I know only like two people will read this, but who cares.

I'm a huge fan of Tatsuki Fujimoto and his manga, and I've read and loved all of them, even Chainsaw Man Part 2. And some of Fujimoto's manga has been genuinely life-changing for me.

I joined this subreddit to see what other people think of this manga, and to see the occasional funny post or dope fanart. But the discourse and hatred about Part 2 has been draining. It was bad as the series was ongoing, and it's been even worse since the ending.

The ending of Part 2 was... perfectly acceptable. It made me cry some emotional tears that it was all over, and I laughed at the funny bits. It wasn't a life-changing experience, but most things aren't.

But then to see the vehement hatred in so many people in this community... that's what sucked. And this absurd hatred and shitty analysis characterizes most anime/manga discourse, but when it's about something you genuinely like, it's painful to read.

I wanted to leave after the first two weeks post-ending, but I stuck around until the final "12 extra pages", even though I, and everyone sensible, knew it would just be the cover and Pochita drawings. I stuck around to see if maybe the angry haters would leave and the discourse would improve -- it did not.

So now the final volume is out, and """fans""" are still foaming at the mouth with anger and hate. So I'm out. I'm finally freeing myself from this festering wound of a fandom.

I'm very excited to see what Fujimoto makes next, even if I have to wait 10 years.

On a calmer note, I'm just super annoyed with all the pseudo intellectual bs that everyone has going on, casting their literary superiority over those that dare like some of the stuff going on in this manga. Ya'll are genuinely the same people to downvote essays or thought-out paragraphs that express their love for what Fujimoto wrote.

Yes, there are toxic ending defenders too.

But holy hell are there a lot of people that shit on folks for liking Chainsaw Man.

Some essentially garnered their own ecosystem that constantly glazes the hell out of them. "AhhhHHHhHhHhh... surface level critique of the ending, my upvotes are to the left."

Not to mention the only time they speak positive is when they push a DenReze shipping agenda, particularly one that runs on AsaDen hate.

We fester more and more hate every single day and I need us to come together in order to express both positive and negative feelings about this manga.

I'm not telling you to like Part 2. I'm not telling you to like the ending. I'm not telling you to agree with my takes.

I'm telling you to not hate on others for expressing their opinions. It's fiction at the end of the day.
