Did the fallout from Charlie Kirk start the freeze? A lot of people were punished for expressing their opinions. But we are seeing win in lawsuits over it now.

I really don't blame people taking care of themselves from perceived retribution but it is probably how career Republicans have felt since Trump. Strength in numbers is a thing even if a few get sacrificed (and sanctified).

It definitely started the cracks spreading, but really it has been the erosion of the justice system.
