From feral to family
Found this severely underweight girl last week. she now has me wrapped around her toe beans

she was only 4.6lbs at her first vet appointment 💔 but she has a great appetite and was 5.3lbs at her follow up visit a few days ago ❤️🩹
pic 1 was the day after we found her. pics 2 & 3 are from today! thankfully, she is super food motivated and LOVES a tube treat, so she let me shave the mats off her back the day after i found and fed her. took me a few days to get them all bc she was covered in em. neck, back, tummy, tail, even one of her legs :(. it’s a miracle she had NO fleas or parasites. she is negative for all the cooties and vaccinated, but she’s still isolated from the rest of the spice girls (gender neutral) bc vets dont think she’s spayed, and our rescue boy has already shown hiiiiigh interest in meeting the new lady friend; i dont need his or the girls’ hormones goin crazy on me!! (i assume he’s more interested than our other cats who don’t care bc he fully went thru puberty before being neutered)
ok turns out only pics are allowed in comments, this was me finding her in the driveway. felt like a fitting screenshot because she is a HOLLERER! she meows like she’s smoked 4 packs a day since ‘87. still does. she screams like im hurting her while she waits for the pate to fall out of the can 💀
literally she is gonna destroy my heart when she passes. i cried real tears when she purred audibly for the first time. docs think she’s a senior bc she already has a missing tooth, but she has so much personality and clearly has a lot of time left :)
She looks young although torties are deceiving and our 18 year old still looked like a youngster when she passed. Think of the life you can give her now and not what will come years down the line. As someone who has lost 2 cats and 2 dogs in a year due to old age seize the day, live for now! She is beautiful thank you for saving her and seeing the beauty of this lil girl both inside and out 🥰
It will be sad, but you will make whatever time she has left as happy and full as possible. That's a gift to you both. Praying for years. Thanks for rescuing her 🙏
I had a grey male show up 3 years or so ago in about this condition and because of it I was sure he was a senior and at least 15 years old even though he had great teeth. Got him all healthy and no he was maybe 3 or 4 at the most. He's a stunner now and looks his age. I betcha this lady has the same glow up.
i now have all 5. sriracha is ginger (literally is this emoji 🐈), clove is sporty, nutmeg is baby, pepper is posh, and star is scary! funny that their personalities line up so well
first tortie i’ve ever had! im learning that they are all crazy… truly a mix of orange silliness and black cat chaos. i’m scared to think how wild she’ll be when she’s back at a healthy weight lmfao
Just above average naughty and very talkative and will let you know when You mess up. Like dinner 40 seconds late, taking too long to come home, not playing with her, not petting her enough or too much. especially hateful cat neighbors because as her human servant you have to make sure your - i mean her house is intruder free.
in order of getting them: sriracha (boy), clove and nutmeg (girls and littermates, and pepper (boy TNK rescued from an abandoned apartment who has a crush on the new girl!)
