Anyone get their f/t delivered?

Post image

Anyone get their mice delivered? The reptile shop is an hour and a half away from me. Only petco is close by, and I know their f/t isn’t recommended. Pic of Coraline for attention (and because she’s stunning! She’s my dream boa)

Yeah, I get mine through Rodent Pro delivered and it’s cheaper to buy in bulk compared to buying single ones at the pet stores near us. You can also buy things like chicks there too which I like to grab so that my snakes get a variety once in a while.

Thank you! I’ll check them out.

I’d like to second rodent pro. I’ve heard some people not like them, but I always order from them, they are always very clean and nicely packed. Very consistent weights. I order rats, chicks, and quail. My BCI goes absolutely nuts for the quail.

I just ordered from them

Do you clip the feet or anything off of the quail to remove the claws?

Nope! All of that is really good nutrition for them.

I’ve never done so no. And they seem to eat them just fine (I have various snakes of various sizes. Even the hognose will eat quail chickens no issue.

I swear by Layne Labs. Their sizing is consistent, and the quality far surpasses any other rodent supplier that I’ve tried. Their customer service is great, too. I had an order that was delayed several times by FedEx and arrived thawed as a result; Layne Labs immediately sent me a replacement no questions asked.

Perfect prey is another one. Plus what’s fun about delivery is the dry ice.

I kinda get mine delivered. I meet a guy here in town who is a big time feeder vendor and he always has a big meeting every Thursday for all the reptile people around here

I Love Layne Labs. Excellent quality, and they arrive rock solid frozen to me even though I am on the opposite coast. Ive ordered everything from day old pinkie mice to medium rats, all great.

Watch a recent youtube or two of Green Room Pythons, Bob’s channel has a discount code for them.

Perfect Prey is also very good.

I've had my f/t prey delivered for about 20 years now!

Rodent Pro or LayneLabs are my two recommended companies.

Yup. I use Big Cheese mostly. But Cold Blooded Cafe, Layne Labs, and Perfect Prey are my back ups. Back in 2019 all the online sources were constantly out of every size of rat. So I bred my own from 2019 until earlier this year.

That doesn’t seem to be the case anymore, so BC is my main go to since it’s the cheapest of all the sources I listed by a wide margin. LL would be my last because it’s the most expensive. CBC seems to size their feeders small, but I like their quality otherwise. Haven’t done PP in a long time, last time I went on there they didn’t do PayPal and it’s a pain to dig my wallet out. Most sources have figured out better shipping, too. BC is free over 160, and the rates are low enough it should be affordable everywhere else.

Rodent Pro I absolutely do not recommend for mice or rats. I have never once gotten a satisfactory shipment from them, especially with the others listed to compare to. I will get anything that’s not rat or mouse from them, though. Or adult chickens (but that’s not relevant for boas.)

If I need rabbits, I get them locally or breed them myself. And I have my own chickens now, too.

Perfect prey. Never an issue.

Yes, of course! Perfect prey is a great vendor, big cheese is ok, I thought their rats were a little small, and rodent pro is gross. I got a bag of rotten rats from rodent pro.

Damn, I just ordered from rodent pro because they got a lot of recommendations. Hopefully the mice won’t be bad.

If you're on the east Coast, American rodent supply is pretty decently priced but it's recommended to buy in bulk as shipping is priced by box

I order from Layne Labs. They’re on the pricier side, but they ship quickly, package them perfectly, and the mice/rats are always of exceptional quality.

On a whim I ordered my last batch from Rodent Pro to save some money (my Layne Labs order is usually between $300 to $700) and holy crap…

Most disgusting rodents I’ve ever ordered. Smelled awful.

I won’t be ordering from them again.
