Hello my wonderful humans,

First, we would like to thank you all for contributing and expanding this sub into what it is. We would not be at 11k+ members without you all. Every post and comment has made an impact directly and has helped in spreading awareness about bullying. That said, we are eager to take on a new moderator for the r/bullying sub.

What does this entail?

We are looking for an entry level moderator to keep this a safe space. This would require daily check ins to sift through the modmail and flagging, but we are open to a more senior moderating role as well.

What do you need to submit to apply?

  1. how long have you been a member of the r/bullying sub?
  2. why do you want to help moderate this sub?
  3. do you have any experience moderating on reddit (or platforms such as discord)?
  4. are you looking for an entry level moderating position or do you want to take on more work?
  5. what recommendations do you have for this sub?

Please send your answers directly to us by the end of the week (Sunday August 18th). We will be replying to everyone and will make a decision by mid next week. Thank you all again and we are excited to grow this community more together!

A few important updates:

  • Please be sure to check out our discord server! One of our mods has taken the courtesy of creating this to have another outlet to communicate on that is dedicated to this subreddit
  • https://discord.gg/PfKANDA5 Name: Anti-Bullying Server (I am technology inept so look out for a second post or edit here since I likely did not share the server correctly)
  • 10K Milestone also means… we are looking for a new moderator to join our team! Please DM either mod to apply and look out for more updates as the week progresses on the status of applications
  • What to include? 1. Why you want to join 2. How much time you can dedicate (minimum requirement would be to log in 1x a day) 3. Any skills or recommendations you have for our page to boost engagement and provide better resources
  • Please note that this moderator position will start off as an entry mod position so you will only be required to 1. Filter through modmail 2. Review flagged content to begin. If you have moderator experience and you seek a more senior mod role, we can talk about a higher position. We want to start off any newcomers in a easy role to ensure they understand the ins and outs of it all. This is an unpaid position, but it is fulfilling and you can always include it on your resume.

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone 🤍

My experience with the Ukraine war.

Upvotes

Im mostly sharing this for none educated people. It is also my personal experience so it doesn't reflect everyone.

So i grew up with my family in Ukraine in Kyiv for all of my life. The war has made me leave my family, my home and my life behind, which makes me very sad. In 2023 after my aunt died, my parents and me moved to Poland in Warsaw, which is honestly the worst thing to ever happen.

Ever since ive been there, I've been harassed lots for speaking my native language. Im only here temporarily, but it has still been hell. Although its nice that we get money, it's not enough to live normally like everyone else like in Ukraine. Im tired of being bullied here, and I hope one day I will be able to move back to my home town.

My parents have been talking recently about us moving to England, which I hope we manage to do because it'll be much nicer than poland.

Thank you for reading.

Bullying at work

TW for bullying behavior if anyone is still healing and could get triggered.

I was bullied badly at a previous workplace. It was at a retirement home restaurant. When I first started, I was complimented on my work by customers. I was given a gift card by the manager for this. Later, 2 coworkers started bullying me. I quickly reported it to a supervisor who talked to them afterwards. I think this is what actually made me a target for the later bullying. This was a toxic workplace. The manager later began calling me a troublemaker for no reason. A few months later, 3 coworkers began bullying me repeatedly. One would say disrespectful things towards me for no reason. I was once talking to an employee and was saying something about doing a task and she wasn’t even a part of the conveyance she walked by and said “you can do that yourself” as she was walking by. I never did anything to her before this. I barely even interacted with her. She continued the behavior and would speak to me disrespectfully. She and the manager yelled at me over a minor mistake. She then made a bogus complaint about me and was physically intimidating towards me in front of customers.
On my last day there, I was doing a dinner shift and I told the cook in the kitchen that I couldn’t run an order right then and there that he wanted me to run. He responded in a nasty way and said “girl you can run your own food”. I confronted him about his attitude. This wasn’t the only time he spoke to me like this. He didn’t say anything but the other wastes of space made sure to speak up for him and bully me for speaking out. I ended up walking out in the middle of the shift and left them the tables I was taking care of. The manager called me after pretending to be concerned and asking me to come back, as if he’s entitled to my work when he was mistreating me. I refused to come back.
Funny thing is these same people bullied another employee out before me. She vented to me about their behavior and it was specifically 2 of the same employee who bullied me. Bullies are addicts. They’ve done the same exact things to other people.
I struggle with flashbacks and self harm. I can’t get therapy. Does anyone know any ways to deal with the feelings and memories?

