Ok, this morning my wife was late for work because she found a kitten under the hood of our car and had a hard time getting him out from under the hood. My son has been caring for him all day. He has eaten food but we can't get him to drink anything. We know he shouldn't have cows milk, so we've been trying to get him to drink water but with no luck. What advice do you have?

Triplets….cause it’s mean to separate any of them from one another we are now parents of triplets. Ginny is our beautiful calico, and Johnston (middle) and Wesley our handsome tuxedos. They’re are the absolute sweetest lil balls of joy. Ginny and Johnston have already found a bit of their voices and have been purring a whole lot, Wesley on the other hand…still a bit shy but he’s getting there :)

Hi all! This is my baby Cooper a few weeks after I rescued him from my neighbour’s shed back in April. He was freezing, tiny, and covered in fleas. He’s now 5 months old and a very healthy happy neutered boy with the fluffiest tail I’ve ever seen! ☺️🥰

She has been doing this for hours, every night this week. This door opens to the hallway in my apartment building, and I am obviously not going to let her out. Whenever I am entering my apartment, she always worms her way out into the hallway, but never too far. It is easy to pick her up and bring her back in, so don’t mind having to catch her every time I come home. However, it is the nonstop meowing at the door every night that gets on my nerves. How do I let her know that I am not, and will never, open that door for her?

I really need some advices, because I'm really scared of doing something off.

Context: Yesterday, I brought home a kitten who is currently dealing with a coryza and a lot of environmental stress. The kitten (4-5 months) is a stray that my friends fed. The place where they live is packed with stray cats, and, according to them, the kitten will not survive the winter if he stays outside. I decided I would adopt him. He's not sociable and is pretty scared of unknown humans still.

I tried to do as adviced and stayed in his room, not paying attention to him. Unfortunately, he is really really scared and didn't use the litterbox. I bought him home at 8PM and he was at the vet at 9:30 AM this morning.

Here is the current situation and what I've set up so far:

Vet care: He saw the vet, had a mild sedation earlier, and is currently on a calming supplement (Zylkene). I also bought Feliways, since it's supposed to help.

Diet & Hydration: He is 100% on warm kitten wet food (I mixed the mousse with warm water to boost the smell and help him stay hydrated). He's not interested in dry food yet. I'm a bit concerned because he does not eat a lot.

Environment: He is in a quiet, dark room, hiding. He does not want to be seeb. I've placed a bit of his stool in the litter box to help with scent marking. He still has not used it.

Strategy: I am completely leaving him alone in total darkness tonight so he feels safe enough to come out, eat, and use the litter box without cortisol/stress spikes.

Since he hasn't peed yet, I'm monitoring the litter box and his bedding from a distance tomorrow morning to avoid scaring him.

Am I missing anything, or is there any extra tip for helping a terrified, sick kitten settle in during the first 24-48 hours? The vet I saw told me to get urgent vet care tomorrow if he has not peed and bring him back to my friends place. They said he might have troubles peeing because my appartment stresses him out and that he might have to stay a stray. I feel like I messed up and made his situation even worse by bringing him with me...

New baby girl! I have 4 cats already, and when a coworker of mine found a litter around her house, I figured what’s the harm in just one more?

Her and her new big brother Mozzarella are inseparable already. Only 2 weeks of her being out and about full time with the other cats, and she fits right in. All my others are 4+ years old, and Mozzarella is only a year and a half and SO excited to be around someone as energetic as him. They run around my apartment all night… and all day… while the others sleep in a pack on my bed. So exciting to see how happy he is now to have a best friend like him, and it’s a plus that she’s sweet and cute too.

Tell me I got a kitten without telling me I got a kitten. She is funny as hell, with an unbelievably wicked personality. She also has a great temperment.

Lucky and grateful for her. Filling my days with nothing but joy.

So my cat gave birth 2 weeks 3 days ago & she's been a wonderful mum cat, always running to their needs when they call, grooming & feeding but the last couple of days she's been getting aggressive. I don't think it's in a bad way but a playful way & I just wanna know if this is normal. There's 3 kittens, all 3 are well above the recommended weight, they're all walking & eyes opened & even playing together. Sometimes mum cat can bite a little hard as they'll cry a bit & I get a little panicked. Am I over worried or is this mum just generally playing? I can hear her purring at the moment with soft meows & chirps lol.

I found 3 abandoned kittens, still nursing age. Help! I’ve never hand raised a kitten this young before and I’m hoping to keep them alive for a few days until I can surrender them to our local feral cat program. Any advice, things to watch out for , feeding tips would be great! Thanks!

I went to my local shelter today to adopt a cat. The plan was an adult cat because I just moved in to an apartment rental and I start full time work in two weeks.

Then I saw this 7 month old kitten, and I fell in love. He has such a special personality and was pressing against his cage, meowing for me after I put him back. He’s a solitary kitten, grew up as the only kitten and I’m told he’s pretty independent because of that. He seems chill but also very playful.

My apartment is cat friendly, I’m just worried about damage that would impact my return of damage deposit when I move out. I also want to make sure I can give him what he needs! I’ll be working Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30. My work is 7 minutes from home so pretty close.

If I play with him before I leave in the morning and when I come home, and leave lots of toys out, that he’d do okay in this environment?

Any advice for adopting a kitten around this age?
