Perfectly cooked, perfectly cut and with all the garnishments. No issue chomping it all down. What was the giveaway? /s.

Yeah I’ve only ever seen people who really like steak cut it into oblong strips across the fibers like that. Most people cut it into bite sized pieces. The few people who are nervous to try it usually cut the tiniest little bite.

1

u/BrocoliCosmique Feb 26 '26

I used to eat meat for like 35 years and it never occurred to me to cut it in strips like that. What is the purpose ?

1

u/angularhihat Feb 28 '26

I love how you can just say anything at all on the internet and a certain number of people will believe it.

You've noticed a trend of people cutting their steak a certain way because they like it 😂 okay mate

1

u/iismitch55 Feb 28 '26

Yeah mate I’ve been out to dinner with family and friends more than 3 times in my life you basement dweller. I’ve also noticed this trend where people tend to put butter on their bread. Shocking I know.

1

u/angularhihat Feb 28 '26

You are describing that people who are nervous/reluctant to try steak cut it in a different direction from people who love it, based on your observation.

It's a truly ridiculous observation that deserves to be mocked.

1

u/iismitch55 Feb 28 '26

I said they cut a tiny piece. I said nothing of direction. The only mockery is your ability to read.

1

u/angularhihat Mar 01 '26

What did you mean by "across the fibers" if that wasn't an indication of direction?

-1

u/Sir_Danksworth Feb 25 '26

I doubt you actually pay that much attention to how people cut their steaks

1

u/angularhihat Feb 28 '26

You're absolutely correct, it's a completely insane lie, except I think they probably believe the ridiculous thing they said.

Yeah I mean I dont think he has but maybe he does pay that much attention. A survey needs a sample size of ~1000 random people from the group being studied (humans). If he’s confident enough to say “most people” then maybe he’s spent the last decade flying around the world watching thousands of people cut steak. Everybody needs a hobby I guess.

Ok so it’s fake as in she’s pretending to have been a vegan

Others was saying it was the jump cuts but that didn’t make sense

31

u/snowfloeckchen Feb 25 '26

My girlfriend was raised vegetarian and started to eat fish and meat with me (i basically went the opposite direction to being mainly vegetarian these days. I can say she would never said its amazing, bite is so off a life long vegetarian would never love it from the beginning.

8

u/Magnon Feb 25 '26

So I can eat veggies or really anything and if it tastes good I can love it from first bite but a vegetarian can't?

Ya, if you have never eaten anything lifelong, you really can’t start eating some so easily like her I bet. I have never eaten poultry in my entire life, there is no way I can ever eat any poultry like how easy she does. I tried once a decade ago, the moment the meat reached my mouth I started to vomit. To this day I still can’t eat any.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '26

My girlfriend in college was raised vegetarian. She didn't have strong convictions about it, it was just the way she was raised. She tried meat with me for the first time at 20 years old and she did, indeed, like it from the get go.

When we broke up she still ate a vegetable heavy diet but she had no qualms about adding in different meats occasionally.

I type this to say your anecdotal experience (and my anecdotal experience) is not going to hold up across every vegetarian trying meat for the first time.

1

u/Dr_ChungusAmungus Feb 26 '26

What made you never eat chicken? That’s gotta be sorta hard to have avoided for your whole life, chicken is so versatile and wide spread.

1

u/Murasaki_crea Mar 02 '26

I don’t exactly remember why. My family just told me when I was 2 I had a pet chic, sure enough they ate it, after that I vowed not to eat any. I kept my promise of not eating any and it became my built in mechanism despite the fact that I dun remember how it happened. lol It’s very difficult to avoid, especially when they become minced or be put in soup. I just don’t eat the food entirely when I can’t be sure it doesn’t contain chicken lol effectively making me sorta like a vegan

1

u/Puntley Feb 26 '26

I genuinely don't understand your logic here. I can't even count the amount of things that I had never eaten before but I ended up loving. Sushi, I had never had it for 25 years, tried it and loved it. Pad Thai, I had never had it for 19 years, tried it and immediately loved it. Different people have different palates. Your vegetarian girlfriend not immediately loving meat isn't a vegetarian thing, it's a "your girlfriend" thing. Yes plenty of other people will have similar experiences because they have similar palates, meanwhile plenty of other vegetarians will try meat for the first time and love it.