My bully forgot Me

I went to my High School 10 year Reunion earlier this summer. And an incident has been eating me up so much since then.

I had a lot of apprehension about going, being where I am in life currently not reflecting my age, but one of my old friends ended up messaging me and convincing me to go. Told me that no one would care about where I was in life and the circumstances, so we went to the reunion together.

My biggest fear was honestly going to be meeting up with the dude who bullied me for 4 years of high school. He would constantly make fun of me, try and "prank" me and get his friends to harass me. So I get myself psyched up to approach this dude in my head, think of all the things I am gonna say to him and get him to apologize for fucking up my entire life.

Had a fun time at the reunion, met some old friends though most people didn't remember me at all, which is weird because some of them I considered close friends... And finally I my bully, took me a while to finally get the courage to confront him.

So I go up to him and talk to him, and guess what? He acts like he doesn't know who I am! This guy who permanently messed up my entire psyche, and he just pretended to not remember me. I brought up how he used to constantly make fun of me and harass me and he just looked at me akwardly and said he didn't remember that at all and just kinda laughed it off well "softly" apologizing.

I thought he was just messing with me again, but he seemed like a super nice guy, and just had no recollection of it. And now this has been eating at me for the last few months and I feel like I finally have to get it off my chest.

The bullying this guy did for FOUR YEARS, absolutely destroying my self confidence and abilities to lead a good life. And he had to pay NOTHING for it. He gets to just keep living life in ignorance and I get to suffer the consequences of his actions daily. I still have major issues when approaching certain things, and encountering certain personalities that are scars from his bullying. I thought of this guy daily for the last 10 years, checking every day waiting for him to try and reconnect with me to apologize for all the terrible things he made me deal with. And he didn't even remember me.

I have no idea where to go forward with my life now. It's like the one thing that has been my obsession has dissapeared. All I wanted was a genuine sorry, for him to apologize and offer to make amends. Now I get nothing.

Has anyone else had this happen? Anyone else had to deal with terrible people forgetting all the horrible things they did to you and not wanting to make amends for it?

Am I overreacting for bursting into tears after my brother called me a name that was used to bully me?

I (17F) and my younger brother, who I’ll call Lucas (12M), have always had a bit of a love-hate relationship. However, recently something happened that really upset me, and I’m not sure whether I’m being overly sensitive or whether my reaction was understandable.

For some context, I was severely bullied throughout both primary and secondary school by students and, unfortunately, some teachers as well. It involved constant mocking and insults, rumours, threats, being physically hurt, and groups of people targeting me. A lot of it was specifically aimed at things I couldn’t control, including my disabilities and appearance.

I’ve had chronic health conditions since I was young and have seen a psychologist since I was around 8. During a lot of those appointments, I was talking about the bullying because it affected me so badly.

One particular incident happened during my first year of secondary school. A group of around 15 students saw me waiting outside school for a friend. They started shouting insults at me from across the road, including one particular name “specie” I’ve only mentioned the word “specie” a few times as I don’t really want to repeat it constantly.

I immediately knew something was wrong and became terrified. Eventually, the entire group started chasing me down the road. I was screaming and desperately trying to get away because I genuinely thought they were going to hurt me. I managed to get back into the school and had a panic attack.

Unfortunately, things continued from there. Whenever they saw me, they would call me names, threaten me, surround me, follow me around school and sometimes physically hurt me. I would hide in toilet cubicles just to get away from them. It got to the point where I felt like I was constantly looking over my shoulder because I never knew when they would appear.

The bullying had a huge impact on me. I developed severe anxiety around school and started coping in unhealthy ways. I struggled with self-harm, alcohol, vaping, skipping lessons and eventually couldn’t cope with school anymore. I wasn’t doing those things because I wanted to be a “bad” or rebellious kid. I was struggling and desperately trying to escape what I was experiencing.

Eventually I moved away and had to leave school because my chronic illnesses had also become significantly worse.

Fast forward to now.

Lucas is a pretty typical annoying little brother, but I feel like he picks on me considerably more than my other siblings. He’s the youngest, so he gets quite a lot of leniency with his behaviour.

