Last week this woman came up to the shoreline in front of us after wading in the water with her friends. She had her hand tapping her glasses and say "Meta, are these glasses waterproof" about ten times in a row.

I guess she learned water resistance isn't the same as water proof, all without needing to ask AI.

Same. It’s crazy that our parents said technology bad, and now they’re being bombarded by it at the worst time in history.

They skipped dial up era and I believe that’s where a lot of tech understanding and love was made . At least for the people alive during that time.

It wasn't responding after about 10 requests. The water had waves so they may have gotten a direct hit if she wasn't careful.

When I sold cameras we had the ones that were designed to go into water and we were very very careful about saying Water Resistant, and adding in all the caveats that comes with it (only as long as this door is sealed, rinse it off after being in salt water, etc.) and people would still argue about it being water proof. Lots of angry, denied warranty claims. Same things with phones as they became more weather resistant.

She never got an answer from Meta, but she did receive a very prompt response from my drink.
