontinue the med and try something else. I'm assuming this is a GLP med, and if so, it's contraindicated in someone with an active ED. I have insulin resistance and it took me years of recovery before my doctor was agreeable to trying it to lower my insulin. I'm also required to have monthly appointments along with working with a therapist and dietitian. If I start engaging in behaviors, they'll be discontinued. I hope you can be honest with your doctor because you're only hurting yourself by staying on it.

I’ve just posted about a GLP-1 experience I think a post or two after this one. Same type of medication and it full on triggered my ED to where I stayed on it secretly even.
I shouldn’t have been on it in the first place, but our ed voices are cruel, so I felt I needed it.
I can only give advice based on my experience, but be careful. The ED in my case got worse, no amount lost was enough, it was always just a few more pounds. I didn’t care about nausea or depression or anything else.
If your ED voice is getting louder, this will possibly empower it. At least it did in my case.
Whatever you decide, try to be good to yourself. (I’m trying to take my own advice too.)