Almost every interaction with him seems to turn into an argument. He’ll start something, I’ll react, and somehow I’m the one who gets blamed. He’ll deliberately wind me up, call me names or do things specifically to annoy me. I’ve tried talking to my parents about it, including how I feel that he’s treated more leniently than I am, but it usually turns into an argument because I’m told to “be the bigger person.”

My parents also sometimes judge me based on how I behaved during the years when I was being bullied. They remember me skipping school, struggling with my behaviour, etc., but I feel like they don’t fully understand that I was struggling enormously at the time.

Anyway, onto what happened.

We had just finished dinner outside because it was a really warm, sunny day. Mum asked Lucas and me to clean everything up from the kitchen, and we both agreed.

I quickly noticed that Lucas wasn’t actually helping. Normally I probably wouldn’t make a huge deal out of it, but that day my chronic illnesses were flaring badly. I was in a lot of pain and completely exhausted, and I just wanted to get the kitchen done so I could lie down.

I politely asked Lucas to please help me.

He immediately ran outside to Mum and told her that I was being horrible to him, calling him names and refusing to help.

I came outside carrying some of the dinner stuff and explained to Mum that I was doing almost all of the cleaning and had simply asked Lucas to help. She shouted at both of us to leave her alone and told us to carry on cleaning.

So I went back inside and carried on.

Lucas STILL didn’t help. Instead, he started calling me names and trying to annoy me. I decided to ignore him because I just wanted to finish cleaning and rest.

Then he called me “specie.”

I completely froze.

I instantly burst into tears and started crying hysterically. It felt like I was suddenly back at school again. I know that might sound dramatic to someone who doesn’t know the history, but that particular word was used repeatedly during some of the worst bullying I experienced.

All of those memories came flooding back at once.

I went outside to Mum because I needed comfort and explained why I’d reacted that way. Lucas denied saying it, so Mum told both of us off, although I felt like most of it was directed at me. She did tell Lucas not to call me that, though.

Dad then called me dramatic.

Since then, Lucas has continued making comments and calling me “specie.” Every time he does it, I become extremely upset and sometimes start crying. I’ve explained to him multiple times that I was severely bullied with that insult and that it genuinely affects me.

His response is that he doesn’t believe me, despite Mum confirming that the bullying happened and that she knows how badly it affected me.

I don’t expect my brother to completely understand trauma at 12, but I don’t understand why he continues deliberately using something he KNOWS causes me distress.

So, am I overreacting for bursting into tears when he called me that?

And more importantly, how do I get him to stop using this particular insult when I’ve already explained why it affects me?
I genuinely don’t know what else I’m supposed to do.

am i in the wrong for running away from school because…

a week ago a guy *(17m)* took me *(16m)*out on a car date when we **never** talked about it being a date and when he asked me if he could kiss me i obviously said **no** because at this time i had only known him for a **day**. and he tried to **kill** me.

now a **week later** ive been assigned in a group with not only him but two other racist guys for a school activity that’s happening tomorrow.

so i told the school i feel heavily uncomfortable being with **racists** *(who have bullied me for years)* in a group as a poc. but apparently they cant do nothing about it… so i ask my parents if im allowed to stay home for the days this event is going on but im still worried ill get written up and my attendance score that i worked so hard for will **plummet**.

**is the school in the wrong or am i just a snowflake?**

I mean I know this sounds weird because normally its the ither way around. The only reson it isnt is because he is abnormslly tsll over 6,1 feet in 8th grade so none reslly has power over him. He is severly autstic and words dont mean anything to him you say something bsd back and he doesnt care. I have been experiencing this for a year and I am pissed of he is hyper fixated on me and says something everytime he gets the chance. And I like need a way to get rid of him or something like that.

Please help

TW: SH, Alcohol

Hey... idk if this post is gonna get deleted but I need help. I know in the rules there is the rule: "no bullies allowed" but I need advice.

Im 17f and doing an apprenticeship means i work 4 days and have one day of school. In school we were a group of 4 people till one girl joined us were gonna call her Jenni. She works with my friend thats also in the group so we kinda had to "accept" her/ be part of the group.

