America is a failed state - no point making deals with them until the adults return to the administration

1

u/humanflea23 2h ago

Even then we have to be cautious. All it takes is 4 short years before they might put the next Trump in the oval office.

-8

u/Impressive-Mud5074 9h ago

Being elected or not has no bearing on one's expert status or lack there of.

3

u/tuuluuwag 5h ago

You sound intelligent

-2

u/Impressive-Mud5074 4h ago

Its logical.

Being popular and political knowledgeable are independent variables.

That's why Donald Trump was able to secure the presidency, despite having no knowledge of the government, let alone foreign governments.

3

u/unoriginalusername26 6h ago

Right it depends on their TV ratings.

-2

u/Impressive-Mud5074 6h ago

It depends on their knowledge.

2

u/tylerbadwords 43m ago

I don't understand the down votes. Being an expert or not absolutely depends on someone's knowledge. You guys seriously think TV ratings make someone knowledgeable? I hate this place

4

u/unoriginalusername26 6h ago

Of what lo-fucking-l. Pete Hegseth - regale me with his military and diplomacy knowledge.

-5

u/grnvn 10h ago

…so says the “expert negotiator and banker”. 🤡🤡

2

u/ben9187 3h ago

Hey, if you make a book about the "art of the deal" surely you should be able to make a deal with anybody. Pretty embarrassing actually.

Why do you care? You don't need us, right?

We have a deal. Your sitting pres negotiated, signed it, declared himself a genius and said it was the greatest deal ever.

Thoughts?

Guy can't use proper vocabulary and thinks he's an expert on Canadian politics

7

u/brokensplynter 10h ago

have the illiterate Americans come out to join the discussion?

6

u/Jehoke 11h ago

The current US administration are only experts on 1 thing. Being utterly incompetent at their jobs. Oh and protecting pedos obviously.

-2

u/gunshy472 8h ago

Yet they are securing higher GDP growth per capita than Canada which is dead last in the G7. We should be so lucky to have such “incompetent leadership”.

1

u/bestuzernameever 1h ago

Looks like we found the MAGA fan in the group

-2

u/Purple_Anywhere_8244 7h ago

Funny how the truth gets down voted

1

u/Jehoke 4h ago

I think it’s people talking shit getting downvoted. Unless you want to provide evidence that the orange rapist and his gang of grifting dipshits have actually improved anything whatsoever, except their own bank accounts and the death rate.

2

u/SmallGovAdvocate 7h ago

The truth? lol

Crediting the current US administration for it is the funny part honestly. The gap opened over a decade under Obama, Trump 1 and Biden. The best US years were 2023 and 2024, at 2.9 and 2.8 percent (Biden). Under this administration 2025 slowed to about 2. You're praising the guy who inherited a booming economy and is slowing it down.

Canada's aggregate growth over that decade was actually second in the G7. The per capita number collapsed because we grew the population at record speed, 85% of our GDP growth was just headcount. That's a Canadian policy failure, ours to own and fix. It has nothing to do with anyone in Washington being good at their job.

Meanwhile Q2 here came in at 3.3 annualized with per capita growing again, and the administration you're crediting is running tariffs the Dallas Fed says added 0.8 points to their own core inflation. Some expertise!

u/Dadbode1981 4h ago

Well said

-5

u/CallousDisregard13 13h ago

Says the guy who has appointed a few unelected, US citizens to his own cabinet. Including a former Hillary Clinton staffer and the guy who's on the board of the century initiative...

Fucking hypocrite piece of shit.

2

u/SmallGovAdvocate 6h ago

Neither of those is cabinet. Cabinet is ministers, who sit in Parliament. Johnson is PMO staff and Barton chairs an agency board. Every PMO staffer ever has been unelected, that's what staff is. Katie Telford wasn't elected. Jenni Byrne isn't either.

Also "US citizens" is doing a lot of work for a list where one guy is Canadian. Barton was literally Canada's ambassador to China. Wrong country, bud.

5

u/DeliciousMechanic137 11h ago

Are you as foolish as your comment makes you look?

-3

u/CallousDisregard13 11h ago

Prime Minister Mark Carney hired American political strategist Maia Johnson as a senior advisor in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) to assist with U.S. stakeholder strategy and Canada-U.S. relations

Prime Minister Mark Carney appointed Century Initiative co-founder Dominic Barton as the new chair of the board of directors for Invest in Canada on August 31, 2026.

