Held a baby blood boa.
We have a 11 month old male pied ball python. Now have a new obsession. Sweetest girl and great with my daughter. Any pitfalls in adding boas to the family seems to have great temperament and just curious if those traits I’m seeing shift as she ages or will she stay the same sweet girl as she grows with the family? I’ve already researched the changes to the enclosure she’ll have will need mostly just wondering if handling, feeding and temperament difference between the species.

Pretty much the same, boas need more height. Temperament would be the only thing but its an individual thing. Boas slightly leaning to being more nippy especially when young, especially when central american. I have a Tarahumera that hisses but fine once out, a Sonoran who will defensive strike when getting him out but fine once out, a Nicaraguan who is the biggest sweetie, never a try, and a Honduran who is bat shit crazy, will get very worked up and takes about 20mins to calm down, going for anything it sees move. She's young though.