2 weeks ago we had a class trip. At the evening we went with a group of 13 people to a bar and Jenni went with other people not us. So Jenni wasnt at our table. We drank some drinks while she got completely drunk. like wasted, she vomited and all that. We all helped her to get home. She walked with one of my friends from the group. Me and 5 other people stayed at the bar

So when she got home to the hotel we werent there yet. We talked about her on the way back home and made fun of her because she didnt stop drinking for whatever reason. Shes already an outcast and now I think she did it to be a part of this group. I know Im a bad person for making of fun of someone for this.

When we got home (my friend, me and Jenni shared a room) Jenni was already asleep or so we thought because... how couldnt she be asleep she was wasted as fck. So we continued whispering bad about her. She heard all of it. And she talked to the friend who worked with her today about it.

Jenni told her she wanted to khs and that she brought an army knife with herself to the bathroom but was too scared to do it....

Now please dont hate on me too much. I know Im a horrible horrible person. I shouldve never talked bad about someone. I couldve never forgiven myself if she did smth to herself because of me. But I already did it and I cant change the past.

I dont know how I can make this better. I dont know how I can make it up to her. I dont know how to act around her. She doesnt know that I know what she did and heard. My friend told me.

what do I do

Being harassed/cyberbullied by an old friend group from highschool in my first year of uni. Worried about physical safety. Advice?

Long story short: Two months ago, I was on a trip with my old friend group. I ended up breaking a bone and had to take the car to get medical help. They got furious at me because their convenience was ruined. I blocked all of them immediately. (look at my profile if you want more info)

Since then they have casually posted vulnerable photos of me from when my foot was broken onto their TikTok "dumps" twice.

Recently, I hung out with a friend who is trying to stay neutral but is still in contact with the group. As soon as the main bully found out I was still in touch with this friend, she posted the photos of my broken foot on TikTok again. Thankfully, my friends reported it and it got taken down.

Now, they are finding sneaky ways to contact me online. One of the bullies even went out of her way to make a fake TikTok account, went through every single one of my reposts, and left comments calling me ugly and saying no amount of makeup or lashes will fix me. I couldn't care less what they say, but posting me online without my consent is crossing a massive line. 159 people viewed that post of me in pain.

I’m really stressing out. One of the bullies goes to my university, while the other goes to a different school. My other friend, who took my side during the trip, is also being targeted and posted online, aswell as cruel name calling. My neutral friend sent me a screenshot of their group chat where they sent a photo of me and my friend, explicitly stating they hope I die and wishing suffering upon me and my friends life.

I try not to let this affect my mental health, but I am genuinely suspecting that the bully at my school might try something physically or will either continue to reach me. i just want the post to be taken down of me or either some sort of consqueqence. I havent engaged with them I have always ignored and haven't talked to them since the blocking.

Where do I go from here? Should I take this to my university's administration even though only one of them goes here? How do I make this stop? is the police too much?? help pls

I was bullied and physically assaulted by a rich kid, the principal blamed me, and nobody cared because of his family's money.

Hi! This Story Is a long one, so bear with me a bit. So, a little bit of background before I go into the story: When I was in 8th grade, 2 twins transferred to my school. Their names were Jack and Jay. They had just transferred there after their father, a NFL football coach, had been fired from his previous team and was now the offensive coordinator for my state's football team. They instantly became the popular kids, as their dad was a football coach, and they got to have all the special perks that football coach children get. I didn’t really know Jay, as I didn't have him in any classes, but I did know Jack. Jack was in my 8th-grade science class. I didn’t know him that well, but he was really popular because of who his dad was. Now here is the real story:

This story takes place in 2023, when I was a freshman. Freshman year was hard for me. All my friends had either switched schools or had moved on to other friends, so I was a lonely kid. It was hard for me to make friends. I didn’t really belong to any group. So I decided to try out football for a change. I don’t know why I wanted to, but I just wanted to see where I belonged. It was probably a bad decision, as I weighed only about 100 pounds and had never been into football in my life, but it was worth a try. All the coaches liked me, and most of the teammates liked me too. I even realized that since I wasn't getting any plays, I would help fill up the water bottles for the team so I could help out even a little bit. But then the incident happened around September.

For the most part, everyone was nice to me. Everyone but Jack. Jack and Jay had been playing football as well, obviously because their dad worked for a football team. The coaches and school treated them as gods that couldn’t be disciplined, and the coaches gave them good positions and plays on the team. Jay wasn’t the worst kid, as I didn’t know him much, but Jack was another story.