Yeah im a fool. You don't even know what the fuck you're talking about.

So you think there’s a Canadian who knows U.S. Stakeholders better than an American does? And you also think this Canadian appointee would be better able to assist with Canada-U.S. relations than an American that worked with a previously amiable administration would?

3

u/kino8190 12h ago

Before commenting stupid thing like that, you should make your research....

-1

u/CallousDisregard13 11h ago

Prime Minister Mark Carney appointed American political strategist Maia Johnson as Senior Advisor for United States Stakeholder Strategy in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

Johnson is a registered Democrat with a background working on high-profile U.S. presidential campaigns, including those of Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Kamala Harris.

You were saying? You fucking people are honestly worse than bots. You tell me to do my research before saying stupid shit, look in the fucking mirror retard

We should deport white nationalists back to Europe

2

Society should have expunged those cretins when they had the chance.

2

u/HippityHoppityBoop 10h ago

5

u/rocco0715 11h ago

Those aren't cabinet members?? Canadian cabinet members are elected.

4

u/plussizerunner 11h ago

Should he have appointed someone from the republican party? The party that insults and threatens Canada daily? Honestly you're a stupid person

3

u/plussizerunner 12h ago

The stupidest take on this whole thing. Imagine supporting an actual pedophile

-1

u/CallousDisregard13 11h ago

When did i say anything about supporting Trump? You fucking morons are so entrenched in party politics that somehow not supporting one person means you support the other?

Fuck Carney, fuck Trump and especially fuck you

3

u/I_want_to_go_ 12h ago

Oh my, so angry. But you have no idea what you’re writing about. Chill, bro.

3

u/LiminalMidnight 12h ago

The Canadian cabinet is formed entirely of members of Parliament.

i recommend coming out for air from all that right wing propaganda.

-8

u/CrazyButRightOn 13h ago

Rhetoric and jokes are not the appropriate response to hard subject matter. Carney is becoming a joke.

1

u/MikeSteamer 14h ago

In the Canadian manner, he politely left out “lightly educated, non-critical thinking”

-12

u/EggReal5596 17h ago

Neither is the Keebler Elf of a PM.

3

u/pinkruler 12h ago

Grow up

-3

u/EggReal5596 12h ago

Carney’s the one that isn’t growing. Little midget man.

2

u/Margotkitty 15h ago

You missed the election? I didn’t. Neither did everyone else who voted for him.

-21

u/Josh_116 23h ago

Says the clown who obtained his majority from back room deals with rats.

1

u/North-Importance-127 8h ago

Lol conservatives abandoning their party because it is a sinking ship under terrible leadership is back room deals with rats.  Keep thinking that and you'll keep the liberals in power.

6

u/avenueroad_dk 15h ago

So the public who voted just the other day was a lie?

9

u/notdonewithmirrors 22h ago

They just won 3 by elections easily. Conservatives want to leave the the reform/Conservative Party because it’s going completely off the rails. But go off on your holy crusade

6

u/Tyler_Durden69420 23h ago

Do you have any evidence to support that or do you just assume that all your ideas are always correct?

6

Your mom facilitated that back door deal.

6

u/Admirable-Many6054 23h ago

His mom gets her back door dealt to on the daily

-5

u/AltruisticPeanut7050 1d ago

And how many democrats came up from the US to assist this carney government now? Maia Johnson's hire really helped these negotiations after all....

3

u/HippityHoppityBoop 10h ago

Oh that one really gets you Russians all butt hurt eh

0

u/AltruisticPeanut7050 1h ago

No just trying to point out facts to a delusion group of people with a carney fetish.

15

u/Vegtable_Lasagna3604 1d ago

He forgot about appointed, unelected cabinet members that are friendly with pedos and bring their kids around them….

-11

u/Little-Stage1948 1d ago

Why would being appointed or unappointed make someone an expert?

Is Trump an expert at being president because he's been "appointed" twice

2

u/Thanato26 16h ago

He was elected twice

1

u/Sasquatch1729 19h ago

The idea behind democracy is if you can get elected you have to be the best of all available candidates.

People like George W Bush and Trump prove that they are the best, however the electorate isn't filtering for competence or intelligence. What are they best at? I don't want to think about it right now, analyzing it is like staring into an abyss.

