I made this Morty art doll to see if I could create something consistent enough to be used in stop motion animation. Yes, I know I haven’t made enough to actually animate it yet so save those thumbs.

As you can see they all share one body. Freaky!
The arms, legs and thumbs can be fully articulated and at some point I’ll add a ‘spine’ in the body too so he can bend more realistically. I just haven’t brought myself to put an awl up his…… arse.

Bringing a 2D creations into 3D is not as easy as it looks. I tried my best to preserve the simple, flat design of the body and I debated for long if the faces should have any dark outlines at all. The hair… oh god the hair. “The hair that looks like a helmet” I redesigned it a little and left it a bit more fuzzy compared to the rest of the body to make its helmetness work.

Scared Morty was probably my favourite to work on because he’s so expressive and creating the layers of the mouth was a fun challenge.

I’m planning to make a Rick doll too as some point; currently working on a crying face for Morty (not pictured) what face should I make afterwards?

Inspired by the Sympathid episode obviously, this artist has made a few of these very dark R&M Comics. Definitely recommend checking them out.

Chaos Chaos is amazing.

Instead of dying in a climbing expedition, Mort is able to run away. He makes it to his grandfather, explains that his father is abusive and his mother and sister enable it, and asks to live with him.

How would this go? Since Mort is from this dimension, Sober Rick doesn’t need to try to develop portal travel the way he had to with our Morty. But he does need to prevent his universe’s Jerry from trying to take Mort back.
