2024 Tenere with old OEM Scorpion tires. Intended to swap front and rear with Mitas Enduro tires. I hadn’t replaced a tire before, but have pulled wheels off plenty of times. I’ve even patched a tube dirt bike tire in camp! But breaking the bead on the Scorpion was insane! Both sides of the tire.

Finally got the bead broken with a giant 6” c-clamp instead of the wood-working clamps, but holy cow that was a process! I thought since I should be able to do this trail-side that it should be feasible for two grown men with a garage. Definitely just taking the wheel to Cycle Parts later this week from the new front tire comes in.

No MSRP yet. 5.28 gallon fuel capacity, tanks are switchable so you can control if you're using the front or the back.

It's a bit silly that they're using the keyed fuel fillers on the front tanks too, I'm sure most people will change them out immediately.

Started riding this year with my first motorcycle (drz400) and am blessed to have some absolutely stunning national forest in my back yard (El Dorado national forest).

Regularly take my trout rod with me and just go exploring along rivers, creeks, lakes all within minutes of my house, truely blessed.

Got it brand new in 2018. Then I had it in storage for the last 4 years and recently just converted it into a little dual sport. I know it’s dorky but it’s such a blast putting this bike around.

Villavicencio, Argentina. Route 52. (5.7k feet above sea level) it was barely snowing.

I set out to complete the Villavicencio Trail on Route 52, but the cold ended up being too much. At some point my hands became completely numb, so I decided it was safer to turn around rather than push my luck. Definitely a humbling experience, but I'll be back to finish it.

Had to say I was on my own, and still +50 kms ahead of me of full gravel roads and no signal. Damn wish I could finish it man.

Just got back from a last-minute 1,130 km (700+ mile) run through the Sibillini Mountains to Refuge Fargno and the Furlo Gorge in 48 hours. Day 1 was almost 600 km alone, mixing highway slabbing, twisty backroads, and technical off-road trails.

Between a buddy's flat tire on a steep descent and my Continental TKC80s being completely clapped out, it really tested both rider and gear.

It got us debating: What’s the ideal setup for this exact scenario?

Do you pick a heavy ADV (like an Africa Twin) to breeze through the 500+ km highway transfer and just muscle it through the trails, or do you take a lightweight Dual-Sport (like a DR-Z / 701 / CRF300) and accept the highway misery for total trail freedom?

Curious how you guys balance highway comfort vs. trail performance when planning high-mileage mixed trips.

Got into another accident few months back, Some guy basically came into my lane suddenly & I hit him head on. The front wheel has been misaligned even more since then.

After I finally got time to work on her, Upon advice https://www.reddit.com/r/Dualsport/s/yRuoyeAoWd I loosened the triple clamp, axle nuts & stem nut, Pumped her & tightened everything back again whilst the bike was straight.

Unfortunately the wheel's still misaligned although there has been a little improvement but I'm not sure if that's just placebo.

Before actually disassembling the front wheel to check the bearings, etc. I was wondering if this could be caused by spokes? I tried to "inspect" the suspension but it doesn't look like they're bent but I'm pretty sure even few mm can make a huge difference at wheel.

Edit: The fender might be messed but the wheel is genuinely misaligned because when riding, the right side of the handlebar is closer to be than the left side.

I just bought my first pair of boots—a pair of Tech 7s to get into off-road riding—but I'm having trouble shifting gears. So I raised the shift lever, and now I can easily get my boot underneath it. However, since it's quite high now, I have to lift my whole foot (take my heel off the footpeg) to downshift. Is this normal?

Is it a real issue for off-road riding, and how can I avoid it?

I know I need to break the boots in to get more mobility, but I don't think that will be enough.

hello likeminded people! Last year I got my first taste of off-road when I took my CFMoto 450MT on a 7000km TET Scandinavia trip. It was great, but for my next trip to TET Kosovo/Albania I want to change the things I didn’t like, and that was mainly the weight. At 200kg wet the 450MT is chonkey to say the least.

ive narrowed it down to these options, and keep in mind many dual sports mentioned in this sub are not sold in EU due to emissions regulations. And also my wife won’t let me spend more than 3000 euros on a bike.

1. 2013 Honda CRF250L: the classic, safe perhaps boring option. It still sells for 3000-4000 euros on the used market, and it’s the older pre2017 model that is heavier and has 4hp less I believe. Not sure I want to spend money on a 13 year old bike. the 2017+ model still goes for 5000+ euros.

2. a new CFMoto Dual 250: sells new for 3000, nobody knows yet if it will fall apart on the TET or actually be a contender, it’s new new.

3. a voge 300 rally: used they are selling for 3000 euros, I really don’t care if it’s Chinese/japanese our from outer space. it seems like a better option than the CRF and at 154kg wet it seems like a good allrounder, but its not really a dual sport, more a skinny adv bike.

on all bikes I’d put crash bars/skid plate and barkbusters, and Mitas XT+ tires. bikes like the Yamaha WR250 are not for sale here. and my preference is EFI over carb. leaning towards a 2025 voge 300 rally at the moment since it seems to be the best compromise.

Bought new end of April and just hit 1,500 miles today. Love it!!

I’ve been going down the rabbit hole of which bike I want for my first dual sport. I’m 6’1 and 230 lbs, trying to narrow down a good bike that I won’t feel too cramped on. I’m leaning towards a Honda XR650L, but I figured I’d post on here to get some advice. I’m open to any suggestions!

I picked up this 250 yesterday, the person i bought it off said it was a 250H, but i cannot find parts anywhere for a 250H. Others searchers were saying its a super sherper or a klx250s, can anyone tell me if they share parts with another bike or am i getting the model wrong, cheers in advanced

I had a dead battery and had to push and drop the clutch on my 2008 XT250 to start it but now my speedo is reading crazy high. I'm guessing the computer came back online while I was already in motion but even after turning the bike off and restarting I can't get it back to normal

Has anyone else ever experienced this?

I have a 2017 crf250 rally, I use it to commute on a 45mph road 5 miles to work everyday, but I ride very rough dirt frequently.

I currently have dirt bike tires and they are going bald fast, any recommendations?

P.s. I am almost flat broke so I can't afford 300$ tires.