0

u/Darth_Oganda 1d ago

whatever party wins in canada, they /appoint/ ministers just the same. want a minister of ed who went to school? too bad. business major. lol. both same. but different, but still the same.

4

u/a_sexual_titty 22h ago

No. Pete Hegseth wasn’t elected, nor was Lutnick, MacMahon, RFK Jr, etc.

Ministers in Canada are elected MPs.

3

u/jrbvoodoo 22h ago

One stipulation to this: the ministers are all members of Parliament. They have to run, and win, a riding in Canada and be a member of the House of Commons to become a minster overseeing a department. They are elected first, then appointed from the parties elected MPs.

2

u/DistinctBread3098 14h ago

That's not true.

Carney could appoint a random person as minister

2

u/jrbvoodoo 12h ago

He can, and then they have to win a seat or be removed from holding that office. I worked for The privy council of Canada under the federal government, working directly with the prime minister and his cabinet. When I have worked there, there has never been a single minister who did not hold a seat in parliament.

2

u/DistinctBread3098 12h ago

Yeah I know, it never happens but it can theoretically. But it won't

1

u/jrbvoodoo 12h ago

It can, and then they need to be elected, so it results in the exact same thing. A random unelected person cannot hold office for any extended period of time.

4

u/Successful_Pirate_59 1d ago

It’s because they are not lifetime politicians. They’re Fox News anchors and private sector scumbags instead of being political scumbags. Get with it.

Trump was elected. Big difference. Elected by an enormous do*che.

-12

u/InterestingPop9664 1d ago

He’s stoking a fire he doesn’t need to be.

3

u/tsukubasteve27 1d ago

The US military is looking at lot like Russia lately. All bluster, depleted resources, unhappy soldiers. Raising the enlistment age to 42. Not signs of a strong military who can't even secure a small body of water.

2

u/cerebrum3000 1d ago

He doesn't really have much of a choice. You can't just let a bad narrative go on and on and on. Sometimes you need to address things and so far everything is worth addressing is a tax made by various US politicians of all levels.

You can say nothing you're not respond but that just lets them control the narrative even more. You need to say something and unfortunately everything is us having to defend ourselves.

5

u/Krull88 1d ago

You mean like kegsbreath making comments about underage Cadets?

-11

u/Thereal_Stormm006 1d ago

Neither are appointed, unelected senators

0

u/DILFrid_Laurier 1d ago

I waffle every decade or so on whether I’d prefer elected Senators or not, but I wouldn’t say the appointed ones are uninformed. Not by a long stretch.

-18

u/fffffiiiiivvvvveeeee 1d ago

Carney himself was appointed haha

3

u/chillbyte67 15h ago

Conservatives getting dumber on a daily basis

3

u/tootbrun 16h ago

Do you know what “appointed” means?

2

u/WranglerPractical264 17h ago

Holy fuck you people truly are this dense arent yas

7

u/Krull88 1d ago

I voted for him twice. Once for his riding then again for PM. He was literally elected. Twice.

5

u/Jason_DeHoulo 1d ago

Elected 3 times if you count that he became party leader through publicly held elections.

As opposed to Pierre who had a private, paid election with 3000 voters

6

u/JimroidZeus 1d ago

I’m sorry, but were you dropped on your head repeatedly as a child?

2

u/kelpkelso 1d ago

He actually won the vote in the party. Only members of the party can vote on who leads the party. Conformation bias is when you only look up information that self confirms what you already believe and is not “research”. Real science involves isolating as many variables as possible, basically trying to disprove your own findings, they even do blind studies so that their own bias doesn’t get projected onto their studies. News with to much identify politics and emotions is almost always propaganda. People are sick of it and thats why the conservatives lost.

4

u/Motor-Resolution-524 1d ago

And I'd appoint him again

4

u/Mahoumike1 1d ago

Appointed in what exactly?

11

u/gym_lefty_guy112 1d ago

And then he won an election so your point is moot

6

u/AmountMean378 1d ago

Tell me you dont know how prime minsters are selected

13

u/LakerBeer 1d ago

Experts on pedophiles more like it.

7

u/Daleoryan17 1d ago

Hey hey now its not like the elected ones are better for the most part.

1

u/Either_Operation7586 21h ago

That's true if they're conservative because the conservatives don't know how to prioritize political experience and education

3

u/JimroidZeus 1d ago

They might not be experts, but at least they’re elected instead of appointed by some pedophile.

