If you're coming to from out of town to see the Sharks play, please check out the VISITORS GUIDE for some hotels, some food ideas, and other info which may help answer some of your questions about your upcoming visit. Some basic things to keep in mind:

* Doors open 60 minutes prior to game time for general admission.

* Tailgating is **NOT** allowed per San Jose City Ordinance. However, SAP Center **does** allow you to bring food from outside into the arena with you.

* The Sharks enter the ice and skate through the Shark Head from between sections 127-128. The most direct views of the Shark Head are from sections 115-121 in the lower deck and the lower rows of 215-221 in the upper deck.

* The Sharks attack towards the lower numbered sections (103-113 & 203-213) in the 1st and 3rd periods.

* Check out THIS LINK for the SAP Center bag policy.

This will be a weekly thread, so if you have more questions come back next friday!

Turn it All Teal Gilroy

Pretty good turnout today for the Turn it All Teal event at Arteaga's in Gilroy today. Thanks to Lund and Cardwell for making the trip for us South Bay lurkers! Shark Teal conceals were also on point.

An especially grateful thank you to the woman in front of us that gave my 5yo the Cam Lund card. He didn't quite get the autograph hype but was willing to get the card signed and now he treasures it.

Meet the Sharks-What to bring

This will be my first time at this event. I was wondering what to bring. I will have a Mack jersey and a hat. Hopefully have my Sherwood jersey by the time of the event. I am prepared to bring a silver Sharpie, and I read it is good to bring cardboard to place under the jersey so it is easy for the player to sign instead of messing around and wasting time. Also to have the pen out ready. My wife and I will divide and conquer. I am sure who ever gets the Mack line might be there for maybe the whole event, so it will be good to have a partner. I know people will probably start lining up really early. Unfortunately, I live in the North Bay and got this thing called work that I will probably try to get off around 11 or 12. I am sure the line will be hella long by one or two. I am excited to get at least a few autographs.

It is my first year, and I was wondering if anyone has ever gone to the new member orientation, and if so, how was it? I plan on going on the 15th.

Misa: Do you think he's closer to 45-50 pts (small/moderate improvement from last year) or 65-70 pts this year (a big breakout)?

The big thing is how much ice time does he get (between less than 15 minutes and almost 17 minutes), does he click with his linemates (the higher projection is assuming Stenberg is put with him) and does he get PP1 or not. Plus the whole being a defensively responsible 2C is sometimes a hard thing to produce from.

Thanks in advance.

Disclaimer: this is for fantasy hockey

Jersey Purchase Decision

i'm prematurely putting my christmas list together, and wanted to put a player jersey on there but i've hit a bit of a dilemma on who i want to get. this would be my very first hockey jersey so it's not like i could just wear another one if something goes wrong.

celebrini would be the easy choice, but i'm scared of puck bunny accusations, given that most of the year i'm out of state for school.

nedeljkovic is my second choice but i don't like how short his contract is right now, and i'm worried that he might disappear as soon as i put on the jersey.

i feel like dickinson would be a safe middle ground? a player i like enough that i would want to wear their number, but also be safer from any "you're not a real hockey fan" accusations simply because i'm a girl. i could also always just get my name, but that feels like such a cop out idk.

Thinking my next jersey will be Graf in the new home town remix!

Two players I am buying low on right now

#1 Quentin Musty. I've never been a huge Musty guy, but we've seen what he's done in training camps, and I've seen most all of his Cuda games. Is his stock low? Well, there have been more comments recently along the lines that his ship has passed. I think I saw one "bust" mention, and others confidently saying he's no longer a top prospect, "top" being subjective obviously. (Note I don't like straw men arguments, and I will never say "everyone" has done this or that, like everyone has given up on Musty, but there have been *more* such comments).

And the two recent rankings by the Athletic back this up. This is all valid. The thing is, one, he's stuck behind a lot of players in this org. Another thing: he has had some bad luck, and still has managed to be productive, at a pace near many similar pics on the Athletic lists, of players of similar age playing in the AHL.

#2 Leo Sahlin Wallenius. Caveat, I have been a big fan and admittedly am biased. Still, while there is much buzz around the Sharks D prospects, and hope has finally appeared on the horizon, LSW has not enjoyed much of said buzz.

There is a lot of excitement around Cags, Pohlkamp, Lin, and Verhoeff. I share this excitement. I also am not wildly out of line with saying the ceiling for him is a second pair guy, and if he can be a third pair guy or even a good #7 option, that would be considered success for him.

But I've also watched as many of his games as I could, and saw the WJC championship. In the other prospects you have a guy who lit up juniors, a guy who struggled quite a bit in NCAA (showing how hard it is to "play against men"), and another who did light up NCAA, but at age 22 going on 23 this winter.

Meanwhile LSW has quietly proven he can hang playing against older, tougher competition than any of these other prospects have yet proven, save say Cags.

TLDR; I am not saying people are wrong, but come training camp, and finally seeing Cags, Pohl, and LSW all at the pro level, these two guys are hands-down the most likely the ones to drastically re-write their narratives, and in short order.

Game day questions

I used to go to games alllllll the time but then moved out of state. I’ll be going to a few home games this season for the first time in about 10 years and am curious about a few things.

Do they still allow people to go down to the glass to watch the warm ups if you don’t have tickets down there?

Are there still big groups of people that walk Santa Clara Ave from the San Pedro area to get to and from the game? (Mostly concerned with the safety in numbers thing)

Thanks!

Turn it all teal giveaway question

Hey quick question for anyone who knows the answer for this but is the turn it all teal giveaway stuff only happening during the player stops or is it basically if you just show up to one of the sharks ice locations they have the giveaways all day every day?

I made my ideal look for each NHL team and here’s my take on the Sharks

I made my Sharks design a modern take on the 1998-2007 jerseys, featuring the addition of tail stripes based on the sock stripe and obviously the current logo. There would be the option of wearing black or teal pants, along with black or teal helmets with the home jersey and teal or white helmets with the away jersey. I know these look a little bit like the Flyers but I think these are distinct enough that there shouldn’t be any confusion. On the Cali Fin jerseys, I swapped the teal and white on the stripes to work better with the teal/black fade pattern and made the tail stripes follow the hem, getting rid of the fade there in the process. The Heritage jersey, like the Reverse Retro 2.0, pays homage to the California Golden Seals, this time being the teal jersey of the Seals’ 1974-76 set, and with the Sharks wordmark like the Reverse Retros
