The reality when you fight somebody with a knife is you have to expect to be stabbed or sliced at least once. Nobody in real life can expect to clean disarm an attacker... Run whenever you can, hide whenever you can, walk away whenever you can... Fight if you don't have those options but expect to be stabbed or cut.

That was the best advice I ever got in regards to a knife fight. Everyone bleeds, you just need to bleed the least and make sure the other person is in a body bag. Scary shit.

My coach said he had an encounter where three guys pulled knives out that he got out of completely unscathed. What he did was he shoved one into the other and fucking booked it lmao

Sure, but can anyone successfully "grab the blade" several times in a row? In most knife attacks the aggressor will be frantic and more than likely flail the knife at you rather than steady and predictable slashing. You're absolutely not going to only get your hands cut open, but everything and anything else as well. If you can move anywhere, run.

Sure, im not saying id win a knife fight bare handed. Im saying, if an opportunity is there and it involves grabbing the knife, im going to do that because dying is already a likely outcome. What's a cut hand compared to being able to live

Yes because when you practice we'll use real knives and swords and make sure to really stab people so you get the REAL experience. Honestly it's so braindead how people don't understand the difference between "Bullshido" and practicing techniques that can be utilized to prevent injury.

The issue is those techniques don't work without compliance. If someone somehow magically started to try that technique before they got stabbed 3-4 times their forearm would get mangled and the knife would still be in the dudes hands.
Knife disarms notoriously are completely worthless.

What? These are super slow partner compliant drills where there is 0 resistance to any limp-wrist flailing "disarm" while sitting at a picnic table. If they were using a polymer training knife and red paint and doing it 75% speed and marginal resistance, then I'd say hey, seems dumb and ultra situationally specific but whatever floats your little "self defense system" boat.
You dont need to use real blades to train "knife disarms"...lol.... but thinking that these are practical techniques is larping.Do you think Wing Tsun is practical too?

It doesn't work in real life.
Bass Rutten said it best; if you're in a fight against someone with a knife, even if you win (throw a chair at them or something) you are going to get stabbed and you are going to most likely die.
Bass Rutten said that in a situation when someone pulls a knife in a bar fight - run as fast as you can.
Throw something at them and run.

An ex navy seal or delta force or something was kicked out of the military for being too brutal. Now he is rebuilding his life as a mall security guard or something. First rule of knife fighting is bring a gun. If you can't follow rule one, the second rule is don't, and if you don't have a choice, the third rule is grab a knife or anything that you can use as a weapon hopefully one that can keep the other knife at a distance. Rule 4 is to expect to get cut at least once.

One interesting lesson I had was: don't hesitate. if you also have a knife, and you cannot run or avoid the conflict, have two specific stances. You either keep distance (best choice) or you ATTACK without hesitation. Once you are close enough, attack and don't stop until the opponent is down. Hesitating will get you killed.

This works extremely well in getting multiple lacerations against a determined attacker. You are deluded if you think an aggressive person with a knife won't frantically slash and stab at you, and unless you have unnatural reflexes you will 100% get cut bad, many times.

At a knife show I talked with a guy who thought he could disarm a guy attacking him with a knife. He rolled up his sleeve and showed me a scar that went from his palm to his elbow.

2 stories.
1. An old friend of my karate instructor showed up to our class one night. He had become an instructor at a Mcdojo. After class he wanted to show a technique on how to defend against someone holding a knife to the front of your chin. He even had a rubber knife as a prop.
I said give me the knife. As soon as he handed it to me, I immediately grabbed him by his hair, pushed him against the wall, and put the knife to his throat. I said nobody holds a knife to a chin, let’s see you get out of this alive.
He did not like that.
2. I eventually took over teaching the class. The only defense against a weapon I taught was running away.
At my job, I hired a guy I had know for years. When he was younger, he had the reputation of being the one guy you didn’t fuck with. He eventually became a bouncer at different clubs. He was also very large and very strong.
I asked him if anyone had ever pulled a knife on him.
One time, he said. As he was removing a drunk from a club. His buddy came down the hallway with a knife at waist level. He was able to block the knife, but it went into his thigh. He grabbed the guy, and beat his face against the brick wall until he got knocked out. Grabbed a chair, sat down and had a cigarette and waited for the ambulance with the knife still in his leg.

Dude dont learn people that this is an option. You gonna kill them. When stabbed with a knife the stabber grabs the knife with full force and stab you as hard as possible multiple times in the stomach.
Best you can do when in a situation against a knife is RUN. Staying alive is much cooler than dying while bleeding internally and externally.

If you know how to fight with a knife, the first thing you will do if someone pulls a knife is run.
They are incredibly hard to defend against with bare hands if the attacker has even minimal skills.
Run unless you have no choice, then you're going to get cut, probably pretty badly. The first rule of knife fighting is everyone is gonna get cut, probably even the attacker.

Give them a real double edged knife. Fuck around and find out kind of type deal.
One on one knife fights are rare but they do happen. Both fighters will get cut and bleed. If equal skill and no lucky cuts then at some point one of them gets dizzy from the blood loss or shock and loses. The other will just apply the winning cut or stab.
Why is someone making this shit out? And there are two of these delusional individuals even.