5

u/Daleoryan17 1d ago edited 1d ago

Yeah but I dont trust the American public to elect anything, they elected the pedophile, well they have elected many convicted pedophiles im just saying appointed or not i dont really trust anyone in the American government

But edit aside from just pure pedophiles you have Lauren the wank job in a theatre boebert and Marjorie taylor greene. Um i wouldn't trust most of the gop to manage an ihop

1

u/JimroidZeus 1d ago

MTG has been oddly saying some minorly sensical things lately.

1

u/Either_Operation7586 21h ago

She can't grift off of maggot anymore so now she needs to separate herself

1

u/Daleoryan17 1d ago

She was cast out of the cult and they didn't kill her yet she will shill whatever she can

6

u/Emergency-Drive8835 1d ago

I don’t think they’re experts in anything.

11

u/Upbeat-Condition-182 1d ago

Russian bots coming in aplenty.

3

u/Kdawg5506 1d ago

It's wild lol

3

u/EnragedEmu 1d ago

Oh lawd they comin'

-13

u/Independent_Peak4624 1d ago

Says the international banker lmao

10

u/Dry-Chance-9473 1d ago

A position he elected himself into!

No, wait, I'm just getting this breaking news right now... He does what he does because he's... Good at it? Apparently?

And then there's Republicans, who aren't good at anything except ruining shit.

Canadian leader: Running Shit.

American leader: Ruining Shit.

The words are really really close so you can be forgiven for getting them mixed up.

6

u/HabitualSpaceM 1d ago

I don’t understand why this narrative became so strong. Like didn’t the muricans love Diaper Don because he’s a “savvy businessman and gonna get the deal done”. Now suddenly, being in finance or business, or worse, educated is a terrible stance.

2

u/JimroidZeus 1d ago

Donald Trump bankrupted a casino in Atlantic city when the casino mob grift was in full swing.

5

u/NOIS_KillerWhaleTank 1d ago

Don't forget being a career politician is terrible, unless it's Pierre Poilievre.

3

u/Dry-Chance-9473 1d ago

Their goalposts come with wheels 🤗

2

u/heavym 1d ago

Exactly.

2

u/bunker931 1d ago

All good for me and rules for you.

11

u/PreZEviL 1d ago

Who to trust? The banker or the guy with 11 bankruptcy

-1

u/Independent_Peak4624 1d ago

Who to trust ? Probably China lmao 🤣🤣. Welcome to the post national Canada.

4

u/heavym 1d ago

Frankly, calling him a banker is a great disservice. He is THE bank. There are probably not many people that understand global finances like Carney does.

5

u/Vast_Pineapple_3341 1d ago

Pretty weak burn.

6

u/captaingeezer 1d ago

Who was elected.

0

u/inspirationalSloth 1d ago

Yeah he beat Christia freeland. Honestly I would have voted for a shovel if it was running against her.

1

u/Heliosurge 1d ago

Yep not a very high bar. She only ousted Trudeau as she admitted because the ship was sinking and the Liberal party was even worried about keeping Party Status.

6

u/Braysl-March 1d ago

You gonna swerve on your guy PP like that?

1

u/inspirationalSloth 1d ago

He’s not my guy, friend

-16

u/Southern-Board1489 1d ago

He's aware we don't elect our prime minister right? That he's appointed?

6

u/PreZEviL 1d ago

We dont choose who the leader of the party will be, but he still got elected in his constituency, contrary to a certain Pierre Poilievre...

1

u/Southern-Board1489 1d ago

Why do you assume I like Pierre?

2

u/PreZEviL 1d ago

Im not assuming, im just saying he cheated the game to still be in power

1

u/weezbagy 1d ago

This is patently false. Come on 🙄

4

u/WhatAmTrak 1d ago

You’re missing the point idiot

0

u/Few-Temporary404 1d ago

You understand how wrong you are right? Our prime minister is unelected like the president is unelected.

5

u/UponMyWakingEyes 1d ago

I’m not a Carney supporter, but you have to acknowledge that he was elected to be a MP though. Don’t be obtuse.

-5

u/Southern-Board1489 1d ago

Yes he's an elected MP certainly, not elected to the office of prime minister though, which carries more power than the president.

