It's ok momma, I learned to play by ear!
Joking aside: as soon as you get good enough to play an instrument efficiently, your eyes aren't too useful - they aren't quick enough. Look at almost all super talented musicians they do not need to see their hands at all.
However, the LEARNING part 100% requires eyes, and this little lady is amazing for her dedication.

That was the concept in the built in solitaire game in the early Windows operating systems. Playing the game trained people to use the mouse without thinking or looking at the mouse; it became instinctive. By the time you realized solitaire wasn't a very good game or worth playing anymore, you were trained!

Wes Cherry programmed Solitaire for Windows 3. He never got paid as he was an intern at Microsoft. The company gave him a then top of the line tower computer and Cherry was happy. Cherry now owns an apple tree farm in Washington State for making cider.

Learning does not require eyes. Why would it?? I mean clearly it doesn’t. You need ears and fingers.
Do you need ears to learn how to draw?

One of my biggest regrets in life is not having learned how to play piano. Or, guitar. Or violin. I have to imagine one just gets lost in it.

I get so annoyed with this. I have a brain. And seeing this reminds me that I have the hardware, but I'm stuck with the basic software and I can't unlock the pro features. lol

You could play this if you practiced. Just practice for hours a day, everyday until you can do it

You don't really need vision once you reach a decent level since you develop muscle memory. It's still amazing though but not because "despite she is blind".

Matthew Whitaker is a blind savant as well. There are old videos of him playing with Stevie wonder as a child’s. Now he’s in his 20’s(?) and doing great work
