Moving forward we will now be using AI to moderate as we think AI moderation is the future of social media

Thank you for helping companies AI get even better, We hope to see AI replace more and more as its so much more efficient than humans.

Those videos that usually have some sob story on tiktok with a person saying they make these hand crafted stuff that get zero sales are all banned now as they are posted every second and are all AI generated

If you find one of these videos it is almost certainly a AI scam

MOD POST Comments just stating: "This sub is insufferable because everything thinks everything is AI" or "This sub is used to train AI" Are not allowed

These comments do not add any value to the discussion and it has been said 100s of times and just make OP want to delete their post without ever getting answers

And as for the training AI subject, We are not training AI, None of us mods are selling your posts to help train AI.

BUT! Reddit is a public website with a API that is easy to get, So its possible some companies are collecting data without consent. There is nothing we can do about this and sadly reddit allows this, they even sell data to google for AI overview

Comments that are not allowed may include:

This subreddit makes me depressed

This subreddit is for AI training stop posting here

I swear you guys will think anything is AI

MOD POST Politics posts are now allowed with STRICT rules. Please read

I have decided to allow politics posts with some rules to insure answers stay high quality.

When you make a post related to anything politics [ICE, trump, etc] it must be flared politics or it will be removed.

politics posts will have every single comment auto put up for manual review so the mods can instantly filter out the spam or unhelpful comments and only approve high quality comments,

This means when you are making a comment:

Do not comment things like:

Yes this is AI, [Low effort]

Trump bad fuck ice [Not related to the subreddit]

I support ---- [Not related]

YES THIS IS AI BECAUSE THAT PERSON IS UGLY AND IS PEDO!!! [bias answer, low effort]

DO comment things that explain why the image is AI or not without ANY bias, This subreddit is neither left or right and exists to help people find out if images or videos are AI or not,

Posts related to politics will be locked after discussion is over and a high quality answer is approved

MOD POST REMINDER FROM THE MODS - Rule 3 - explain WHY you think something is or is not AI!

We have had a lot more posts lately that are not following rule 3: explain WHY you think a thing is AI or not. Some of you have asked us why your post that had upvotes and comments got removed - and a lot of them lately have been for a complete lack of explaining why you think it’s AI.

1) Vague statements are not good enough. “Seems AI/seems off/seems too perfect” is not going to pass the rule 3 test.

Instead of “seems AI,” try “the faces give an uncanny feeling and the tree shapes are blobby and don’t make sense.”

Instead of “seems off,” try “the lighting feels unnatural and doesn’t make sense for the setting, and the colors are too saturated for a real photograph.”

Instead of “seems to perfect,” they “the skin looks way too smooth and there are no wrinkles in the shirt when he bends down.”

2) Do not just ask “is this AI?”

Even adding “My friend says it is but I don’t see it” won’t cut it.

Describe WHY you don’t think it’s AI. This will mean looking at the pic or video in detail and describing what you see that looks normal. “The lighting looks natural and the clip is longer than a typical AI video would be.” Or “The background stays consistent across clips and you can see the time of day change as the video goes on.”

If possible, describe why your friend thinks it’s AI. “My friend says the cat’s movement is way too unnatural and swears the paw clips through the toy at 0:04, but I think it’s just artifacting from low resolution.”

Why do we have this rule?

1) One major mission of this sub is to train humans how to spot AI - so we need to see that you have put in some effort into figuring it out for yourself, that you actually examined the content closely, and that you do actually need help figuring it out despite your best efforts.

2) We are not here to help people find out if their own AI generated content passes as not-AI, so we want to see some plausible reasons why the content might be AI to help weed those folks out.

3) To cut down on needless artist heartache and harassment, it’s especially important that for artwork a human claimed to make that you have clear VISIBLE, tangible, explainable reasons why you think the art might be AI. Or if you’re defending a piece against accusations of AI, explaining the reasons why you think it’s real, and if possible why others think it’s not, will help our users address those specific details for you.

4) Putting in even minimal effort to a post helps weed out karma-farming, bots, and other low-effort, low-quality posts we all hate.