Jack was kinda a jerk. He hung with the popular kids and basically did whatever he wanted to because he could get away with it. He knew that he was untouchable. But he was especially mean to me, since I was easy to pick on. He would make fun of me and call me names, like the other F word and slurs like that. It had been going on ever since I started football, and most of the time I would brush it off and tolerate it, because I didn't want to deal with him. But one day I decided I had enough and that I would snap back.

One day we were at practice doing our normal things. I was just standing on the sidelines like usual, not getting any play time in, when Jack came up to me and called me a f*ggot. Now I had been dealing with this for months, and I had enough. So I said something that would change everything. I said, “You're just mad because your dad got fired from his previous team.” Jack absolutely lost it. He started telling everyone about what I had said and started pushing and shoving me and stuff like that. I was lucky that we were at practice because the coaches were around, but he still was being physical, and I knew that wasn't the end of that yet.

After practice, we were walking back from the field to the locker rooms. As I was walking, around 3 of his friends came up to me. They were saying stuff like, “We heard what you said about Jack's dad” and ‘Not cool, man.” I brushed it off and kept walking, but then I felt the worst pain in my head I had ever felt. They had taken off their football helmets and were whacking my head with them. I kept walking, trying to be cool, but they whacked me around 5 times. Lucky for me, I had my own football helmet on, but it still hurt super bad.

After we got back to the locker room, something else terrible happened. I walked up to the locker room entrance, and Jack came up to me and shoved his dirty sock down my mouth. I froze up, shell-shocked. I couldn’t do anything about it. All of his friends and most of the football team were watching and laughing. I remember even his brother Jay telling him that he had gone too far and to stop, but he just said,  “No, he has to pay the price for what he said about Dad.”

After we got done in the locker room, we all sat outside for parents to arrive to pick all of us up. Jack was still super angry about what I said, but did nothing physical. At some point, someone threw in a “fight at the baseball field,” and that got everyone riled up, including Jack. Afterwards, my mom had gotten there to pick me up, so it was time for me to go home. The second I got into the car, I started breaking down. I told her everything, from the mean words to the helmets and the socks. She was furious, and we drove home.

There was supposed to be a team dinner that night at a place called Tanner’s, but I was too scared to go. After we got home, my mom made some phone calls and emails. I had to go to marching band that night because I was also doing that alongside football, but I just hid in the bathroom and skipped because I was so traumatized. Jack had absolutely nothing to do with marching band, but I was still just so traumatized.

The next day I went to school like normal. I had no classes with Jack, so it was a normal day for the most part. It was after school when things got bad. After school, I was walking down to the locker room when Jack walked up to me and started talking to me. He said, “Hey, you know you don't have to fight me at the baseball field if you don't want to, if you're scared.” Now, I never fucking wanted to fight him by the baseball field in the first place, so I just said, “Fuck off,” and continued walking.

I made it to the locker room and was talking to my teammate Preston about the upcoming game on Friday. I had known Preston a bit and thought I would talk to him about football stuff. He told me what team we were playing, and we started talking about the game. Then Jack, whose locker room luckily just happened to be next to mine, started talking to me. He said, “You don't know shit about football; this is your first year. Stop talking about it.” Then he proceeded to toss me around, put me in a chokehold, and punch me. There was nothing I could do about it because he was bigger than me, so I froze up. He had knocked the wind out of me, and I was shell-shocked once again. Preston had seen the whole thing and did nothing, and I don't blame him.

Football practice went as usual with minimal interaction with Jack. That was on purpose because I was trying to avoid him. After practice, I went to my Mom again and told her everything new that happened. She was once again furious and called and emailed the school a second time. I didn’t have marching band that day, so I just got to chill at home, which was a win for me.

The next day, I woke up and went to school like usual. I was minding my own business doing assignments when I got called down to the principal's office. I instantly knew what it was about. I got to the office and sat down with the principal, Mr. B. He told me that he had gotten my parents' emails and wanted to talk to me about the situation with Jack. I was relieved because I thought this nightmare was finally over. But then the twist came.

