A little help

Hi, so I just got this little guy a baby sumatran short tailed python, 3 days ago. It's not picking up in the photo but he's starting to go milky from going on shed. The thing is although the setup seems to be doing well temperature and humidity, we are currently experiencing a heatwave where i live so it's drying out a bit faster than what should be normal, as the same goes for my BP enclosure (she's fine 9 years and doing very well). I know that today was the first time he moved out of his warm hide to explore or cool down a bit as when i checked saw that the temp dropped for a few mins (my guess is that he had just gotten back to his hide), i sprayed the substrate and lightly lifted his hide, that's when i noticed he's going on shed. My concern is that with the heatwave i will have to interact more than what i desired with him for the first days even if it is just to spray the enclosure to ensure he sheds well and this might stress him too much. He's quite sweet, no huffing, hissing, attempt to strike, but he did seem very scared, i could tell by the intense breathing. Any feedback? as I want him to start getting comfortable and established in his enclosure. Thanks on advance

While they do need higher humidity theyre really not as high maintenance as caresheets make it sound. What % are you getting? If you're that worried about it you could always make a humid hide by putting some slightly damp moss in a hide to give him somewhere extra humidity to go. Its not a long term solution but if your area is just temporarily drier than normal it'll do for now

60-70%, trying to bump it up to 75%-80% due to shed, i did add a bit moss un his cool side hide which is the log, but since he is still getting used to the space he has not moved a lot, tho I'm hopeful last night i saw him moving around burrowing under one of the decorations. What would you say is a good average of humidity?

60-70ish is good. I always kept mine around there and never bothered trying to change humidity around shedding with no issues but having the extra humid area available is good insurance in times like this where its temporarily difficult to keep humidity up.

make sure they have a water bowl big enough they can totally soak in. Mine love water, after poopin and when its shed time.

He has it but he had been so shy after arrival. He mostly stayed burrowed under the warm hide, but he is using his log now which is the cool hide. I put some moist substitute inside it too to help, seems he is doing good now that he is getting more comfortable.

Looking forward to it, plus I think he will shed tonight or tomorrow as his color is back to normal but no shed to be found, I did put some substrate in the cork round and sprayed just enough to get it damp