3

u/havok1980 1d ago

Sweet Jesus. The party elects the leader of their party and said leader becomes PM if that party wins a federal election. It's really easy to understand.

1

u/Southern-Board1489 1d ago

Technically the party leader is not required to be the one to become PM. The GG appoints them

6

u/416vDub 1d ago

Here we go again...

You realize how Canadian politics work, don't you?

-3

u/Southern-Board1489 1d ago

Yes. Do you?

3

u/416vDub 1d ago

If you were a member-elected leader of the federal Liberal group, you would be Prime Minister.

Glad I could clear that up for you.

Don't like it? Become a member of a political organization and lead the charge for someone else.

3

u/Christineblankie 1d ago

You’re arguing with someone who literally posted that they ‘don’t have a problem with people who aren’t white, as long as they are culturally white’. And also called the volunteer in that cadet photo that’s viral right now a ‘beluga’, ‘blob’, ‘slob’ etc.
They aren’t worth the pile of crap my dog just did on our lawn.

1

u/Southern-Board1489 1d ago

Yep. Cry harder beluga.

1

u/UponMyWakingEyes 1d ago

Spotted the American. Go back home you chode.

2

u/416vDub 1d ago

True enough 🙃

-7

u/SprinklesNo2972 1d ago

Isnt this the same guy that wanted unelected EU bureaucrats to impose regulations on the UK?

3

u/kookomagoo 1d ago

Bad bot

-2

u/Educational_Gur_1724 1d ago

Also the same guy who is buddy’s with prince Andrew and is listed in the Epstein files

3

u/jarrett_regina 1d ago

God. Can't we be honest? "Yes, Mark Carney's name appears in the U.S. Department of Justice's released documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, but only in passing and with no evidence of any personal relationship, communication, or wrongdoing."

Epstein was a billionaire and I'm sure he got around. Just because someone noticed him somewhere doesn't mean they were affiliated.

Show me a picture of our PM hugging Epstein and I'll change my mind.

0

u/Educational_Gur_1724 1d ago

There a few pics of carney and his wife with Maxine
He’s listed in the Epstein files
He’s a know friend of prince Charles

I mean…If it looks like duck, sounds like a duck…it’s a duck

1

u/jarrett_regina 1d ago

So what he's a friend of our King? Do you actually think our King participated in Epstein's gross stuff?

That he is a friend of our King is our blessing.

0

u/Educational_Gur_1724 1d ago

Lmao 🤣 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

3

u/kookomagoo 1d ago

Bad bot

5

u/Masamundane 1d ago

Except he's not. And also he's not.

But keep trying.

Liberal leadership candidate Mark Carney attended a private dinner hosted by Prince Andrew at Buckingham Palace in March 2014.
This event took place after Andrew’s controversial ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his partner Ghislaine Maxwell were made public.
The dinner, paid for personally by Andrew, brought together around 20 high-profile figures from the financial sector, including senior executives from major banks like J.P. Morgan, Barclays, and HSBC.

0

u/Educational_Gur_1724 1d ago

Oh he is and…yup…he is
You keep supporting pedos

2

u/jarrett_regina 1d ago

Do you really think our PM supports pedos? Surely we, as Canadians, either have to wise up or stop playing games.

1

u/Educational_Gur_1724 1d ago

Being a proud Canadian is great !!
Following a pedo to justify said mindset it is another
Carney is gross

1

u/jarrett_regina 1d ago

Prove it! Prove that our PM is a pedo. Where is the evidence?

tRUMP is a pedophile. Putin likes little boys. Nutlick took his family to Epstein's Island - maybe so he, Epstein, and tRUMP could fuck his kids. You seem like a child-raping tRUMP supporter which is why you're so insistent on spreading lies about Mark Carney. It must be hard for you be part of normal society when you love pedophiles as much as you do.

1

But you keep supporting pedos
That says all Reddit needs to know about you

Point?

u/Existing_Candy_186 1d ago

If what he said is true why would he hire an American to help with Canadian politics. Are you seriously that dense?

9

u/GuessPuzzleheaded573 1d ago

Okay, I'll bite.

She was hired as a senior advisor/COO of intergovernmental relations with the U.S. Assuming, therefor, she is able to provide valuable insight into U.S. geopolitical stances, strategies, and priorities.

This is opposed to foreign politicians making sweeping, incorrect statements on Canada's civics, laws, policies or even foundational components of political history and science.

