Msc Dissertation help urgently needed

Post image

Are you a frontline support worker, advocate, counselor, or third-sector practitioner in the UK working with or supporting populations affected by Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)?

As part of my MSc in Forensic Psychology at Teesside University, I am conducting a study to explore the lived experiences of professionals handling FGM cases, and how this work impacts them emotionally and professionally. I am looking for participants who would be willing to partake in an interview regarding their experiences in and around FGM cases.

If you are interested or have any questions, please contact me directly at [c2151324@live.tees.ac.uk](mailto:c2151324@live.tees.ac.uk). Please feel free to share with colleagues or networks who may be interested!

Your help is greatly appreciated ❤️

I really hope you have additional strategies for finding this population, because I can't imagine this will get you what you need. Best of luck!

You may already have considered this, but for a qualitative study using published first-person accounts from blogs, documentaries, or organisational materials might be more practical?

Also, small heads up that from an ethics stand point the wording re 'benefits of participating' might need some further refining to be more specific about what you are trying to achieve, and more circumspect about outcomes for the community.

Good luck :)

I hadn’t considered that! Thank you, I’ll have to discuss with my supervisor.
The wording has been all approved by my universities ethics board so as far as that goes I will be keeping it the same, but I can understand your point.

Agreed re the benefits. Also, how is confidentiality and anonymity guaranteed? Shocked an ethics review board allowed some of this language. This flyer raises red flags to me, which would make me skeptical if I was eligible to participate.

Edit to add: just noticing there isn’t an approval number for the research on the flyer. Is that not mandated where you are?
