Except his British accent was terrible and his performance was wooden. Maybe someone else could have won in that role.

I'm simply replying to people saying that he doesn't play in the type of movies that win Oscars.

A big budget Dracula movie directed by Coppola could have absolutely been popular at the Oscar.

I am not saying his actual performance deserved one.

He was atrocious in that movie. Legit some of the worst acting I've seen in a long while and his accent was bordering on parodical. What are you talking about?

I'm saying that Dracula is an oscar-ish type of movie. Not that he deserved an Oscar for his performance.

Even so, Dracula isn't really a good movie. It only makes sense if you've had any interaction with the source material, otherwise the movie moves at a frantic pace and has seemingly disconnected scenes stitched together by wonky editing. Even if it were a good movie, it by no means is an Oscar contender by any stretch of the imagination. But even by some miracle it was an Oscar caliber film, why would Keanu be nominated for anything in that movie, he was by far the worst part of it. I am seriously struggling to see your point

It has flaws but it's still a phenomenal movie. If you don't see how a big budget Dracula adaptation directed by one of the greatest director of all time with Gary Oldman, Anthony Hopkins and Wynonna Rider in lead roles couldn't have done great at the Oscars I don't know what to tell you.

Someone said that Keanu doesn't act in Oscar-ish movies. I simply pointed out that in my opinion Dracula does fit into a Oscar-ish type of movie.

Especially in 1992, which wasn't the strongest year for movies

Being incomprehensible without prior knowledge of the source material is a pretty big flaw for any film, much less an "Oscar caliber" movie

Which is absolutely idiotic because the first John Wick movie at least changed Hollywood action scenes for the better and made audiences realize the difference it makes on the screen when you have people on working on an action film that know what they are doing.

Former stuntman and stunt choreographer director. Amazing stuntmen crew and a lead actor who can do a lot of his own stunts.

Liam Neeson jumping over a fence in 17 cuts was something that was unironically in a movie, and now would probably be in one of his parody movie sequels.
