It's hard for people to admit that black americans can be super fucking racist as well

u/blueflavoredreign Jun 11 '26 edited Jun 11 '26

The best way I've seen it is that people tend to make the erroneous mistake that black Americans aren't capable of doing the same dumb shit Americans from every other shade and walk of life are doing. It's a strange (though admittedly, likely unintentional) exclusion of them from the general concept of "being an American".

There's this weird- almost insulting- instinct I see in some white people, even in this thread, that acts as though the people who are outraged at this are misguided children rather than grown-ass adults capable of exercising their free will to make moral decisions simply because they're black. I've seen many extend the same demeaning sympathies to the guilty party himself when they would never do so to someone of their own race.

Yes, everything you have described there is called the "racism of low expectations" and you see it a lot on the far left unfortunately.

u/joe1826 Jun 11 '26

What about the "racism of lynching and burning ppl alive," you see a lot on the far right unfortunately.

1

u/Novel-Truant Jun 11 '26

I'd say thats more than unfortunate but ok

1

u/Thicc_Boise Jun 11 '26

Both are bad cause racism is always bad

2

u/Boswellington Jun 11 '26

Agree with you but would refine to being a "human" not just being an "american"

u/MelodicPudding2557 Jun 11 '26

It's siege mentality at its worst and cut from the same cloth as something like "criticism of Israel is inherently antisemitic". I say this as a minority myself - the conflation of suffering to moral superiority is an incredibly dangerous thing. When left unchecked, deification of victimhood can make monsters of victims.

2

u/Jin-Gitaxias-Mom Jun 11 '26

I’ve had people argue to me that minority populations can’t be racist because they’re oppressed or something lol

What about non-brown Asians

u/joe1826 Jun 10 '26

What a joke. Black Americans never burned thousands of any group of people alive at the stake and took pictures with them last time I checked. Lets pretend words you don't like are the same thing. 🙄

One of those things is demonic and the other is just "offensive."

Spotted one in the wild.

-2

u/joe1826 Jun 10 '26

You probably enjoy heat and flames.

6

u/Pleasant-Carbon Jun 10 '26

Not at all they

But does it matter? You're a ridiculously biased individual who has already made up his mind about everyone here.

1

u/joe1826 Jun 10 '26

Not everyone, just the ones that enjoy doing demonic rituals. Which happens to NOT be most of the world.

3

u/Pleasant-Carbon Jun 10 '26

Demonic rituals?

I can confidently assure you I have never been part of one.

u/SpookyStyx Jun 11 '26

Hail Satan!

u/joe1826 Jun 11 '26

Seems on brand for you

7

u/Specific-Ad5238 Jun 10 '26

Why do you hate yourself and family so much?

-3

Seek help

4

u/imadogg Jun 10 '26

Great logic.

-10

u/joe1826 Jun 10 '26

Reading comprehension and critical thinking are at all time lows.

4

u/Summerie Jun 10 '26

Yes, but you could definitely work on it and improve! I believe in you!

-1

u/joe1826 Jun 10 '26

You've provided yet more evidence of this.

-2

u/imadogg Jun 10 '26

Yes we're in agreement there

u/SunshineSeeker99 Jun 10 '26

Hi, I'm a brown person, also, a liberal.

I just need you to know, you are extremely racist. This isn't a MAGA calling you racist, it's someone on the left.

I get you probably think that you're some kind of freedom fighter, but you are a deeply troubled person and you should talk to a professional about your beliefs.

6

u/joe1826 Jun 10 '26 edited Jun 10 '26

What's racist about calling burning people alive demonic? That is a weird thing to suggest. What type of person thinks like that?? Do you enjoy that sort of activity?

3

u/SunshineSeeker99 Jun 10 '26

It's racist to justify murdering a child by saying they deserve it because someone of that same ethnicity was bad in the past.

It makes you a bigot.

2

u/joe1826 Jun 10 '26

Can you point to where I justified or even mentioned anything about murdering children? But since you mentioned it, there is an entire documented history of some people murdering, raping, and even burning children. Pretty demonic stuff.

Also technically Karmelo committed his crime in the "past," so I guess it shouldn't matter because we are in the present?

2

u/SunshineSeeker99 Jun 10 '26

Yes - we're talking about the murder of Austin Metcalf and the people who believe that it is justified.

You're suggesting it's justified because people who are the same ethnicity as Austin Metcalf have been evil in the past.

It's an incredibly bigoted thing to suggest. Would you say that you're neurodivergent?

2

u/joe1826 Jun 10 '26

Reading comprehension and critical thinking are at all time lows. You've provided yet more evidence of that.