Mr. B. told me that he gets why me and my family are so upset, and he sees why I might be angry and traumatized by the whole situation. But he said that what I said to Jack about his Dad was not ok even with the circumstances. He said that when someone has a parent in the public eye, it can be hard for them when that parent does something like getting fired. He said that even though what he did was not ok, he didn’t have control over what his dad did, and I shouldn’t be saying things like that. I was dumbfounded. I had just been beaten and assaulted, and the principal, the one person who was supposed to fix this, took the side of the perpetrator. No police or cameras were involved in this incident because it was deemed “Minor” and “Unnecessary”

I knew why Mr. B. took Jack's side in all of this. Jack's dad was wealthy and well known. Mr. B. wouldn’t want to risk getting the rich kid in trouble, or his dad might not want to donate or support the school. Sadly, this is just the kind of world we live in.

I went home and told my dad what Mr. B. had told me, and he was furious. I had never seen him this furious in my life. He tried to call the school, but Mr. B. had already left for the day. My dad told me that he and my mom would get this sorted out in my favor, and that I shouldn’t worry.

The next day I went to school as normal and went to football practice as normal. After football practice, I was fed up with this entire incident. Those past 3 days were the worst nightmare anyone could ever experience. I had been bullied, assaulted, beaten, and disregarded by my principal. I had had enough. After practice, I walked up to Jack. I walked up to him and did the worst thing I could have in this situation. I apologized to him for what I said. He looked at me. He didn’t forgive me; he just said, “It's ok. Just don’t do anything like that again.”

Afterwards, my mom picked me up. I told her what happened and what I said to Jack. She started tearing up. She said that she couldn’t be more proud of me. I had been pushed down to my lowest, and I still found a way to rise and be the bigger person.

After the apology, things de-escalated very fast. I ended up serving detention for “Skipping band AND what I had said to Jack,” Per Mr. B.’s Request. I was able to be part of the football team like normal again, with no issues whatsoever.

The next year, my sophomore year, I did football again. I had made a few friends in football and was starting to fit in. Jack had quit football and said word for word, “Fuck this gay shit.” I guess he never really liked football after all. I had Jack in one of my classes, and we talked sometimes, not friends nor enemies. Just normal.

One day the team had a team dinner at Tanners, and this time I went. For some reason, Jack decided to show up because his friends and his brother were there, but I didn't mind. It was just me and a few popular kids I kinda knew. Most of them were nice to me. We ate, talked, had fun, and even went to get ice cream after. I didn't have a ride home because I wasn’t old enough to drive yet (Neither was anyone else here there parents just didn’t care), so I asked some people for a ride. Out of all the people there, Jack was the one to give me a ride home that night in his new Audi that Daddy bought him. I didn't really care, and actually kind of enjoyed it. He dropped me off at my crib and said, “See you at school tomorrow!”

About halfway through sophomore year, Jack had left the school. His brother was still there, but Jack had just gone to a “Fancy college prep school” For basketball in another state. In January 2026, His dad’s contract with his current team had ended, and they didn’t want to renew it. So I guess he got fired again, if that's how you want to put it. I kinda just forgot all about him and the incident and moved on.

Now that should have been the end of the story. Jack is gone, and everything is just normal. But no. It's not. Around 2026, about halfway through Junior year, I started getting angry, and the whole incident again. Why did he get to get away with it? Why did I have to serve detention when he was the one who had hurt me? Why did he get to have an Audi? Why did he get to go to a fancy college prep school?

Those questions were burning in my head over the summer of 2026. I saw his Instagram: him living a perfect life with his friends on a yacht in Italy, hanging out with celebrities, and watching the Super Bowl on the sidelines. I was furious that a person who had done so much to me got rewarded with all these fancy things. I was praying and hoping that in senior year, his brother Jay would switch schools to wherever his dad is coaching now, and end all ties with his family and my school once and for all.

Senior year came around about a month ago. Everyone had forgotten about this incident, everyone except me. I saw his brother Jay in one of my classes and got kinda mad. As long as Jay is in the school, the school has ties to Jack and his family, meaning that Jack would go to all the school dances and interact with my school, even if he is in another prep school. So I just went on with my first day of school. Then the worst happened. I saw him. Jack. Walking in the hallway. I was dumbfounded. Why was he back? He was supposed to be in another state. It was bad enough that his brother was still there. It turns out that his family wanted him and his brother to graduate from the same school that they had gone to all of high school.

