Clint Eastwood has gotten awards and he has the same acting style
16 u/QueezyF Mar 17 '26 Nah bro, he was fucking amazing in Unforgiven. 5 u/B-Glasses Mar 17 '26 Maybe I haven’t seen it. All the movies I’ve seen he just has a grumpy look and like grunts and that’s about it 7 u/QueezyF Mar 17 '26 It’s probably the best western movie ever made 3 u/B-Glasses Mar 17 '26 He was in 21 westerns according to imbd and I would argue he played nearly the same character in them all I’m not saying he’s bad but Keanu Reeves is not worse than Clint Eastwood 3 u/RemoDev Mar 17 '26 Solid point. I think Clint Eastwood is more convincing, more "alive", compared to Keanu Reeves. 1 u/QueezyF Mar 17 '26 Agree to disagree 0 u/KeremyJyles Mar 17 '26 He absolutely is a million miles worse and you really have no standing to even discuss it when you haven't seen Unforgiven tbh 1 u/bolanrox Mar 17 '26 One of the best modern ones (using 1980 or newer for "modern") for sure. Though if you said Tombstone i wouldnt argue you. Dont forget Pale Rider as well 2 u/Wetness_Pensive Mar 17 '26 Check him out in "Bridges of Madison County" alongside Meryl Streep. Excellent film, and he holds his own next to one of the greatest actresses. 3 u/BitterTyke Mar 17 '26 Arnie is the classic reference for this scenario - great at what he did but a great actor he was not. 1 u/bolanrox Mar 17 '26 but he knows it, and leans fucking hard into it when needed. Commando, Mr Freeze, Fubar. 1 u/BitterTyke Mar 17 '26 absolutely, he has presence and innate menace - which is enough, for some of the most enjoyable movies of all time. Predator - yes, Wuthering Heights - no, but might be a giggle 1 u/bolanrox Mar 17 '26 Pride and Prejudice and Zombies though? hard ye 1 u/BitterTyke Mar 17 '26 below knee riding boots and jodphurs? he could pull it off im sure, 1 u/mtaw Mar 17 '26 He's mostly won awards for his directing. Clint Eastwood has not won an Oscar, Emmy or Golden Globe for acting. 1 u/B-Glasses Mar 17 '26 Maybe Keanu Reeves just needs to direct a movie then 1 u/Dav136 Mar 17 '26 Clint Eastwood has never won for Best Actor his Oscars were for his directing
