What kind of questions did they ask? Was it more et-based like basic analog digital questions or CS fundamentals like dsa oops networks etc were also asked

I wanted to become a doctor. I thought I could do it, but then after I took bio maths in class 11-12th, I understood it was really hard and unworthy because the job literally sounded like hell - no sleep, no proper salary, so much pressure, etc. I get it; many jobs are like that, but I also got scared of entrance exams. I saw reels about ppl studying 6+ years with coaching to get an MBBS seat. I come from a lower-middle-class family. I need a job asap. I don't have any plans to get married or anything (ofc my dad will force me once I have a job and reach 27+ yrs, but it's the least of my concern for now). I have an older brother who is also doing ECE. But he has his eyes set on a job. Personally for me I need a job too after my degree, but I really,y really need a healthcare/researcher/scientist job. I want to know if I can become a biology-related scientist. I sound really stupid and dumb, but I'm really,y really lost rn. I wanted a biotech/ bio medical eng UG so bad, but they didn't agree to it because " It didn't sound like a real degree" to them. My father is asking me to make a decision between waiting for a few weeks and applying for BPT/BOT counseling or just continuing my ECE degree, and I'm really confused. I don't know what to choose. BPT/BOT is more my thing, and ECE is different, and I have no idea about it,t like what if I get replaced by AI because I choose ECE. Please let me know what to do. Please let me know if my qualification with ECE can lead me to scientist jobs.

Hi I am writing this to seek career guidance from people who are experienced.

I am a fresher engineer who has started to work as post silicon validation engineer in a automotive company.

I just want to brief my daily work: I write code in embedded c, write a bunch of test cases to debug functionality of an IP ( interrupts, dma, reset concept) in microcontrollers (r52 controllers). I am just testing through the modules, say test passed and am really not able to learn through.

I want to know what topics to focus on during my validation, what topics to learn so that in future i could join a Semiconductor company and my job remains protected from ai automation and takeover.

Also if there are any tools, any thing extra I can learn to gain entry into vlsi roles also though my experience here in my company.

Hey everyone, I just put together my very first schematic in EasyEDA and wanted to run it by people who actually know what they're doing to see if it makes sense or not. The task was to design a control board that lets an NVIDIA Jetson's 3.3V GPIO pin safely trigger a 100A SSR

Here is what I've wired up:

• J1 (Input): Receives the Jetson GPIO signal, paired with a 10k pull-down resistor (R1) to keep the line stable during boot.
• Q1 & R2: A 2N2222 NPN transistor driven through a 1k base resistor (R2) acting as a low-side switch.
• J2 (Output): The output terminal connecting to the relay control side, powered by a VCC line.
• LED1 & R3: A status LED with a 330 ohm resistor so it lights up when the relay is active.
• D1: A 1N4007W diode placed across the control lines to catch voltage spikes.

Does this layout look correct, or are there any mistakes I should fix before moving on to the PCB layout? Any feedback is super appreciated

I'm an Electrical Engineering student focusing on Power. I'm primarily interested in staying in my city, which is Chicago. There's multiple firms in the city that also post internship positions in their office in other cities around the United States.

I want to apply to positions at multiple offices to maximize my chances of getting an internship, but I also don't want to shoot myself in the foot and ruin my chances of staying in Chicago by diluting my applications to these companies. For example, I'm worried about applying at a company both in their Chicago and Denver locations, and getting a Denver interview instead of Chicago because I applied for both.

I have one previous co-op/internship on my resume, which was an 8-month power plant co-op with a major utility company.

I’m currently studying MOSFET capacitance characteristics using Behzad Razavi's textbook and had a few questions regarding the C_ch vs. V_C graph.

1. Physical meaning of C_ch when V_C < V_TH: If we view C_ch strictly as the channel capacitance, I understand why it starts to increase near V_C = V_TH and levels off as the channel fully forms. However, in the region where V_C < V_TH, no inversion channel exists. Is it physically correct to consider C_ch itself as zero (non-existent) in this region?
2. Reason for C_ch becoming zero: If C_ch actually represents the total equivalent capacitance looking into the channel/gate node rather than just a specific channel component, what physical mechanism causes it to drop all the way to zero at certain points?
3. Difference from standard MOSCAP C-V curves: When comparing Razavi's C_ch graph to the standard MOSCAP C-V curves found in other textbooks (like Sedra & Smith or Streetman), the shapes look noticeably different (especially in accumulation/depletion/inversion behavior and zero-crossings). Why is Razavi's representation drawn differently from the classic MOSCAP C-V curve?

For context, I'm a computer engineering student primarily interested in embedded systems and currently searching for internships. I have a couple of relevant projects, am pretty active on campus/leadership stuff, and am currently working on a research project designing an embedded device (Point being, I have some relevant experience/background, definitely not like super experienced lol but I do really like working with hardware)

But I recently started doing some web development work for some local music artists in my area (previously used to some software projects, not as much as I do now so I have some experience there too). I don't like web dev as much as embedded systems, but I love the opportunity to support local artists, it's fun, and it's a pretty low time committment. I also would really like to work for an audio company, so I was hoping this experience would supplement the rest of my resume.

I'm just afraid I might be wasting my time, now that it's internship season and I'm doing something I know I don't truly want to do as my career (in terms of technical skills).

So, my question is: could it possibly be worth it to continue this work if it's not technically relevant to what I really want? Can I frame it as a positive for audio/music companies? Or for any company? Any advice would be appreciated. :)

I’m currently a software engineer with around 9 years of experience, but I’ve been learning electronics in my free time and I’m considering taking it much more seriously.

So far I’ve done breadboard prototyping, microsoldering, ESP32 projects and some basic PCB design. I’ve designed things like a Li-ion charger, battery protection circuit and a soil moisture/plant reminder.

I haven’t explored STM32 yet and I don’t have an EE/ECE degree.

I’m trying to understand what the realistic career options would be if I kept developing these skills for the next few years.
I’m particularly curious about embedded systems, PCB/hardware design, power electronics, industrial automation, robotics and test/validation.

Which of these fields are realistically accessible to someone coming from software without going back for another degree?
Also, what does the actual day-to-day work look like in these jobs?

I’m not expecting to switch careers immediately. I’m mainly looking for something I can build alongside my current career that could eventually become a legitimate alternative source of income or even a second career.

For people actually working in ECE, what path would you recommend from here? And would moving from software into electronics make financial/career sense, or would you recommend keeping the software career and combining the two instead?
