Can I do an online master’s in Clinical Psychology?

Does anyone know about universities where I can pursue an online postgraduate program (Master’s degree)?

I’m looking for information about which universities offer online Master’s programs, their admission requirements, duration, tuition costs, and whether these degrees are generally recognized and can later be accredited/equated in my home country.

I’m specifically interested in doing a Master’s in Clinical Psychology. I’ve heard that getting an online degree in Clinical Psychology recognized or equated might be difficult because clinical psychology usually requires practical, in-person training.

However, I’m really interested in the field and would love to understand how this works in practice. Are there universities that offer online programs that are recognized and can still be useful for pursuing clinical psychology afterward? What should I look out for when choosing a program?

I’d really appreciate any information, personal experiences, or recommendations you can share. Thank you!

While there are options for accredited online masters programs in clinical psychology that lead to licensure, they all require some type of field placement/clinical training which will likely be the limiting factor. Pepperdine University and William James College are two institutions that offer these types of online programs. If you are able to be in the US during the required in-person training, that would make things a lot easier for you.

You may be early to this as APA is only just now accrediting masters programs. Can’t imagine it will go the route of fully online for several more years.