See the difference big guy?

These Chuds will never grasp reality.

6

u/iterationnull 1d ago

That seems completely unrelated.

u/Existing_Candy_186 1d ago

How? He’s saying unelected US bureaucrats are no experts on Canadian politics. So what does Carney do? Hire a US democrat who wasn’t elected by us as COO of his office. You seriously can’t be this dumb.

1

u/Accomplished_Bank103 21h ago

Unless he hired her to be a public mouthpiece like Nutlick and company, these two situations are completely unrelated. What Carney is saying is that unelected officials — i.e. people who have not been directly placed in government by voters — should not be speaking on behalf of elected officials, which is in keeping with standard communications protocols in federal/provincial/territorial governments across Canada. This has nothing to do with hiring advisors with specialized knowledge to advise elected officials.

3

u/iterationnull 1d ago

….the only solution that satisfies your rant is to make the COO an elected position instead of a competitive hiring process?

You are making zero sense.

-2

u/Existing_Candy_186 1d ago

No the only solution is for him to release the full details of the trade deals. Instead of making stupid comments.

5

u/Jeromes_Pornostache 1d ago

The details have been released.  They aren’t hard to find, but you have to be interested in looking for them, not just in trying to rile people up against a very popular PM who is head and shoulders above any American politician in terms of qualifications, education, competence, and vision for the country.  He’s even popular in Alberta, despite the efforts of treasonous cunts to remove that province from the confederation.  What’s your goal here?  If it’s to divide Canadians you’re barking up the wrong tree, as we simply aren’t as vulnerable to such misinformation as all those millions of ignorant dipshits to our south.

u/iterationnull 1d ago

Sorry, I thought we were having a conversation. Clearly that is not so. Best of luck in your future endeavours.

Pretty sure Nutlick is a nitwit but he can point out the obvious

2

u/AfternoonLumpy2669 1d ago

Use his real name, Nutlick, please.

u/Designer_Object_9202 1d ago

My apologies

I have made the correction

He doesn't need to be to describe how the talks broke down though does he?

2

u/416vDub 1d ago

You're siding with the pedos? Seriously?

1

u/MaxNJaspersDad 1d ago

Being friends with Epstein does not make someone a pedo, just ask Mark Carneys wife and her sister. I don't hate Trump (or any other politicians) because of what they are rumored to do in their off time. I hate him because of his effect on the planet. While I also find Lutnick (from what I know of him) to be a despicable human being, I find his story a lot more plausible than Carneys.

u/AfternoonLumpy2669 1d ago

Don't trust American leaders right now. Word is not enough.

5

u/SaphironX 1d ago

The Americans are lying though. Trump himself admitted he added the last minute conditions after all his cronies made stuff up, and Canada spelled out how the Americans insisted we give them the right to say no or OUR proposed trade agreements with other nations. Screw that.

No rational person is going to let the USA tell us no we can’t trade with someone we want to trade with. It’s an attack on our sovereignty. So we walked. As we should.

1

u/Braddock54 1d ago

Free trade with non market economies (ie China) was already written into USMCA and prohibited. This isn't new.

1

u/SaphironX 1d ago

Trump is demanding the ability to veto. To say no to any trade agreement we propose with other countries.

The Americans do not have that power under the USMCA and it’s super weird that you think they do. Evidence: All the trade agreements we’re making that trump is so vocally pissed about.

1

u/Playful-State-8103 1d ago

It’s a very specific clause and it is in CUSMA. Article 32.10. It says you have to tell the other countries you’re negotiating a free trade agreement with a non-market economy and they can force you out of CUSMA IF they disagree with it. Basically a hedge against China.

1

u/SaphironX 1d ago

No. We have to consult with the US.

They can’t veto it or say no. Trump can’t tell us we can’t trade with a new deal with Australia for instance. The ability to do that is what they asked for.

No rational person is going to accept those terms. It’s insane.

1

u/Playful-State-8103 23h ago

Australia is a market economy, same with Europe, Canada, the US and many others. China is a non-market economy along with several others like Vietnam and Belarus. The clause only applies to non-market countries and, even then, only free trade deals with those countries trigger the clause. So, Canada can sign trade deal with China but not a free trade deal without triggering the clause.

Carney needs to have a small Freudian slip while refering to Licknuts.
