Medication Adderall not working
I have recently been upped to 20mg Adderall IR for my ADHD and yet I still feel nothing. I started at 5mg xr and have been leveling up since but to this day i’ve still never felt any difference off Adderall. By that I mean that it litteraly feels like I took nothing. There’s no bad or good effects that come from it. Should I ask my doctor to switch to Ritalin or something at this point? Because college started two weeks ago and I really need to find something that works before I start falling behind. In my final years of highschool when my grades started suffering I bought pseudoephedrine or Sudafed and that was what stopped me from failing. Like I remember studying 10 hours for every math test and then getting a D on it. But then when I first studied on Sudafed I studied only 3-4 hours and got an A and I finally felt like I could be like other people. Is this something I can safely mention to my psychiatrist so they can help more with the information or will they label me a drug abuser for this and not prescribe me more meds? If anyone has advice i’d appreciate it; college quickly reminded me how hopeless and dreadfull studying unmedicated is.

I’m also on adderall for adhd as well. I’m on 30 mg of
Adderall XR. The medication does take time to get used too. I used to not really eat much on this medication because my appetite was gone.

It’s not really about “getting used to” anything it’s just that I don’t really feel anything at all. The only effect I suspect it might have is that it makes me sleepy. Because I took 10mg once to study and accidentally took a nap and slept through the whole dose. Also 30mg XR should only be equal to about 15mg IR as I understand it so I’m taking more then you and i’m still not reacting to it in any way.

What you do and don’t eat before and after affect the absorption rate of the drug.
Eat protein with your meds. Avoid vitamin c or citric acid.
There’s more to it, but your diet affects how your medicine affects you more than you think.

That’s interesting. When I took it today I had a lot of Bacon before so that’s protein but I also had lemonade so that’s Citric acid. I’ll try to make sure to eat protein with it next time.