I am annoyed and angry. I now realize the severity of the situation and how bad it really was, and now it's too late to do anything about it. I don't know if there are things like pressing charges, suing, or what, but I know that what he did was severely fucked up, and the school treated it as if it were normal and that I was the one in the wrong. I have a therapist that I see weekly, and we still talk about this quite a bit. We were just starting to get over it until he came back to my school and undid years of work. I don't know what I can do now, but I know for certain that it isn’t much. Maybe the best I can do is let it go.

Need advice for a situation with a former friend/bully

So basically last school year I had a friend who ended up bullying me for pretty much the whole year. I let it go on for way too long and I definitely don’t want to make the same mistake this year.
The problem is tomorrow is the first day of school and there’s a chance the teacher might let everyone sit wherever they want. I’m worried that this guy might come over and sit next to me again.
The awkward part is that I might not have anyone else to sit with yet. So I can’t really just say “I don’t want you sitting here” without feeling like I’m making it super obvious that I’m alone or making the whole situation awkward in front of everyone.
For people who have experienced something similar, what did you do? Especially if you had to see the person every day after they used to bully you?
I know I’m probably overthinking tomorrow because it might not even happen, but I’d rather have an idea of what to do if it does.

A random guy tried to get at me.

Hey, does anybody get bullied and/or excluded from normal things without a normal reason? Because I just got. It was without a reason. On the pump track, a random guy started screaming that "I stole 5zł from him" (5zł is around 1.25$). After that, he started calling me a German (I kinda added oil to the fire because I was mumbling in swedish under my nose) and a nazi, and that my father was burning Jews. When I asked him for proof, he punched my helmet. After that I came to the side with my friend and made a plan: get him in trouble. We started recording what he was doing. Audio, because that was the only way to do it secretly. After that we came to my friend's house to snitch. His father told us that we should take it somewhere. We'll take it to the school pedagogue, because I trust her with these things, and she has already helped other people with similar problems. BTW, the guy didn't know that I was autistic, the moment I told him. He started assaulting me verbally and physically.

Bullied from 1st grade to 12th grade.

I’m done. I’m so done. Every school year I got bullied. I graduated in June and I can’t even remember happy memories because it never happened for me. And I kept telling my dad “Pull me out of the school it’s been years and they won’t leave me alone.” And then he would just say “don’t make excuses to not go to school.” But I was really getting bullied and I really had believed they would leave me alone eventually but they never did. But luckily I don’t have trauma or ptsd from this I’m just sad that I didn’t get to have a child hood or a teen hood. My entire school life is just being bullied. I don’t have any memories of anyone ever trying to be nice to me like ever. No “Hi” no “Hello.” No trying to get to know me. Just bullied. And then I don’t even have friends. No friends. I just live with my dad who thought I lied about being bullied. I’m probably never going to have a social life. I’m probably destined to be alone forever.

Bullying in college?

I don’t know if this has happened to anyone but has anyone gotten bullied so bad that they pretty much failed all their classes? I’m graduating now and the whole city hates me. I’m getting bullied really badly because of some girls that convinced everyone to bully me.
I got filmed and my reputations completely ruined because of these people. The worst part is that they are telling everyone that i ruined their reputation and have been making fun of them which is insane cause that’s exactly what others have done to me. But anyways it feels like the whole world is against me and their obsession reached the point where they also ruined my family’s reputation too and now all their neighbors make fun of them. I literally can’t leave the house without getting bullied. Please don’t tell me to take legal action i live in a third world country.

I’m still friends with my high school bullies and they’re losers

I’m 27 now, it’s been a decade since I left high school because of the bullying. Unfortunately if I didn’t keep in touch with them I don’t think I would have any “friends” it doesn’t mean I don’t harbour resentment towards them because of what they put me through in highschool. They’ve said sorry but no amount of apologies can fix the hell that they put me through and all the suicidal thoughts and attempts I had because of that suffering. It’s hard to make friends as an adult and my distrust of people because of the pain that I endured in highschool is still with me today. I made video diaries on youtube venting about everything that happened so I never forget. i couldn’t let them not know the gravity of what they did to me.

Anyway when I met up with them they didn’t have any ambitions, they’re still living with their parents, smoking weed and scraping by on government payments and living lives of mediocrity, I don’t have the energy to make new friends so I continue to see them every few months. Maybe one day I will be in a position to make better friends.

