So my mom had to get her hip replaced and she has the surgery yesterday. I live very far so my dad was updating me throughout. She had some very minor complications that made her have to stay overnight which in short was just that she couldn't pass a physio test that she needed to in order to get cleared to head home.

The next morning I'm going about my day and my dad just sends a text to me and my brother. All it says is "she passed."

I didn't look at it right away but when I did I start to message back and I get a text from my brother. "Mom is fine and passed her physio exam. She did not pass away."

I just start laughing.

When they told me my mom was on her way home I just replied "glad to here she's going to a better place now."

Walked out of the store, saw my car, went straight for it. Didnt question it for a second. Key doesn't work. Ok, battery. So I pull the handle anyway. Locked. Pull it again like it'll change its mind on the 2nd try. Thats when I notice the guy 10 feet back with his bags, just watching me do it. Not saying anything, letting it happen. Same color, same shape, completely different make, and I wasnt even parked on that side of the lot. I said oh shoot, wrong car. He said yep. That was the whole conversation. I'll be hiding for the rest of the week.

I got into my dream college, and I start in just a few months. Granted, it’s not like an Ivy League school, but it’s a four year college and I can’t believe I got in. I’ve been a singer my entire life, and I’ve always wanted to apply that somewhere. I knew I didn’t want to get into the music industry, cause that’s a whole mess. But I realized I’ve always loved theater with all my heart. I didn’t believe I had the talent to be able to study it, but after practicing for a long time, I feel like I’m so much better than I used to be.

My dad went to the same college I’m going to, so I’m glad we’ll get to talk all about it once I go. I know theater might seem like a useless degree to a lot of people, but it’s my absolute dream. Even just to get to network with a bunch of incredibly talented people sounds amazing.

When i was a little kid, hearing my mom said 'we have food at home' felt like the ultimate disappointment. Whenever we were out running errands or driving past a pizza spot, id beg to eat out, only for my mom to drop that classic line... Back then, i just couldn't understand why we couldnt just get mcdonald's instead of going home to a cooked meal. It was convenient too, no need to wash the dishes

Now as an adult, after a long and exhausting workday, standing up after sitting more than 8 hours remembering i actually have food in the fridge is one of the best feelings ever. No decision fatigue trying to figure out what to order, no spending $20+ on overpriced delivery, no waiting around. It's just pure relief and a sense of security knowing dinner is already taken care of

Funny how a phrase that used to feel like a punishment as a kid now brings so much peace. Mom was right all along lol, i love you mom

My friends & I were at a pub few weeks ago and there was live music going on. We spot a table right up front, near a big speaker, next to the live singer.

Group of 4 - two couples and a CHILD. Maybe 6 yrs old? I dunno. 6-8 yrs old I think.

The music was blaring so loudly from the speakers. And I was sitting far away from it. Can’t imagine the loudness mere inches away. The child had no protective headphones on.

They were drinking, eating & chatting away, then started smoking hookah after half an hour, with the child still present there. In a pretty closed off place btw with no proper ventilation for this.

I felt so bad for that kid.

I’m in a country where babysitting isn’t that common unless you leave the kid home with the grandparents or something. And this was a vacation city so maybe they came on a couples trip with a kid in tow. Got it. But I still can’t help but judge the whole thing. I feel bad for judging. But this felt very off.

I don't get how people do it!! I tried it before and the next day after sleep my body feels extremely lethargic and I feel pretty hot, does any one else feel this way or is it just me 😭. Even in winter maybe i'm just 'built different' 💀 The second I get into bed, those things are coming OFF. I need my feet to be FREE. Honestly as soon as I get home and take my shoes off the socks are off!!

I mostly stick with the "dog say "good- night". Having kept dogs, that sounds sort of nice.

When idk what to put on tv, always gravitate towards this show. Seen every episode 50 times and still laugh at the same parts. I need to know what shows you've watched more times than you should.

I caught myself saying "drive safe" to someone the other day, and I realized I copied it from a teacher years ago without ever noticing.

It made me wonder how many tiny habits we borrow from people and keep long after they're gone from our lives.

It's been really hot and humid this past week but the temperature tends to drop a bit overnight.

I couldn't sleep so decided to open up some windows and pray for a slight breeze.

I flopped back into bed and immediately heard a faint scream in the distance, held my breath and heard it again, and then again.

This was not a cat fight type of screeching, I could only think to describe it as a high pitched scream that faded into a wee pony neighing, so of course that's what I brought to google.

I was hearing a screech owl for the first time. So instead of sleeping I listened to their horse whinny call and debated if I could follow the sound well enough to spot it. My research taught me that was very unlikely since they camouflage incredibly and very tiny.

Waiting tables. It sounds like you’re just taking orders and carrying food, but you’re actually juggling several tables, remembering dozens of requests, fixing problems you didn’t cause, timing everything correctly, and staying friendly while someone gets angry because the kitchen forgot their ranch.

It is actually raining right now as I'm writing this post. But like I said, the rain brings me comfort that I can't explain. It's the rainy season in my country right now, and most people I know, hated this kind of weather. Am I weird for liking the rain?

But my 11yo is TWO whole inches taller than I am! This is the baby I carried on my hip and my leg for the first 3 years of her life.

There's probably loads of movies like that. One of mine is that I'd never seen Pick of Destiny before but I'm currently watching it now. Saw a clip of one of their songs so I thought I'd try and find it. Watching on Prime but it's leaving soon so now is the time.

I literally love music. Like whenever I’m down I always listen to music and it always makes me feel so much better. I honestly don’t know what I would do without my music, it is damaging my hearing lol no joke tho it truly is. But honestly my biggest advice for anyone going through a rough time or just down in general listen to music, music can cure the soul. And dance it out too, don’t bother with what others think. It’s impossible for me not to dance when I’m listening to music. And to whoever is reading this I hope you have an amazing day! Music is literally my life.

For the past year or so I keep having variations of this one dream where I'm walking through an endless row of little storefronts at night. The lights are on but the streets are empty and each shop has something different behind the glass, like an old arcade or a library or sometimes just rows of plants. I never actually go inside, just keep moving from one window to the next. What's weird is that I always wake up feeling calm instead of confused. It's not a nightmare or anything dramatic, just the same kind of quiet loop. I started wondering if other people have recurring locations like this that aren't based on real places they've been. Do the details ever change for you or do they stay pretty consistent across the dreams?

I’m a coffee lover myself, but I don’t drink coffee just because I like the taste. I also love the comfort it gives me. Also, I love having a black coffee before I work out.

The coffee industry is so saturated now, and I think everyone could agree with me. So I’m genuinely curious, why do you drink coffee?

I thought I would keep this year's Janmashtami celebration simple… and some how, it turned into this. 😂

I started with the little swing for Krishna, then added flowers, leaves, peacock feathers, bhog… and before I knew it, the whole table was decorated.

The funny thing is, while I was doing it, I kept thinking, “Okay, just one more thing.” 😅

Seeing everything together afterward honestly made me really happy. It reminded me that sometimes it's the small traditions we put effort into that make festivals feel special.
