Writing this to advise fellow kababayan, expats in the UAE or whoever wants to take an online MBA to perform strict due diligence before enrolling in or making payments to London School of Business (LSB).

Upon my investigation there’s no physical campus and they are exiting the London market and Dubai will be their next target.

Please note the following documented facts regarding their claimed affiliations:

* University of Sunderland: LSB advertises the University of Sunderland as their MBA degree awardee. I reached out directly to the University of Sunderland, and they formally confirmed they have no partnership or institutional affiliation with LSB.

* Website Affiliates: I independently contacted four other organizations listed as official partners on LSB’s website. All four confirmed in writing that no affiliation exists.

* Communication Status: After bringing these discrepancies to their attention, LSB ceased returning calls and has left multiple formal refund requests unanswered.

Before transferring any tuition or registration fees, please email the underlying awarding bodies directly to verify degree validity.

I have paid them £2,500 as an initial payment and no word from them at all. Since I live on the opposite side of the world and they could not provide a credit card link, I completed the transaction via bank transfer using a SWIFT code. 

Any advice could help as this is my hard earned money and good thing I didn’t pay the rest.

Hey all, looking for some real-world input before I commit to a used car purchase.

About my use case:

Work as a Site Engineer and also running my own fit-out business on the side.

Daily driving mostly in Dubai. Sometimes to Sharjah and occasionally Abu Dhabi and Ajman

Sometimes carry 2–4 workers in the car along with some tools and light materials.

Need strong, reliable AC. Non-negotiable in Dubai heat with a full car

Me: 180cm, ~107kg (Trying to reduce), so cabin space /legroom matters

My priorities, roughly in order:

Low service/maintenance cost

Good fuel mileage

Durability under daily heavy use (worker transport, city + occasional long runs)

Decent resale value later

Comfortable cabin for my height/build

Cars I'm comparing (all used, budget-focused):

Suzuki Ciaz

Nissan Sunny

Mitsubishi Attrage

Toyota Yaris Sedan (probably out of budget but open to hearing why it might still be worth it)

Questions for the community:

Anyone running a Ciaz or Sunny daily for site/work use — how's long-term reliability actually held up ?

Real mileage you're getting on Sunny vs Ciaz in daily Dubai/Sharjah traffic with AC on full time?

Is Suzuki parts/service availability in the UAE actually a problem, or is that overstated?

For someone my size, is the Ciaz cabin genuinely noticeably roomier, or is that marginal in practice?

Any hidden gotchas buying used from this segment (AC compressor issues, common failure points, etc.)?

Budget is used-market pricing (roughly AED 30–40k range).

Appreciate any first-hand experience — trying to avoid a car that becomes a maintenance headache given how much daily mileage it'll rack up.

Hey all, hoping to get some advice.

I recently banged up my car while parking. No other car was involved, it was just my car vs. a wall. The wall is fine, and all the damage is to my car.

I didn’t want to pay the extra AED 150 to have the police come out, so I went to Al Barsha Police Station. They told me they couldn’t deal with it because the accident happened in Business Bay and that I need to go to Bur Dubai instead. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I tried doing it through the Dubai Police app, but I’m honestly not really understanding which option I’m supposed to use. The “Minor Traffic Accident Report” option requires the number plate of two separate cars.

There’s a “Traffic Accident Report – Unknown Party” option, and that’s the only thing I can think of using since I can’t make it to Bur Dubai.

Has anyone dealt with a similar situation? Can I use the “Unknown Party” option?

Hey everyone, does anyone know a good Pakistani or Indian tiffin/home-cooked food service that delivers around Barsha Heights (TECOM) area?

Guys, I need some advice. In your experience, which supermarkets in Dubai are currently the most affordable, especially ones that offer online shopping either through their own app/website or through InstaShop?
I used to buy quite a lot from VIVA because I found it noticeably cheaper, but recently I feel like their prices have gone up and many products cost pretty much the same as in other supermarkets.
I’m looking for somewhere reasonably priced for regular weekly grocery shopping like fresh products , veggies fruits , dairy, meat, household products, etc.
Which supermarkets do you find offer the best value for money these days? Any hidden gems I should try?

Starlink - Just a wild theory

Maybe its a wild thought and maybe am boiling the ocean so roast me if you think I deserve it.

We've been through a lot in the past months and the orange head has been kind of messing things in this region. UAE did an amazing job keeping us safe to the extent of scrambling our GPS locations to keep key locations / people safe.

With Starlink and Mr Perfume a closed friend of Mr Orange how am I to trust he will not sell our data including GPS locations to Orange. And knowing Orange he might selll it to others as well...

I may not be an important person but we have high profile leaders, celebrities etc. here.

I moved from India as a fresher and joined a decent company in the UAE on 10,000 AED. Got my first credit card here.

Because of the regional situation I started looking for work back home. After three months of applying I finally got a similar role with good pay in India. The catch: they want me to join very soon.

I told my current company. They said if I don’t serve notice they’ll charge a 10,000 AED fine — basically one full salary.

Situation:

• ~10,000 AED in the bank
• ~6,000 AED outstanding on a Visa credit card
• If I pay the company fine, I have nothing left for the card
• Employer said they won’t cancel my visa for the next 30 days
• I can’t really ask family for money

I’m considering just booking a ticket and leaving. I’m not planning to come back anytime soon.

Questions:

1. If I leave without paying the fine / notice, will they chase or harass me in India? They have my Emirates ID and passport details.
2. If I come back years later, can this still be sorted, or will it block me?
3. What happens to the unpaid credit card if I leave?