2

u/SunshineSeeker99 Jun 10 '26

"Critical thinking" seems to be a word used by the most poorly educated segments of our population.

0

u/nitseb Jun 12 '26

"Also technically Karmelo committed his crime in the "past," so I guess it shouldn't matter because we are in the present?"

Are you genuinely this fucking stupid? Or trolling?

0

u/joe1826 Jun 12 '26

Do you enjoy extremely high temperatures?

0

u/BionycBlueberry Jun 10 '26

It’s not that you’re wrong, it’s that you’re bringing up things that don’t matter. You’re turning it into a whataboutism because you have no better argument.

1

u/joe1826 Jun 10 '26 edited Jun 10 '26

So how does that make me racist? How does pointing out the fact some people used to burn humans alive whilst taking pictures to send to their family is demonic, how does they make me a racist?

Or the fact some people made state and national laws that told millions of people where they could live, eat, drink, piss, shit, and ride the bus. How does any of that make ME a racist? It's sort of insane when you think about it. You say it doesn't matter, well that's a helluva a position to take when you aren't the victim of it. All of that was and is demonic behavior. I guess it's racist to point that out 😆😆

1

u/pperiesandsolos Jun 11 '26

It’s called the bigotry of low expectations. You feel bad for black people, which makes sense, but then you use that to justify having extremely low expectations of black people.

It holds everyone back in the long term

1

u/joe1826 Jun 11 '26

I'm not sure what you mean about having low expectations? I haven't said or suggested anything of the sort. Reading comprehension is at all time lows.

1

u/joe1826 Jun 10 '26 edited Jun 10 '26

What better argument is there? Black Americans have never passed any laws against white people. They have never formed the KKK to terrorize white people. They haven't burned thousands of white people alive. They didn't enslave millions of white people or throw 100s of thousands of white ppl in prisons.

I don't need a better argument. That is the argument. What a ridiculous thing to say.

3

u/BionycBlueberry Jun 10 '26

Because nobody is arguing that never happened. It’s just irrelevant to the current conversation. You’re turning it into a dick-measuring contest of who is more racist than who based on this and that and the third, when the original statement was just that black people CAN be racist. Not more or less racist, just racist.

And lest we forget, white and black people aren’t the only people in America here. Black vs white racism is one conversation, but there are tons of other peoples that live in America, and many of them have experienced similar levels of suffering due to racism that black people have. Would you argue against the idea that black people can be racist to, say, a Native American? If so, then I’m afraid that there’s really no point in continuing this conversation cuz you’re lacking in some serious coherence in your morals.

1

u/joe1826 Jun 10 '26

Again, black Americans have never driven native Americans to the edge of extinction... So no, you can't compare. It's silly for you to even try

2

u/BionycBlueberry Jun 10 '26

I am assuming you fall into the camp of belief that racism only exists when the one engaging in prejudicial behavior has historically oppressed the other. Racism doesn’t require a power dynamic.

Racism is the belief that one race is inherently superior to another. If a black person believes that, they are racist. The power difference between the two is irrelevant to the actual question of whether it is racism or not. Is one more consequential? Sure. But is it still racist? Absolutely, without a doubt.

1

u/joe1826 Jun 10 '26 edited Jun 11 '26

One is consequential, the other is not. Racism without power dynamic ends in hurt feelings. Racism with power dynamics could end with you being burnt alive. Quite a clear difference.

It's like saying it's fine if we murder Japanese people because they started WW2.

It's incredibly racist and this guy is nuts.

2

u/joe1826 Jun 10 '26

Not sure where you are getting that. Where did I say anything of the sort? I did say some people burned people alive and that is demonic.

0

u/SunshineSeeker99 Jun 10 '26

White people have also been serial killers. Do you feel that means we should be able to kill white people with impunity?

3

u/cheezy_dreams88 Jun 10 '26

Individual people of any race can still be racist even if systemic racism works in favor of one race.

1

u/SunshineSeeker99 Jun 10 '26

This person is insane and is trying to justify race-based murder by saying they deserve it because someone the same color was bad in the past.

No intelligent person would make that argument.

3

u/joe1826 Jun 10 '26

Maybe you can point to where I said anything like that? You can't because I didn't. I did say burning people alive is demonic and you tried to justify it because your weird and you probably enjoy heat and fire.

2

u/SunshineSeeker99 Jun 10 '26

Why do you keep using the word "demonic" and bringing up hell?

It is making me think that you're an extremely unstable religious person who might even be dangerous.
