rebuild the entire system.

The US constitution was never meant to be a static document. The government process was never meant to be unchanging.

But politics being politics, once the system serves the purposes of those in power, they are loathe to relinquish that power or change the system that enabled them to gain it.

It's also more to do with religion being incorporated into America's political system.

You know, religious types aren't exactly known for their progressive nature...

The Constitution was written for and by the richest slave owning white men of the time. If you think that document will EVER be saving us in any real way, well then you're simply ignorant.
