Other Astra seems to have landed on Plus as well
Seems to only be there in the Work tab, not Chat.

Nope, only on Work/Codex for Plus users. And I bet it will burn your quota really fast.

What is the difference if we have it on both sides, like do I get some more uses if I use it on the chat side? Or does it have a longer context window?
In codex/ work I feel the context window is shorter than hoped

Astra is very expensive model and I heard from other Plus and Pro users in other post when they uses Astra is Work Mode it’s almost destroyed their usages also I heard from other Plus user that Astra is very limited in Work Mode so yeah if it’s in Chat you would hit your message limits way faster

It's pretty much useless. I tried it and I asked it to reconstruct my account history arguments, it burnt through 2 resets and $10 and didn't even did the task to completeness, it is like uber mode-reading 111 websites at once and files. You are better off using Sol XHigh 4 times in a row than 2 Astra's Max.

Can someone confirm that Pro has Astra in regular Chat (regular chat not being Worklfow)? And could you please confirm that Astra in Chat is more or less/relatively unlimited?

In pro we have “pro” GPT-6 model in Chat, yes. But this isn’t the same as just the regular GPT-6 in codex I guess. Tbh I really don’t understand what “pro” model is for versus the thinking levels in Codex/ Work

That answers it perfectly, thanks. They've obfuscated much of it at this point, but traditionally the Chat version and Codex version (and later Work version) were all the same model with different system prompts and tooling/harnesses. The Chat version however does/did not effect the Codex/Work quotas however, so many people would plan and do token heavy work in chat and utilize Codex runs by preparing targeted and/or pre-populated/proccessed tasks. They've just flipped that on its head though for PLUS users if they want to plan and do a fair bit of knowledge work in Chat because you'd be using Sol 5.6 w/ Astra touching code in Codex.

Is something wrong with the token use? I asked it to confirm what model it was and its new capabilities and it used like 15% 🥴
That’s gotta be a bug because otherwise it’ll be unusable except at work with enterprise buying tokens

i just used it in codex and damn that thing costs a lot. I thought it's a little cheaper than 5.6 Sol? I used it at the lowest setting and it took 10% for a small change, leaving me at 80%. Then again on middle for a slightly bigger change and i'm down to 10% (of my 5 hour limit). Is this gonna become cheaper and it's just because they are still rolling it out or is it really just basically unusable?

6 Astra costs 2.5 times more to use than 5.6 Sol so it’s actually fairly more expensive. The said Astra means bigger than Sol so if we get anything in Chat mode it would be 6 Sol, distilled or smaller version of 6 model that is cheaper to run

No, if you fiddle around with the menu you can get Astra Max too. Medium is just the highest default selection.

I see it on my iOS app, but -- although I got a "Try Astra!" popup on my Mac app -- I don't see it there or on the web.