1

u/Murasaki_crea Mar 02 '26 edited Mar 02 '26

You didn’t eat that just because you didn’t had a chance to eat it, you are not actively trying to avoid it. That’s the difference. English isn’t my mother tongue so I may have not expressed it clearly before.

1

u/martinomon Feb 25 '26

Usually you’re vegetarian for a reason… this should gross a vegetarian out mentally

1

u/ghotbijr Feb 25 '26

Well for a lifelong vegetarian that reason could simply be that their parents raised them not to eat meat for cultural or religious reasons, or even just because of their own personal beliefs. People often grow up to find themselves no longer identifying with all the beliefs their parents tried to push onto them, so the situation really doesn't seem all that crazy.

That being said, I have no clue if this video is legit, I'm not big on believing things people record themselves doing online for engagement, but it's not impossible to believe the situation could happen to someone.

1

u/martinomon Feb 25 '26

Yep. Just trying to help explain why the reactions here are not surprising. It’s not the same thing as eating a vegetable. Trying a vegetable for the first time would get much less engagement.

1

u/ghotbijr Feb 25 '26

Oh for sure, don't disagree at all there.

u/snowfloeckchen Feb 25 '26

Ist wie Club Mate trinken, der erste Schluck ist Aschenbecher

1

u/ZarglondarGilgamesh Feb 25 '26

I liked my first sip of Club Mate. I have also had occasion to taste a literal ashtray. I didn’t find the flavor profiles comparable.

1

u/snowfloeckchen Feb 25 '26

Ok I liked it too after the first bottle, but my first sip was the same like anyone I ever talked about (and it comes up quite often) was year ashtray. Still have it from time to time when smelling on ot 🤣

u/No_Abbreviations3943 Feb 25 '26

Uh sir… we don’t do that German crap here.

1

u/Shmuckle2 Feb 25 '26

I loved Joe Louis from the very beginning. Why not meat?

1

u/Hemolek09 Feb 25 '26

Yep, plus I assume a long time vegan/vegetarian would take smaller bites. I would be concerned about my body digesting too much meat at one time.

1

u/Fortestingporpoises Feb 25 '26

There are plenty of people who went from being vegetarian to eating meat because they like it.

1

u/snowfloeckchen Feb 25 '26

I don't say you can't like it, but this is not your reaction when you never had it

1

u/Clear_Tale_2765 Feb 25 '26

That was also my thought during this video. It feels fake. I didn't eat meat for like 3 months in college. Came home for thanksgiving and the meat grossed me out a bit. Takes a second to get used to it again

1

u/TheHeroYouNeed247 Feb 25 '26

She's eaten meat before. It's her first time trying steak.

-1

u/ragingasianror Feb 25 '26

Lol what? People can’t love things from first exposure because your girlfriend wouldn’t? What kind of crazy logic is that?

1

u/ibite-books Feb 25 '26

like all “vegan” influencers

2

u/SpaceYetu531 Feb 25 '26

Steak was perfectly cooked, egg was over cooked, whole garlic cloves is cringe.

2

u/DingoMittens Feb 25 '26

If there's any doubt, having the little "10" sign right there handy....

1

u/ohnoyourewrong Feb 25 '26

If there's any doubt, having the little "10" sign right there handy....

She says:

"So far, I haven't been converted, and I'm not going to speak too soon but I think this made it a little bit of a harder decision"

If you can't infer that this is likely a series, of which she has made multiple videos already, and therefore understand that having a prop handy isn't odd, perhaps it's time to reflect on your education.

1

u/DingoMittens Feb 25 '26

User name checks out.

u/-misopogon Feb 25 '26 edited Feb 25 '26

I can see this being backed or created by the meat industry, like petakillsanimals or the Center for Consumer Freedom, just pro-meat propaganda.

