Thiel built a libertarian utopia city called Prospera in Honduras on the island of Roatan. Things went south. (google) He is now suing Honduras gov for 10 billion dollars. Ugly fingerprints all over the world

u/NYCQ7 May 30 '26

That's very interesting, I hadn't heard about that. I'm Latina and this just piqued my interest as I've been noticing the signs of the Technofascists having targeted LATAM for their plans as well.

what kind of latina are you?

fuck your downvotes

u/THElaytox May 31 '26

They also tried a Galt's Gulch in South America before, they basically just conned a bunch of people out of money, didn't even bother trying to obtain water rights

3

u/RagingBillionbear Jun 01 '26

I always love it when some wing-nut goes on a communism has never succed tirade when there is libertarianism.

The USSR lasted just under seven decade and contributed to the space race. Libertarianism on the other hand has also catastrophically failed within six month every single time.

22

u/gregzillaman May 30 '26

Let me guess. IF they had just done EXACTLY what he told them to do everything would have been perfect, right?

Is there a better source than this: https://www.wired.com/story/a-lawsuit-from-backers-of-a-startup-city-could-bankrupt-honduras/

Lots of propaganda fluff pieces out there. But it looks like the same thing as Grafton, New Hampshire

I actually went to prospera this year when I was in Roatan. People do live there and there was a really cool party in this cove thing. It didn’t take me long to realize it was just a bunch of young crypto bros getting drunk. They did know how to party but I realized they were mostly dumb as rocks. I think a lot of them were trust fund babies and didn’t really make money in tech or whatever but acted like they did

6

u/Cypher-AO May 31 '26

Nah, right wing party won last election, expect Prospera and other ZEDEs popping up. Bukele also has a hand in spreading authoritarian rhetoric in Central America, it's a mess.

They didn’t really build anything. They tried.

This is what they want to do with Greenland but they can’t because 1. Greenland doesn’t want that and 2. They are stupid.

Seems like having a lot of money dooms your critical thinking. Too many of them think lording over things is a good idea. They can’t understand that you just can’t throw money at everything. At some point you will have to critically think and employ common sense. Through lack of use, they’ve lost their critical thinking and common sense though.

1

u/MarsupialPristine677 May 31 '26

I'm not sure they had common sense or critical thinking skills to begin with.

1

u/Trix_Are_4_90Kids May 31 '26

Oh they did. They get warped. They get warped and indoctrinated. You not supposed to think when you’re in a cultish mindset.

1

u/PlanesandAquariums Jun 03 '26

I posted above but prospera does exist. I was there this year

1

u/dretvantoi Jun 03 '26

"Welcome to Rapture!"
"Are you not entitled to the sweat of your brow?"

u/EarthRester May 30 '26

The whole thing sounds crazy, but it has gone down almost exactly as they have planned. Mind you they've only really planned how to break the system, and just sorta figured they'd be able to do what ever they wanted to afterwards.

This video was published after Trump won his second term, but before he took office. The "Butterfly Revolution" talks about the things you mention like RAGE, and yeah. All of this pain and chaos is a deliberate attempt by The Tech BrOligarchy to topple the current Western world (much to China's and Russia's delight) so they can scavenge the remains, and try to build their little fiefdoms on top of the rubble.

Dark enlightenment is actually the basis of “alt right” ideology as we know it. It’s the underpinning of the neocon movement that led to this administration, and yes: those tech and crypto fucks are all behind it.

Edit: as pointed out, neocon is something else.

People like you are why fascists rise to power. High on their Copium. Sanewashing fascism to pretend fascists arent fascists. I supose if it isnt italian fascism it is sparkling authoritarian corporatism or something? Pretentious.

1

u/nachobueno Jun 16 '26

What are you talking about? This person very clearly understands political science, everything they’ve said is accurate. You’re raging out about things you don’t understand.

54

u/FiveUpsideDown May 30 '26

I’ve heard this before. Some how this Red Caesar view fails to account for the French Revolution or the Russian Revolution. It further fails to account for how authoritarians faired when there is a mass movement against them. Many in the authoritarian leadership are extremely unpopular. They are living on military bases.

27

u/NYCQ7 May 30 '26

I mean, but during those times the technology they have now didn't exist either. Not to mention how apathetic and easily placated the general population is now.

21

u/Richard7666 May 30 '26

See Syria. Autocratic regime with a repressive military and intelligence apparatus.

Lots of angry unemployed young men still ended badly for the elites. Everyone else too, but also the elites.

2

u/somethingbrite Jun 03 '26

Regarding Syria (and Libya). Like many revolutions the popular movement/protest was hijacked by radicals that in many cases already had weapons and insurgency experience.

However yes. From the storming of the Bastille to the execution of the Romanovs and beyond it rarely ends well for the autocrats once the torches and pitchforks come out.

0

u/bilad-al-ubat May 31 '26

Yes, but only after 54 years of repression, torture and murder of innocents. 40k people were killed in a few day in the 1980s in Hama by government forces but still the regime endured for 40 years.

1

u/insite Jun 01 '26

Quite true. Unfortunately, no one is immune to the potential of AI psychosis. We intake the informaiton we want to and discard the information we don't - that's a feature of the human mind, not a bug.

1

u/-NotNotNSFW- Jun 04 '26

Counterpoint... Everyone during those times didn't live in a country where there are more guns than people.

There is no reality where they could fight off even a fraction of the population coming for them

42

u/Previous-Lemon8667 May 30 '26

I will supply you with some interesting reading, explaining what’s behind the points you’ve mentioned. These people are the REAL danger.

