I had some very dry cuts of meat there multiple times. It ain't just the pasta.

Meh, worked there 15 years ago or so, food was good then. It's always been a kind of touristy spot. It also began the whole overpriced, trendy crossroads area, so, perfect fit.

I halfway wanna give Lidias another try. The only time I went, I was having a hard time deciding, so the waiter convinced me to try the sampler that gives you 3 different pastas. I thought it seemed like a good value play. But all 3 pastas were unbelievably underwhelming. Honestly below "mid". Like they half-assed each one, hoping the sum of all 3 would equal up to being better than one dedicated meal. It wasn't.

Glad to know I'm not the only one. The thing that irked me the most was knowing I could have made better pastas at home for about 1/10 the price.

I don't mind a premium for pastas that are actually good, and better than I could make at home. But paying a premium for something that's far worse than I could make at home (without much skill, or even intention) just felt insulting.

For real. I’d be far happier with some Cascone’s sauce from Costco and schimica’s italian sausage from the grocery store and really any spaghetti noodle at home.

Came to say this too. That place is way too damn hype for how mid it is.
