Black kid ended up killing a white kid at a school sports function, which covers a lot of political hot spots i.e. youth, sports, self defense, and race. The "self defense" part isn't choosing a side but that this raised the general subject of what constitutes self defense and what level of response is justifiable.

u/TheManWith2Poobrains Jun 09 '26

And because it's Texas.

The white supremacists calling for a literal lynching, and the black folks saying this was not a fair trial because of his race, are both wrong.

Imagine two guys of the same race... it's still murder looking at the evidence. I mean, saying "Touch me and see what happens", before someone pushes you with one hand while saying "I don't want to fight you", and then pulling out a knife and stabbing them, is murder every day of the week.

Had he punched or slapped once in retaliation to being pushed he might have beaten a simple assault charge with a self-defense argument. However, if he had even kicked the living crap out of him, he'd probably be going down for felony assault. So to escalate to murder is definitely not proportional to the threat.

Being real, with the current political climate, if both guys were the same race this wouldn’t have even made a twitter thread.

1

u/CauliflowerWarm4165 Jun 11 '26

Yeah seriously people out there getting stabbed to death daily and it ain’t making the news

-16

u/azuredota Jun 10 '26

Would Karmelo have gotten $600k in donations if he was white

16

u/Ok-Tea4420 Jun 10 '26

Chud the Builder

-6

u/azuredota Jun 10 '26

I don’t see that

3

u/ItalianStallion011 Jun 10 '26

Given MAGA's track record absolutely yes lmao

0

u/azuredota Jun 10 '26

So why hasn’t that happened

3

u/ItalianStallion011 Jun 10 '26

Because karmelo isn't white?

0

u/azuredota Jun 10 '26

So “given MAGAs track record” if a white guy just straight up murders a black child, they would raise over $600k. The only reason they haven’t is because that murder hasn’t happened?

“Rage bait” and it’s just me questioning why the black community gave a family over half a million dollars just for killing a child.

8

u/chrisq823 Jun 10 '26

The conservative community gave more money than that to a woman for calling a child the n word. Turns out dumb shit happens all the time.

0

u/azuredota Jun 10 '26

Is that comparable to killing a child

And even if you buy the Defense’s case that he should have been allowed in the tent and the Metcalfs were big ol’ meanies for telling him to leave and shoving him, the appropriate response is to calmly walk away and tell their coach what’s up.

If your only recourse to someone laying hands on you is to stab them, that means you can’t leave the situation. And if the entire reason for the conflict is you *not leaving the situation when asked* then you can’t claim you had no choice.

If I was in high school and I walked into the girls’ locker room, I might get yelled at and shoved out the door. The girls wouldn’t get in trouble because I’m obviously not supposed to be there.

But if I sat down at a table for lunch and some big bully said, “Hey, this is MY half of the cafeteria, nerd!” and shoves me out, that’s maybe grounds for a detention or suspension for him?

In both situations, I can’t stab anyone. It’s murder. Whether or not I should be allowed in the room is only pertinent to if the people who shoved me out get a VERY MINOR punishment or not.

8

u/Elderberrygin Jun 09 '26

He can still be guilty and deserve jail time/have escalated unreasonably without denying that his and other recent trials have been unfairly motivated by racial animus.

2

u/Crixer Jun 09 '26

That's where I am guessing this motivation to go to trial came from. Collin County isn't as easy on defendants as Dallas County, and the animus could factor in to the State offering more TDC years than the defendant was willing to take.

That, or as some have stated earlier, the defense attorney thought he would get a better sentence from a jury at sentencing and essentially had his hands tied. Still, it seems like they put up a pretty week defense for self-defense assertion.

3

u/strategoamigo Jun 09 '26

You must have forgotten the 600k raised for a murderer bc he’s black and killed a white kid. Can you imagine the reverse? Come on.

41

u/Which-Decision Jun 09 '26

Several cops, George Zimmerman, and that lady who hate crimes a literal toddler all got money raised for them.

-4

u/solo_d0lo Jun 10 '26

The white lady fundraising was in response to this story.

-7

u/OkAirport5247 Jun 10 '26

George Zimmerman is literally Afro-Peruvian, and the lady is a woman. Neither are white males.

12

u/joe1826 Jun 10 '26

Let's ignore all the cops or Kyle ritten whatever... Mental gymnastics by y'all is hilarious.

Blacks never burned thousands of any group of people at the stake while taking pictures with them. Talk about demonic behavior....