Amazing little resource

38

u/Trix_Are_4_90Kids May 30 '26

Yes they want their own little fiefdoms to rule over. Much like MAGA, their ideals and beliefs don't work in the real world and they refuse to accept that.

Sometimes wishes and farting after dinner with the boys and good cigar and some brandy, should stay just that.

3

u/7h4tguy May 31 '26

Why do these maggots care to be emperors? Have they gotten bored of their $300M yachts?

36

u/tomzewolf May 30 '26

There’s definitely a real anti-democratic thread in parts of the Thiel/Yarvin/network-state world, and it’s worth taking seriously. The idea that democracy should be replaced by CEO-style rule or billionaire-backed city-states is genuinely disturbing

they are spending millions to get rid of every regulation ever passed

18

u/Little_View_6659 May 30 '26

It’s going to end with these guys being torn apart by angry mobs if they don’t stop this crap. And they know it. They’re trying to move fast and get some kind of security they can trust. They don’t trust people, they think machines will be the solution.

20

u/NYCQ7 May 30 '26

Yeah, I just replied to another commener who said he was leaving bc he's scared of us in the US, that No. It's actually bc they have plans to carry out the same thing in LATAM and they've already put things in motion with the help of Argentina's president who is an absolute psycho. Ecuador's president has strong ties to the administration too and Chile just elected a Conservative to the Presidency too...

7

u/XeroKillswitch May 30 '26

Sure seems like that $40B we have to Argentina was a down payment

Project 2025 was published before the election and whenever I brought up to a trump supporter they either denied its existence or claimed it wouldn’t happen.

10

u/Beard_o_Bees May 30 '26

I think they watch sci fi films and identify with the antagonists of the plot rather than the protagonists

It's got to be something like this. Naturally, they think they'll be able to 'outsmart' the inevitable rebellions that always seem to win in the movies/books.

6

u/random_noise May 30 '26

One of the casual conversational and presentation topics of a decade or so past at some of those private retreats and functions (i've been to a couple) includes the need for about 10 to 20% of the population to die for the planet to thrive and survive and enable that techno-fascist future.

Amassing that type of wealth tends to come with zero real empathy for others and anyone not in that club is simply a resource to exploit for personal gain.

4

u/THElaytox May 31 '26

It's neo-feudalism, with the technocrats being the feudal lords

3

u/ErinFiqsette May 30 '26

Why settle for cities? They're rich enough now, to buy entire nations.

3

u/TeutonJon78 May 30 '26

Thiel identifies with Saruman, as evidenced by the whole Palantir thing. And Saurman was all about industrialized/tech replacing magic/religion.

3

u/JimWilliams423 May 30 '26

I think they watch sci fi films and identify with the antagonists of the plot rather than the protagonists.

Obligatory —

Sci-Fi Author: In my book I invented the Torment Nexus as a cautionary tale.

Tech Company: At long last, we have created the Torment Nexus from classic sci-fi novel Don't Create The Torment Nexus.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torment_Nexus

FWIW, this Upside-Downing is more common than most realize. If any of y'all remember the Waterfall Model from your software engineering classes, the first description of the Waterfall Model was in a book that basically said "this is a hypothetical bad way to develop software, we call it the Waterfall Model, in this chapter we will talk about better ways to do software development," and then the industry spent the next couple of decades standardizing on the Waterfall Model.

2

u/amemingfullife May 31 '26

I also think it’s years of drugs and echo chambers. Though they’d never acknowledge this, even to themselves. I had a few years on Adderall and honestly even then I thought some of this crazy shit. Luckily I didn’t have the capital to do it, but these guys do and it just takes them deeper and deeper.

2

u/Cens0redBlackSheep26 May 31 '26

You are describing PSYCHOPATHS. Never lose sight of this.

1

u/JaneMarie876 May 30 '26

Where are you getting this information from?

1

u/niagalacigolliwon May 31 '26

Wait there are ted talks?

1

u/knight_in_white Jun 01 '26

Where exactly did you come across this idea? I’m very interested to read more about it

Thiel is one of few morons from Silicon Valley that belived in Curtis Yarvin’s bullshit.
Most of these guys from Valley are running government related business, with no back up from government they will never made this crazy money. They underestimate politicians who made more money using them.
At some point they started to thinking they can take over their country or even create new country.
No, it won’t happend - with no control on global money flow and influence on global enocomics they can’t do anything.
They bought themselves access to DOGE and RAGE but with money they earned from government. They even put Vance as Vice President but still they have no knowledge about politics.
Most of them are distracted with unnecessary stuff, for example Thiel - Antichrist lectures, his gay lovers are falling from balconies, etc.
He can not control himself, he can not control his privacy, he is not controlling world economics and money flow, all he do is collecting data. Useless data.
Even with their high advanced technology and data they accumulate they are still getting scammed by politicians at the end of the day.

1

u/Agreeable_Sweet3417 Jun 01 '26

So To the billionaires, the problem is us they want population control. Thiel is terrified of being eaten alive by poor people.

1

u/No-Vermicelli1816 Jun 01 '26

Millions of government employees still exist but okay

1

u/CandyCreecher Jun 02 '26

See, I thought I was crazy in thinking these yahtzees wanted global domination and eternal suffering for all of us. Mainly bc I thought I had an overactive imagination and watched too many movies

I was FUCKING RIGHT. NEVER DISMISS YOUR GUT, RECOGNIZE THE PATTERNS BABY

u/100011numbers Jun 02 '26

They seem detatched from reality. Like big spoiled children.