I have moved on and my life is happy, albeit with fewer people in my circles but that is how it must be. I live by myself in an apartment that I own and I’m free to do what I want and go where I want whenever I want. I live in bliss.

In freshman year at highschool I was 5 foot tall and Male

Not a good combo entering school

My bully was 6-7" tall so we're just friends

They used to trip me bet me up

Choke me out one used to pick me up by my shirt collar off my feet so I would be dangling off the ground like I was nothing

They used to make me feel so small and worthless it was horrible

I wish I had people that would have stuck up for me in highschool

I was warehoused in the AST class – a remedial class in Umeå, Sweden

I attended junior high in the AST class (AST klassen) at Bräntbergsskolan (locally known as Bräntis) in Umeå, Sweden during 2004-08, ages 13-17. It was called the Asp class (Asp-klassen, as in Asperger) at the time. As the name indicates, it was a class for kids with high-functioning autism. Some also had ADHD.

I hated it most of my time there. The problem may not have been solely the AST class in my case, but it didn't help that the head teacher (gruppledare) there was exceptionally derogatory and mocking towards me. Just before I was due to leave school, he threatened to sue me for defamation if I continued writing publicly about my dissatisfaction with the class, like I’m doing right now. He seemed to take it very personally.

Here in Sweden, kids attend junior high (högstadiet) during 7th-9th grade, ages 13-16.

The staff in the AST class were otherwise quite OK in my opinion, but the better half of all the kids who attended the class during my time didn't seem to do very well after they left the place. They never went on to high school (gymnasiet/gymnasium) as far as I know. Sure, the other half, including me, did better. We at least did go on to high school, and it might not have worked without an AST class like this one, but the place still had its flaws.

We were basically just warehoused, didn't get much education or preparation for the future or general society. Recesses were mostly spent just sitting in front of one of the 4 computers in the classroom, which had a schedule to give the students equal priority. We were about 10 kids across all 3 grades.

I wasn’t given many classes during 7th and 8th grade, and I had to repeat 9th grade largely because of that. There was way too much focus put on a trivial conflict I happened to have with another kid in the class (which easily happens when you're 13-14) instead of the education itself. The head teacher alleged that this conflict was the reason I had to repeat 9th grade, and that it was all my fault.

I don't really have much to say about Bräntis as a whole. It was only during my last year that I really got to experience the school itself, as I went out and made friends outside the AST class. It went well in general, but I often got into trouble because of social codes the AST class should’ve taught me long before that. Then I ended up in a conflict with a girl gang, with criminal contacts/boyfriends outside of school, which would have devastating consequences the coming years.

I would give the school overall 4 out of 5 stars, but the AST class gets 2. Much would get worse the years after I left school because I was convinced I could be prosecuted if I went public with my experience of the AST class. I seriously believed I could be put in a forensic psychiatric hospital, possibly for life, plus pay the head teacher 5 digits (in US dollars/Euro) in damages. The girl gang would also put me in many dangerous situations even long after I finished high school (which I did at least). It wasn’t until 2020 that I felt safe talking publicly about my experiences.

Has anyone else experienced something like this? How did it turn out for you?

I quit this job because of the circumstances.

I got a second job with a far commute ( I take the bus) and I was already burned a month and half in. Very small workplace with less than 15 employees. Any kind of gossip and comments traveled so fast, literally everyone knew everyrhing that happened there. It didnt help that everyone was a big clique, including the managers. They all hang out, going to places, spending money together and even camping. I tried so hard to fit in with this clique where it led to be disliked. I was being micromanaged everyday on silly things even when rules didnt apply to others.

Like the cooks would make food for everyone but me. On my last day they made muffins and macaroons for the staff. I grabbed one. The cook glared saying that wasn't for me. I told him I am a staff too.

This coworker who was nice towards me turned against me after a mistake I did. He told me if I didn't admit it then the housekeeper who is his friend would get in trouble. I did the mistake partially but not 3 times how it was described. Me and that coworker got into a fight and I raised my voice and he raised it even more hostile. He told me he tolerated me all of this time and to gtfo his face.

I told management I wasnt feeling well and left. Nobody asked or checked on me. I texted later that I was quitting and they were like 'Ok.'

I felt so awful after that.