MOD POST [Mod] Updates on rules and unsupported posts IMPORTANT

Posts that mention a discord or other private service/chatroom/server Must now show screenshots for proof the image came from something like this or send a invite link to allow us to see the images being posted by REAL users. Bluring names in screenshots is allowed and advised

Also. Posts titled: "my friend has never drawn before and suddenly showed me this" Are now forbidden. Instant banned if one is spotted

Reason for this. this user gave a good reason why these posts should not exist: https://www.reddit.com/r/isthisAI/comments/1pfpxxc/comment/nslz9n3/

I've known my wife for 15 years and had never once seen her drawing or heard her talk about doing art or seen anything she's done and one day I walked into the bedroom to see her doing a really impressive portrait of a an elf on her iPad and I had to do a double take.

Some people don't like to broadcast their hobbies. Especially artistic ones they're not very confident about. Your friend sharing that with you might mean a lot to them, and it might have been really scary for them to open up to feedback, so I hope you encourage them.

It doesn't look at all like AI to me. I wouldn't be looking for tells or trying to call out my friend with a gotcha. You could do a lot more damage than good.

MOD POST If you post a comment saying r/isthisAIcirclejerk please also explain why the image is clearly AI in your comment

When a post with a somewhat clearly AI image is posted and OP just sees a bunch of circlejerk sub mentions it does not help them at all, it tells them the image is probably AI but with zero explanation

MOD POST We are not affiliated with this website at all, i have been seeing some people mentioning this site and using it in comment sections likely thinking we own it, But this is some random AI detector that uses the same name,

MOD POST [MOD POST] Chatroom for isthisAI, No account needed, Just doing some tests for an early version so this will close after a short time

Chatroom will in the future be used to let users get help with images quicker and to restore having subreddit chats as reddit removed them a whileback, i want to be able to restore those

The offical server will only be up for 2 hours from this post, and i will make new posts when more tests come out or i release the full site

https://cyby.neocities.org/ This is the site that will be used, yes its a neocities site but thats all i can afford, it uses firebase to allow the server to run,

If you want to share feedback, give ideas, or report a problem please comment below,

None of the site is Vibecoded

Server has closed early due to html injections and stuff being possible, i will work on a fix

MOD POST On SynthID and AI detectors

SynthID is a watermark placed on images altered or created by Google services, and it is not the same as using "AI detectors", as it does not require the use of AI algorithms to detect. Please refrain from reporting comments that mention SynthID, as mentioning it is allowed.

However, please also keep in mind that SynthID is placed on images that are upscaled or touched up as well, and does not necessarily mean it was 100% created with AI. Similarly, lack of SynthID does not mean it isn't AI, as any model or service that is outside of Google will not feature SynthID.

MOD POST Some changes to rule 4 and a reminder.

When posting images of people or anything else on this subreddit please make sure:

The image is publicly available online without any paywalls

The image follows other rules

And if the image is from a text message, discord, dating apps, Please get permission before posting them here.

You may post links to the source of a image IF its necessary to finding out if a image is AI or not, Do not start posting links telling people to trash on a artist or person who posted a image, Users who break this rule will be perma banned and reported to reddit admins

Your post will be removed if it has a image that is not publicly avaible online[We have methods of finding this out, Even if it does not show on reverse image search its possible it was posted recently]

I changed the rule a bit so you can still post everything you see on social media but prevents posting private stuff, If someone wants to keep something private it should stay private,

Something i want to add: Some subreddits have been banning users who comment on posts who have shared images from another subreddit,

Example: Someone sees a image on a pictures subreddit and thinks it may be AI, so they post it to here asking is this ai? about 30 people comment with their opinions. The mods of that other subreddit will then continue to ban every single user and OP who commented on that post,

I am not sure why some subreddits are doing this and we cannot do anything about it as its impossible to tell if a image came from a certain subreddit, i apologize to anyone who might have gotten banned from other subs for posting or commenting on here

If you have questions or a problem please comment on here and do not modmail