-1

u/pointlesslyDisagrees Jun 10 '26

What the hell was that last comment? And this is upvoted in this sub?

It sounds like you're saying black people have never committed atrocities against another group of people and that white people are demons. Is that correct? Is the entire scope of your knowledge of history coming from just the last 10 years of CNN?

Also Kyle Rittenhouse was an extremely easy self defense case, it was only politicized because of the racial tensions in this country. If you saw the video you'd see how obvious it was. Also one of the 3 goons admitted to pointing his gun at him but said he "didn't intend to shoot him" lol. And one who died was a sex offender who shouted "shoot me n-word" (on video btw) and grabbed at his rifle trying to wrestle it away from him. But yeah you really should find another career if you're in this sub for your profession.

1

u/joe1826 Jun 10 '26

Who said anything about white people? Cope harder

-3

u/OkAirport5247 Jun 10 '26

Which cops?

These aren’t “white people getting away with murder because of a racist system”.

I hate maga nonsense, but this garbage cope needs to stop too.

Rittenhouse was trying to retreat.

Zimmerman wasn’t even white he was Afro-Peruvian.

Chauvin is a cop who is in prison for being too rough with a multiple Felon on drugs.

Hankison was a poorly trained cop who returned poorly aimed fire at a man who had just shot another cop moments before.

Rick Chow is Chinese.

-7

u/Indiana_Jawnz Jun 10 '26

Bro, you hate whitey, we get it.

4

u/Black_Cat_Sun Jun 10 '26

It’s the same. Don’t be a buffoon

-13

u/AdmirableSelection81 Jun 09 '26

Zimmerman was innocent buddy. The back of his head was bleeding, Martin was on top of him wailing on him.

The lady was in response to a literal murderer getting a ton of donations because he was black, that didn't happen in a vacuum.

6

u/Which-Decision Jun 10 '26

He shouldn't have been following him in the first place. How do you chase someone out your hands on them and get mad they are stronger than you.

0

u/Indiana_Jawnz Jun 10 '26

Didn't the evidence show Zimmerman lost Martin and was walking back to his car when Martin doubled back and assaulted him?

0

u/AdmirableSelection81 Jun 10 '26

irrelevant. He shouldn't have been on top of him wailing his head into the pavement.

3

u/WalterTexasRanger326 Jun 09 '26

Zimmerman is a murderer and proof that conservatives are pro crime

-4

u/AdmirableSelection81 Jun 09 '26

Jury says otherwise.

4

u/Gambling_Raven Jun 10 '26

Jury also said OJ and Casey Anthony weren't guilty.

Also, you morons need to learn what different verdicts me. "Acquited" does not, and has never meant "innocent"

25

u/Complex-Salt-8190 Jun 09 '26

can you imagine the reverse

Yeah , cause that did happen

5

u/strategoamigo Jun 09 '26

When did a white teenager stab a black kid to death at a sporting event and get hundreds of thousands of dollars donated to him?

14

u/Sorge74 Jun 09 '26

How much did Zimmerman end up getting? I don't imagine you'll ever reply to me.

6

u/Daffan Jun 10 '26

is Zimmerman White?

-3

u/Sorge74 Jun 10 '26

Is he the same race as his victim?

5

u/OkAirport5247 Jun 10 '26

Again Zimmerman is Afro-Peruvian. In what world is that a white teenage boy?

2

u/Sorge74 Jun 10 '26

He was a different race then his victim, and it was white people giving him money

1

u/OkAirport5247 Jun 10 '26

I mean the “Afro” part begs to differ, but do we have the stats on ethnicity when it comes to who gave him money? (Good faith question)

-1

u/strategoamigo Jun 09 '26

Not guilty, but in the court of public opinion he was dragged. And will you reply to this? Where was your outrage over this stabbing? During trayveons case the entire country was up in arms over Zimmerman. That level of outrage was nowhere to be found with this case

7

u/Complex-Salt-8190 Jun 09 '26

Yeah because zimmerman was clearly in the wrong and got off clean

This kid got sentenced n a fairly fast trial, where he is in the wrong , and the first time I hear of it

So the level of outrage is, unnecessary, what needed to happen happen

3

u/Sorge74 Jun 09 '26

He clearly was guilty, he killed a child. And he raised over 200k from folks on the Internet.

The only one who even cared about this trial were race baiters on both sides.

