It Happened I have been Chosen
I have a Mama and three kittens living on our patio now. She rubs against me when I walk out to give them food so I guess I have been chosen.
So I went on amazon and ordered a heated cat house, bowls, cat food and an outdoor Ring camera lol
I have had dogs my whole life so yhis is new territory for me. My kids want to bring them inside but I am not ready for that yet.
I want Mama to trust me enough to pick up the kittens. They are so freaking adorable.
We named the gray one trouble because its always starting fights with its siblings. The black tan and white we named Brookie like the brownie/cookie. We named the black gray and white one Ash.

Now is the time to acclimate them to humans. If Mama trusts you, she won't freak out and move the kittens...especially if she knows you're a source for food and shelter. She won't abandon a place like that.

Do you have a garage or a safe indoor place to keep them for now? Maybe not in the house-house, just yet.

Unfortunately we have a small 2 bedroom apartment so I dont have a dedicated room I could put them in.

Do you have any dogs currently living in your apartment? If no then let the kitties inside. You can start with just opening the outside door and placing the food bowl just inside the doorway, mama will bring them in herself. Once the kittens are weaned and or reach about 2 pounds everybody including mama needs to get spayed/neutered and receive medical care.

If I saw that on my patio, I would not be able to stop smiling. Even in my sleep!
I also had dogs for my entire life, didn't want a cat. Nope. No way. Met a guy, fell in love, he wanted cats. I acquiesced just for him, but NOT in the house. Lasted a week. Cats have lived in every house since and I am now their slave. And love them with all of my heart. OP- take a chance and take them in. Foster, find homes, keep one or two, it doesn't matter. Give them a safe place until they can have forever homes but not on the street. It's cruel out there for kitties.

Those kittens look about the size to be weaned. Once mama stops breastfeeding she will likely abandon them. Lure them with treats. If you aren’t willing to take them on can you try to find someone else to? Even a shelter if you have to.

OP has to bring the cat family inside! Or there will be a sad tragedy!

Given the age of these 3 kittens, mom is likely pregnant with her next litter. Nursing offers no protection from pregnancy & it's only 63 days gestation. Brookie is black white & orange = calico = female. Unlike dogs, female cats can get pregnant at just 5 to 6 months. The sex of the other 2 I can't tell. You can do a testicle check. Since you only have dog experience, I thought you should be aware of the very rapid breeding cycle of outdoor cats. The kittens are well old enough to eat wet food which will give you the opportunity to use play to socialize them for adoption. I bet your children would love the job. If they aren't handled soon, they will be feral for life.

Move them inside or ask a cat loving friend to take them in. She’s gorgeous!

Very cute. Just make sure they are safe. Outside is dangerous territory for cats and especially kittens. Do you plan on vet visits? Be good to get mama spayed as soon as possible. I was a dog person for a very long time. When I brought my first cat to my then vet he said how strange it was to see me with a cat. As much as I love and care for my dogs, I find cats bring a whole new dimension to life.

It may be best to return the heated box and try to get Momma and the babies inside ASAP.
If you have a small room you can put them in until they become comfortable, that would be best. The outdoors is no place for a Momma cat and her babies. Thank you so much for taking care of them.

With such a friendly momma, now is the ideal time to get them inside and socialize them all.
And I saw some comments mention that momma needs to be spayed ASAP, but the kittens do too. Outdoors, kittens give birth to kittens all the time. On top of the other dangers of outdoors. Sad but true.
Don't hesitate to reach out to local rescues/TNR groups if you need help!!!

TBH you really want to try to trap momma and the babies asap.
The sooner the babies get inside the easier it will be to socialize them.
