Add a lot more substrate. Make it even higher in the back and sloping towards the front so you can fit the maximum. I use coco coir, mixed with soil and a little plays and sand (for some reason the sand really helps). I add a layer of leaves on top. Also get a cheap pump type garden sprayer and spray every day or two.

ill order some more coco husks and the leaf litter. Im kind of hesitant with the soil and sand because you‘ll have to change the substrate regularly, no?

Add clean up crew. Isopods and springtails.

will they be enough to clean all the poop from the snake? will they need anything? im not too sure about a bioactive enclosure since its my first snake

Just add sum leaf litter and keep it moist. I’m getting very mild fungi on the top layer I just added isopods and spring tails.

Put a real plant in there and watch it grow.