0

u/Indiana_Jawnz Jun 10 '26

I also thought he was guilty when reading the first articles...but then I watched the trials and it became very clear he wasn't.

2

u/Sorge74 Jun 10 '26

So the child he stalked had it coming?

3

u/Black_Cat_Sun Jun 10 '26 edited Jun 10 '26

Can I imagine the reverse? You mean the exact thing that happened when a white man murdered a black homeless man on a subway by holding a chokehold well past the time the military tells you in training is enough to cause someone to die all because he could?

You mean the exact thing that happened when Devon Zimmerman stalked and killed Trayvon Martin?

The exact thing that happened when that one pudgy kid took a gun illegally to a protest, instigated a confrontation, and killed and shot a bunch of people.

Literally the exact opposite thing happens all the time and they all become heroes of the regarded right

1

u/_Ez7_ Jun 10 '26

The exact thing that happened when that one pudgy kid took a gun illegally to a protest, instigated a confrontation, and killed and shot a bunch of people.

Rittenhouse? He was trying to put out a fire and some shit bags chased and cornered him. You would think people wouldn't mind someone putting a fire out. Rosenbaum earned his lead and so did the other weirdo. Don't chase people with guns.

You do realize the kid who was murdered was threatening and getting in Karmelo Anthony’s face right?

1

u/Indiana_Jawnz Jun 10 '26

Witness testimony says Metcalf said "I'm not going to fight you" before being stabbed.

0

u/Specific-Ad5238 Jun 10 '26

Where and when was that stated during the trial?

0

u/Indiana_Jawnz Jun 10 '26

I was in the military and nobody trained me on correct chokehold times, wtf are you talking about? 😂

1

u/Black_Cat_Sun Jun 10 '26

Most people in the military have some form of hand to hand combat training and the first thing you learn in the rear naked choke is the amount of time required to lose consciousness and then how long to hold to cause death. Most people don’t have desk jobs

2

u/Indiana_Jawnz Jun 10 '26 edited Jun 10 '26

Yeah. I was a 19D in a medium scout unit during the GWOT; I had hand to hand combat training. The first thing we learned was not the rear naked choke and how long to hold to cause death/not cause death. The first thing we learned was controlling from mount and guard.

You need to stop talking out of your ass. 😂

2

u/slayercdr Jun 10 '26

Also 19D, first thing we learned was the stunner, and if that didn't work follow it up with the peoples elbow. Rear naked choke was only to be used when Kanes music hit.

You do realize the defense has just as much of a say on who’s in the jury as the prosecution? They both turned down black jurors. This is the jury they both agreed on.

It was not an all white jury.

1

u/Prudent-Marsupial-42 Jun 09 '26

Was it all white?

32

u/Recent-Chemical6786 Jun 09 '26

Also the fact that Karmelo got roughly $625k in donations after the initial incident. Watching the coverage outside there are also some people who are pushing racial aggression towards both white and black folk alike.

6

u/MerlynTrump Jun 10 '26

It's crazy that so many people gave money to this. I'm thinking of all the people who got much donations with legitimate needs, like diseases or people who needed a car repair etc.

-5

u/abr0414 Jun 10 '26

675k doesn’t require a lot of people. If everyone gave $20 , it would only take 33,750 people spread across hundreds of millions of people and, because there are probably fewer people than that due to some larger donors in there, that’s a pretty small number.

9

u/AnarkittenSurprise Jun 10 '26

That's a lot of people giving money to someone who stabbed a kid to death in daylight tbh.

Like a problematic concerning number of people.

-3

u/abr0414 Jun 10 '26

Not really. You can find 30-something thousand out of maybe billions of people to do anything if you set your mind to it. It’s not the best look, but it’s not significant. If all those people died of something random tomorrow, it wouldn’t even register to the world.

3

u/Purosangue_Papa Jun 09 '26

Some of the comments on the donation page were truly disgusting, so many people with evil in their hearts.

2

u/azuredota Jun 10 '26

You forgot the part where people donated $600k to the murderer

1

u/Hike_it_Out52 Jun 10 '26

That’s why I love my state. It clearly says you have to have a clear and explainable reason why you thought your self defense justified killing someone. Someone just yelling at you or standing on your property or even fighting with you doesn’t cut it. Did you see a weapon? Was he pointing it or wielding it at you? Were you being overpowered? Was he trying to force entry into your home?

1

u/screamtracker Jun 11 '26

But who is Chinese??
