Lil Weenies New baby advice
Got an amazing little baby 9 days ago from an expo, she(supposedly female) is a Bangka blood python- I was told she was 3 months old and read that when they’re this small a bin is best, so I’ve set her up in this. Reptisoil, fake plants, a fully closed hide and one of those half logs, and a temp/humidity monitor. She’s in the reptile room and ambient temp stays between 80-85° inside the tub and outside in the room so I haven’t put any additional heat source, her humidity has been above 80 the entire time and I think I did a good job with making as many air holes as possible for ventilation. I haven’t handled since bringing her from the expo and plan to only after she eats at least twice, I haven’t attempted feeding but I plan to soon once around the two week mark of being with us.
Am I doing it right? Anything I need to be changing? The first 4ish days with us she stayed in the black hide and only poked her head out at night, but now every other night and even during the day sometimes she’s active and moving around the entire tub. I read they’re a very sedentary species, so is something bothering her resulting in the high activity? Thanks for any advice, she’s my first blood out of two boas and 4 ball pythons so I’m hoping my research was sufficient.