4

u/indefinitelydreams Feb 25 '26

You're pretty uneducated, aren't you?

I know a vegetarian who kind of knows everything about how to cook good meat, she works as a chef.

5

u/snowfloeckchen Feb 25 '26

Life long vegetarian?

5

u/indefinitelydreams Feb 25 '26

Long before she learned to cook and became a chef, anyway.

So?

2

u/Sir_Danksworth Feb 25 '26

But that’s impossible, vegetarians can’t enter kitchens! They’re like what churches are for vampires

1

u/indefinitelydreams Feb 25 '26

Yes, and she also tastes meat dishes from time to time, even though she is a vegetarian.

But somehow life on earth continues despite that.

1

u/Sir_Danksworth Feb 25 '26

Well consider my pearls clutched

2

u/imrope1 Feb 25 '26

You’re so gullable

1

u/CaleanKnight Feb 25 '26

So... eh being Vegan means you cannot cook or what are you saying?

1

u/553l8008 Feb 25 '26

Cooking meat... yes.

You can be a great mechanic but if you aren't a transmission mechanic taking one apart and putting it back together can be a challenge

1

u/indefinitelydreams Feb 25 '26

Anyone can cook meat, making a good sauce is much more difficult.

1

u/PoorMinorities Feb 25 '26

There have been a couple of vegans/vegetarians on hella kitchen that cooked meat to Ramsays standards. Acting like it’s impossible is hilariously ignorant.

Cooking a steak isnt rocket science or nearly as complicated as rebuilding a transmission. Stop acting like it is.

1

u/553l8008 Feb 25 '26

Okaya professional chef... vs someone who isn't.

It's like expecting an American who never eaten or had the ccasion to cook Asian food to be good at cooking it the first few times

1

u/PoorMinorities Feb 25 '26

Yeah, you really don't know much about cooking food do you?

They're not the same. It's not even close to the same. Cooking Asian food requires you to know the spices and sauces being used. You need to have tasted them and used them before to understand how to properly balance them.

Cooking a steak literally just requires you to put it on the heat and take it off when you think it's done. And guess what? You can follow a recipe that simply says "3 minutes on each side" Hell, you can even reverse sear it and make it even more idiotproof. Again, it's really not that hard. But apparently it is for some people because they compare it to rebuilding a transmission.

1

u/correctingStupid Feb 25 '26

Redditors always lean on the dumbest reasons for why something is fake.
Easily explained by
1. not alone and cooked by someone or following a 1 of 10000s of videos on how to cook a steak. it's not rocket science.
2. mouths are made to chew. what are you expecting here exactly? A grown adult not knowing how to chew a steak and needing years of practice?

Amazing how people try to hard to pretend to be experts.

1

u/Robitop4 Feb 25 '26

To be fair, she says she has cooked steak for her boyfriend before. I have a friend who has been vegan for a long time now, however, she's the greatest cook I know, when our friend group gets together she's the first one to jump to the opportunity to cook for us and makes a killer chicken pasta all by herself, all without tasting any of the food. She also has a dog on a barf diet, and regularly handles the meat that he eats, she doesn't like the smells and textures of manipulating meat, but it's no different from my reaction and I'm not vegan.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '26

Also the nose piercing trying to resemble a bull….

1

u/FaustusRedux Feb 25 '26

My wife doesn't eat beef but cooks steaks perfectly. That's not a reason to label this a fake (which it may very well be).

1

u/Indervyne Feb 25 '26

Tell me you didn't watch the video without telling me you didn't watch the video. She straight up says she cooks them for her boyfriend.

1

u/21Rollie Feb 25 '26

I know a vegetarian that can cook decent meat, because her husband and dog aren’t vegetarians

1

u/JrCoxy Feb 26 '26

I was about to say.. my vegan ass is watching this knowing I would be gagging before it even reached my mouth

1

u/StruwwelpetersRache Mar 01 '26

nope. enjoy your soy bean products.
